Analysis of Babu and Odeh's Model
In this work, Babu and Odehs model for estimating flow rate from partially penetrating systems is studied. A VBA code is written in order to simulate the model and its results are compared against simulations using Eclipse Software. Sensitivity to different parameters is analyzed and an increasing-decreasing behavior as the reservoirs length is increased is specifically addressed and analyzed.
After simulating different scenarios it is observed that Babu and Odehs model predicts that there will be a specific reservoirs length for which a maximum flow rate will be predicted. An explicit analytical expression is obtained for one of the cases considered in the model.
The results obtained are compared against Eclipse runs, it is observed that the model is reasonably accurate, and that the reservoirs length at which the maximum flow rate onsets is similar in both cases.
It is concluded that the model is accurate within its simplistic assumptions, but it is in these same assumptions that it might yield very different results than reality itself
The Impact Of The Development Of ICT In Several Hungarian Economic Sectors
As the author could not find a reassuring mathematical and
statistical method in the literature for studying the effect of
information communication technology on enterprises, the author
suggested a new research and analysis method that he also used to study the Hungarian economic sectors. The question of what
factors have an effect on their net income is vital for enterprises. At first, the author studied some potential indicators related to economic sectors, then those indicators were compared to the net income of the surveyed enterprises. The resulting data showed that the growing penetration of electronic marketplaces contributed to the change of the net income of enterprises to the greatest extent.
Furthermore, among all the potential indicators, it was the only indicator directly influencing the net income of enterprises.
With the help of the compound indicator and the financial data
of the studied economic sectors, the author made an attempt to find a connection between the development level of ICT and
profitability. Profitability and productivity are influenced by a lot of other factors as well. As the effect of the other factors could not be measured, the results – shown in a coordinate system - are not full but informative.
The highest increment of specific Gross Value Added was
produced by the fields of ‘Manufacturing’, ‘Electricity, gas and water supply’, ‘Transport, storage and communication’ and
‘Financial intermediation’. With the exception of ‘Electricity, gas and water supply’, the other economic sectors belong to the group of underdeveloped branches (below 50 percent).
On the other hand, ‘Construction’, ‘Health and social work’ and
‘Hotels and restaurants’ can be seen as laggards, so they got into the lower left part of the coordinate system.
‘Agriculture, hunting and forestry’ can also be classified as a
laggard economic sector, but as the effect of the compound
indicator on the increment of Gross Value Added was less
significant, it can be found in the upper left part of the coordinate system. Drawing a trend line on the points, it can be made clear that it shows a positive gradient, that is, the higher the usage of ICT devices, the higher improvement can be detected in the specific Gross Value Added
Research Paper-Eldho Babu Maria Joseph Viviliaa Francis (1).docx
The exponential progression of guerrilla marketing from its stature as a mere low-cost method used by small and unestablished enterprises to acceptance by major and established players, as well as the blending of street-based approaches and digital technologies, make the concept arduous to delineate (Dahlén et al., 2009). The idea of guerrilla marketing is incredibly pertinent in a world where advertisers compete for customers’ attention by being more strategic and ingenious with their marketing operations (Koeck & Warnaby, 2014). It is a novel, unconventional, and captivating method of marketing intended to pique interest and spread word of mouth (Dinh & Mai, 2015). The core of guerrilla marketing, in contrast to normal marketing efforts, is more about communicating a distinctive image or identity concerning a firm than it is about outlining the characteristics and benefits of the product (Lee et al., 2018). Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore how guerrilla marketing influences customer preferences. This article seeks to evaluate the efficacy of guerrilla marketing strategies in raising brand recognition, boosting brand loyalty, and eventually influencing customer purchasing behaviour. The outcomes of the study will offer focused insights to marketers and companies seeking to leverage guerrilla marketing effectively in their advertising endeavours.</p
Choosing the Right Kind of Accreditation for a Business School: A Comparison between AACSB, ACBSP, and IACBE
This paper offers a comparison of the accreditation standards of three CHEA and US Department of Education recognized business school program accreditation agencies – AACSB, ACBSP, and IACBE. It also discusses the relative challenges and benefits of achieving accreditation by these agencies. While the choice for business schools is often not very clear and is a long drawn negotiated process involving different interest groups, this paper will nevertheless offer some basis of comparison among the accreditation agencies. The author draws heavily from his own personal experiences leading accreditation efforts in various US based and international b-schools and proposes the merits and demerits of different alternatives
Small Autonomous Vehicles in Pedestrian Contexts: A First Analysis of Logistics Performances in Terms of Commercial Speed
There is a lot of talk about autonomous vehicles, and Europe is very much focusing on their use and deployment. However, the field use of these vehicles is still very limited. The proposed research refers to a specific category of autonomous vehicles, that is, small ground autonomous vehicles circulating in pedestrian environments, with a focus on their use in operating logistical services. More precisely, this paper presents data collected during a challenging experiment carried out in the city of Trikala, Greece, in the context of the major European project “SHOW”. A statistical analysis of these sampled data concerning service times, in terms of commercial speed, for collecting organic waste from cafeterias is presented. The aim of this paper is to verify whether data collected from autonomous vehicles used for this service are reliable and whether accurate estimates can be derived from these data to be used as standard parameters of these vehicles. For these reasons, we analyze the operational performance of the service performed by small autonomous vehicles, with particular attention to the interactions between them and pedestrians and the ability of users to load and unload small vehicles. More precisely, we verify whether there is an adaptation period in which human–vehicle interactions become smoother and whether commercial speed varies at different times of day, that is, if there are peak periods in which droid speed is limited because of the intensity of interactions with pedestrians. A statistical analysis of these data is proposed to find answers to these research questions. It made it possible to highlight an adaptation curve of humans to droids and that no peak periods emerged where droid speed was limited because of the intensity of interactions with pedestrians. This result is probably related to the fact that stability of service operation was not achieved. Had the period of experimentation been extended, it would probably have been possible to identify peak and off-peak periods and the relative commercial speeds. However, it is important to note that the achievement of service operation stability takes a long time. The results obtained are interesting and contribute to the current state of knowledge. In fact, data analyzed here are collected on public land, refer to interactions that take place between small autonomous ground vehicles and a heterogeneous population, and therefore constitute a starting point for the development of technologies that facilitate human–driver interactions and thus lead to an improvement in the performance of sustainable logistics services managed by autonomous vehicles and facilitate their dissemination
Peptidyl Prolyl Isomerase A Modulates the Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation of Proline-Rich IDPs
[Image: see text] Liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and the action of molecular chaperones are tightly connected. An important class of molecular chaperones are peptidyl prolyl isomerases, which enhance the cis/trans-isomerization of proline. However, little is known about the impact of peptidyl prolyl isomerases on the LLPS of IDPs, which often contain many prolines. Here, we demonstrate that the most ubiquitous peptidyl prolyl isomerase, peptidyl prolyl isomerase A (PPIA), concentrates inside liquid-like droplets formed by the Alzheimer’s disease-associated protein tau, as well as inside RNA-induced coacervates of a proline–arginine dipeptide repeat protein. We further show that the recruitment of PPIA into the IDP droplets triggers their dissolution and return to a single mixed phase. NMR-based binding and proline isomerization studies provide insights into the mechanism of LLPS modulation. Together, the results establish a regulatory role of proline isomerases on the liquid–liquid phase separation of proline-rich IDPs
