Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Full text linkSistem perhitungan BEP (Break Even Point) sangat penting bagi perusahaan untuk dapat melakukan perencanaan laba dengan baik. Perhitungan BEP dapat dilakukan dengan data historis, dan data taksiran untuk periode yang akan datang. Tujuan dari penulisan Laporan Akhir ini untuk merancang sebuah sistem perhitungan Break Even Point berbasis Visual Basic 2010 pada PO Yoanda Prima Palembang. Jenis dan sumber data yaitu data primer melalui hasil wawancara dan data sekunder berupa dokumen. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data selama penelitian adalah metode studi lapangan dan studi kepustakaan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data kualitatif. Adapun peran sistem perhitungan Break Even Point berbasis Visual Basic 2010 yaitu sebagai salah satu sistem untuk mempermudah para pimpinan manajemen dalam menentukan pengambilan keputusan. Perhitungan BEP bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara biaya tetap, biaya variabel, harga jual, laba yang diharapkan dan volume penjualan, serta memberikan informasi mengenai Margin of Safety. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa perolehan laba tiap bulan pada PO Yoanda Prima Palembang mengalami fluktuasi sehingga diperlukan perhitungan BEP yang cepat dan akurat menggunakan suatu sistem. Melalui sistem ini, diharapkan PO Yoanda Prima dapat melakukan perencanaan laba dengan baik dan memberikan pelatihan bagi karyawan yang akan mengoperasikan sistem perhitungan BEP yang telah dibuat

Full text linkTema penelitian ini diambil karena melihat fenomena yang terjadi pada orang tua tentang kekhawatiran terhadap moral anaknya. Motivasi orang tua menjadi salah satu kekuatan yang besar bagi masa depan anak. Pembinaan moral juga penting melihat maraknya kasus kriminal yang terjadi. Maka oleh sebab itulah orang tua memilih pondok pesantren sebagai sarana pembinaan moral bagi anaknya.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan dekriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan datanya antara lain; observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) Apa motivasi orang tua lebih memilih Pondok Pesantren Thawalib Sriwijaya Palembang sebagai sarana pembinaan moral bagi anak? (2) Bagaimanakah Pondok Pesantren Thawalib Sriwijaya Palembang dalam membina moral santri? (3) Faktor apa saja yang menjadi pendukung dan penghambat Pondok Pesantren Thawalib Sriwijaya Palembang dalam membina moral santri?
Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) motivasi orang tua lebih memilih pondok pesantren Thawalib Sriwijaya Palembang sebagai sarana pembinaan moral bagi anak meliputi dua jenis motivasi yaitu motivasi intrinsic. (2) pondok pesantren Thawalib Sriwijaya Palembang dalam membina moral santri. (3) Faktor-faktor yang menjadi pendukung dan penghambat dalam membina moral
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

Full text linkTujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar dan mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dalam pembelajaran IPS materi perjuangan para tokoh memepertahankan kemerdekaan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Word Square. Model pembelajaran Word Square adalah jenis pembelajaran inovatif yang menggunakan kotak-kotak yang berupa teka-teki silang sebagai alat dalam proses belajar mengajar.
Hasil belajar IPS adalah kemampuan-kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa baik berupa afektif, kognitif, psikomotor yang diperolehnya setelah mendapat atau menerima pengalaman belajar IPS. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah hasil belajar IPS dan ketrampilan guru dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran Word Square materi perjuangan para tokoh mempertahankan kemerdekaan pada kelas V SD 5 Klaling dapat meningkat.
Penelitian tindakan kelas ini akan dilaksanakan di kelas V SD 5 Klaling dengan subjek penelitian guru kelas V dan siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama dua siklus dengan setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Variabel bebas yaitu model pembelajaran Word Square dan variabel terikatnya yaitu hasil belajar siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini ialah observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa pada materi perjuangan para tokoh mempertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia yaitu pada ranah kognitif siklus I (65,90%) siklus II menjadi (76,1%), ranah afektif siklus I (72,5%) menjadi (85%) pada siklus II, ranah psikomotorik siklus I (68,09%) menjadi (83,20%) pada siklus II. Peningkatan tersebut didukung ketrampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran siklus I (72%) siklus II menjadi (80,16%) melalui model pembelajaran word square dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS materi perjuangan para tokoh mempertahankan kemerdekaan kelas V SD 5 Klaling.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan pada kelas V SD 5 Klaling dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model word square dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS materi perjuangan paratokoh mempertahankan kemerdekaankelas V. Peneliti menyarankan dalam pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran word square adalah dnegan meningkatkan ketrampilan guru dan aktivitas siswa
