Læreres erfaring med lek på mellomtrinnet
Get PDFDenne masteroppgaven innen tilpasset opplæring undersøker lekens rolle i et inkluderende læringsmiljø på mellomtrinnet. Med utgangspunkt i forskning og teori, tar oppgaven for seg hvordan mellomtrinnslærere forstår og anvender lek i en hverdag som flere lærere opplever er preget av målstyring og testing. Studien søker å besvare følgende problemstilling: Hvordan oppfatter mellomtrinnslærere lekens betydning for et inkluderende læringsmiljø?
For å svare på denne problemstillingen ble det benyttet en kvalitativ tilnærming, hvor fem intervjuer med lærere ble gjennomført. Analysen av intervjuene resulterte i flere temaer som inkludering, styrt lek, lekens egenverdi, og lærerens rolle, samt hvordan disse faktorene bidrar til sosial og faglig læring. Videre utforsket studien hvordan organisasjonskultur, læreplaner, og ledelse påvirker bruk av lek på mellomtrinnet.
Resultatet viser at inkluderingsbegrepet tolkes ulikt av lærere. Når det gjelder inkludering gjennom lek, fokuserer noen lærere hovedsakelig på det sosiale aspektet i settinger som friminutt, kroppsøvingsfaget og uteskole.
Andre lærere har en bredere forståelse av begrepene inkludering og lek, og kobler begge begrepene til faglig læring. De er særlig opptatt av at lek kan gi barn som opplever lite mestring i løpet av skoledagen, muligheter til å oppleve mestring gjennom lek. Videre blir det fremhevet at lek benyttes som pauseaktiviteter og som motivasjon for læring.
Studien påpeker også ledelsens sentrale rolle i å opprettholde lekens plass i skolen, samt hvordan tolkningen av læreplan kan påvirke hvordan lek implementeres på mellomtrinnet. Videre belyses lærerens rolle i leken. Informantene var delt i synet på om lærere bør delta aktivt i barnas lek. Det var imidlertid enighet om at barn i dag trenger støtte for å initiere lek, noe som er avgjørende for at leken skal finne sted.
Funnene i denne studien vil kunne være et bidrag i en aktuell og pågående debatt om lekens plass i skolen, som oftest dreier seg om lek i begynneropplæringen.This study, within the bounds of adapted education, will examine the role of play in an inclusive learning environment in upper primary school. Based on the theoretical framework and research within the field, the study explores how upper primary school teachers understand and utilize play in a school day otherwise riddled with formative assessments. The study seeks to answer the research question: How does upper primary school teachers perceive the importance of play for an inclusive learning environment?
Using a qualitative approach this study seeks to further investigate the research question. The analyzes of the conducted interviews reveal multiple topics like inclusion, guided play, the play’s intrinsic value and the role of the teacher and how these topics contributes to social and academic learning. Furthermore, the study considers how the curriculum, organizational culture and admin affect the usage of play in middle school.
The results unveil that the term “inclusion” is interpreted differently by educators. Regarding inclusion through play, some educators focus mainly on the social aspect in settings like recess, physical education and outdoor school.
Other educators broaden the interpretation of the terms “inclusion” and “play”, associating both to academic learning. The educators emphasize that play may provide pupils who lack a sense of mastery the opportunity to experience it through play. Additionally, it is highlighted that play is employed as a respite and motivation for learning.
Moreover, the study calls attention to admin’s key involvement to maintain play’s part in the school system and how the interpretation of curriculum may affect the implementation of play in middle school. Furthermore, the educator’s role in play is illuminated. The interviewees were of diverging opinions whether the educator should actively participate in the pupils’ play, however, did stress that the pupils needed an active instigator of play for it to occur.
The results of this study will contribute to the topical and ongoing debate regarding play’s place in school, mainly play in elementary school
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
