Aggregated results from farm level modelling using linear programming for 210 farm types representing the variety of Polish farms, and 90% of the agricultural sector are presented. Intelligent opinion mining and sentiment analysis using artificial neural networks
Get PDFThe article formulates a rigorously developed concept of opinion mining and sentiment analysis using hybrid neural networks. This conceptual method for processing natural-language text enables a variety of analyses of the subjective content of texts. It is a methodology based on hybrid neural networks for detecting subjective content and potential opinions, as well as a method which allows us to classify different opinion type and sentiment score classes. Moreover, a general processing scheme, using neural networks, for sentiment and opinion analysis has been presented. Furthermore, a methodology which allows us to determine sentiment regression has been devised. The paper proposes a method for classification of the text being examined based on the amount of positive, neutral or negative opinion it contains. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Dilemmas in educating and improving officers in the field of leadership competences
No full textThere is a need to educate and improve army officers in leadership. Leadership is a factor that increases the likelihood of efficient action and in difficult moments can decide about the results of action. The right choice of goals and content of leadership education, as well as the selection of teachers who have relevant competences are important when designing studies. When choosing the content of education, one should pay attention to the multitude of dilemmas related to leadership. Several of them, discussed in the article, are particularly relevant. They relate to the list of leadership competences that should be shaped, loyalty to subordinates and superiors, the adequacy of the use of forces to the tasks received, the selection of teachers and the phenomenon of captainism. Effect of recombinant insulin-like growth factor-1 treatment on short-term linear growth in a child with Majewski osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type II and hepatic insufficiency
No full textWe report the case of a boy affected by severe intrauterine and postnatal growth retardation, microcephaly, facial dysmorphisms and postnecrotic cirrhosis, diagnosed at birth as having Seckel syndrome, and subsequently confirmed as Majewski osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type II (MOPD II) on the basis of clinical and radiological features of skeletal dysplasia. At our observation (6 years 7 months) he presented height -10.3 standard deviation score (SDS), weight -22.1 SDS, head circumference -8 SDS, delayed bone age of 4 years with respect to chronological age. In consideration of the low levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) as well as of hepatic insufficiency, we started the treatment with recombinant human IGF-1 (rhIGF-1) at the dose of 0.04 mg/kg in 2 doses/day, with an increase of 0.04 mg/kg after 1 week until the maximum dose of 0.12 mg/kg. We observed an early response to rhIGF-1 treatment, with a shift of height velocity from 1.8 cm/year (-4.6 SDS) at 4 cm/year (-1.9 SDS), and an increase in bone age of 1.5 years during the first 6 months. rhIGF-1 treatment does not seem to be able to replace the physiological action of IGF-1 in patients with MOPD II and hepatic insufficiency, however, it seems to preserve the typical growth pattern of MOPD II patients, avoiding a further widening of the growth deficiency in these subject
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dynamics on noncommutative Orlicz spaces
No full textQuantum dynamical maps are defined and studied for quantum statistical physics based on Orlicz spaces. This complements earlier work [26] where we made a strong case for the assertion that statistical physics of regular systems should properly be based on the pair of Orlicz spaces 〈Lcosh−1, L log(L + 1)〉, since this framework gives a better description of regular observables, and also allows for a well-defined entropy function. In the present paper we “complete” the picture by addressing the issue of the dynamics of such a system, as described by a Markov semigroup corresponding to some Dirichlet form (see [4, 13, 14]). Specifically, we show that even in the most general non-commutative contexts, completely positive Markov maps satisfying a natural Detailed Balance condition canonically admit an action on a large class of quantum Orlicz spaces. This is achieved by the development of a new interpolation strategy for extending the action of such maps to the appropriate intermediate spaces of the pair (L∞, L1). As a consequence, we obtain that completely positive quantum Markov dynamics naturally extends to the context proposed in [26
