How far ethics education positively influences ethical decision making of the young lawyers in Kedah? / Anida Mahmood, Haswira Nor Mohamad Hashim and Kamarul Ariffin Mansor
This paper was written based on part of the findings of a survey made on young lawyers who are practicing in the state of Kedah. Young lawyers are advocates and solicitors with less than seven y ears of active practice. The
objective of this study is to determine what factors positively influenced young lawyers' ethical decision making. Data was collected from /33 young lawyers who are practicing in the state of Kedah between January - June 2006 through self-administered and close- end questionnaires. The finding suggests that knowledge in professional legal ethics gained at the law faculty, pupil age and short ethics course does not contribute much to the ethical decision making of the young lawyers. Moved by this finding. this paper attempts to discuss the current legal ethics education in Malaysia. The main contention of the writers is their firm belief that the current practice of professional legal ethics education in Malaysia is insufficient and far from being adequate in producing ethical lawyers. Therefore the writers have proposed for
professional legal ethics education in Malaysia to be reformed and this proposal serves as the basic premise of this paper

STUDI PEMIKIRAN MUSTAFA AKYOL DAN HASHIM KAMALI TERHADAP PENERAPAN SANKSI APOSTASI: ANALISIS HERMENEUTIKA NEGOSIATIF
The death penalty for people who left from Islam is contrary to religious freedom. Human rights, which is the dominant discourse today, calls for a re-reading of the death penalty. The implication, there are many scholars who re-think the punishment of apostasy. Among them are Mustafa Akyol and Hashim Kamali who goes into this line. If the first name lives in the middle of a society where Muslims are a minority (America), then it is different from the last name. Hashim Kamali disseminated his ideas in Malaysia, one of the countries adhering to classical Islamic traditions. The fundamental question in this study is how the sanctions of apostasy are discussed again by the two thinkers.
This type of research is qualitative with future data on a library study (library research). These research data are derived from the representative works of Mustafa Akyol and Hashim Kamali on the subject of apostasy. Furthermore, the findings of their thinking are studied through the framework of negotiative hermeneutic theory. This theory was initiated by Khaled Abou El Fadl who pointed to the negotiations between the three entities, the author, the text and the reader. There are three key variables in discussing the thinking of Mustafa Akyol and Hashim Kamali. From texts and authority, the discourse of authoritarianism to the anatomy of the discourses of authority. Based on that, the approach taken here is socio-legal.
The first conclusion both Mustafa Akyol and Hashim Kamali have rejected the death penalty for apostasy. Second conclusion is using three variables when being analyzed by negotiative hermeneutic. In text and authority is able to be seen how a text is formed and its relationship with the social reality that surrounds it. The differences between the public who became the audience of them necessitate the differences in steps in the re-reading of this topic. On the discourse of authoritarianism can be reviewed the formation of non-authoritarian law by placing it as an entity that is constantly changing. Besides meeting the five prerequisites set by the hermeneutics of negotiations. In the anatomy of authoritarian discourse, there are three things that are discussed: consistency, a selective attitude to signs to the balance of interests and rationality. These two thinkers consistently use their respective steps in this topic. While Mustafa Akyol is selective to the sign, unlike Hashim Kamali. Despite this, they met at the same point with the conclusion that there is no death penalty for apostate perpetrators. This discussion is based on the success of both merging the importance of preserving religion and protecting human rights

Customer benefits on bitcoin as a medium of exchange
Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that is powered by blockchain technology. One of it is bitcoin, a system that is digitally created and traded tokens to which value is assigned. The level of adoption of bitcoin has accelerated due to several fiscal crises that leads to financial crashes that have affected the lives of millions of people. This has created a demand for new kinds of niche money. Issues need to be closely discussed before it is fully accepted by customers as a medium of exchange. Even though bitcoin is used as a medium of exchange, there is still no specific guidance and benefits to the users. The issues concernedare whether the customers will get the benefits of privacy, lower transaction costs and freedom in payment. Therefore, the aims of this paper are to identify the relationship between transaction cost, privacy and digital payment as a benefit of bitcoin as a medium of exchange. This research will be conducted in Klang Valley area and the questionnaires will be disseminated directly to respondents. These respondents will be identified using probability simple random sampling. A regression analysis will be conducted comprising 200 observations in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Partial least square-structural equation (PLS-SEM) will be used. In the measurement model, reliability will be assessed by examining the Composite Reliability (CR), while validity will be assessed by convergent validity and discriminant validity. Subsequently, structural model testing with 500 re-samples was applied to test the hypothesized relationships between exogenous variables and endogenous variable. Digital payment and privacy are statistically significant towards the benefit of using bitcoin as a medium of exchange. It was found that the digital payment contributes the highest benefit to the customers followed by privacy. The results provide interesting insight into the determinants for the customers benefit using bitcoin. Although the findings show significant results customers should always decide the good and bad thoroughly before finalizing their decisions on the usage of bitcoin. Therefore, it is hoped that this study will enrich the growing literature on the subject and future research needs to explore on the benefits of using bitcoin among the real users. This study is expected to give guidelines to the policymakers on the implementation of bitcoin as a medium of exchange. It is also expected that the results may provide interesting insight into the determinants of customer benefits using bitcoin. Simultaneously, it will contribute to the elements of industry, innovation and infrastructure
