Josefina Castellví: Microbióloga, oceanógrafa y pionera de la investigación española en la Antártida
[EN] Josefina Castellví was born in Barcelona on July 1, 1935. Her parents, with quite advanced ideas for the time, encouraged their daughters to study so that they would be independent.
Pepita, as she likes to be called, graduated in Biological Sciences, specializing in marine microbiology and oceanography at the Sorbonne University at a time when these disciplines were a rarity in Spain. In 1960 he joined the Fisheries Research Institute (seed of the Institut de Ciències del Mar de Barcelona), where he wrote his doctoral thesis and participated in his first oceanographic campaigns, not without the difficulty of having to fight for his place on the oceanographic vessels for the fact of being a woman.
Although she does not like to be called a pioneer, in the southern summer of 1984, Pepita participated in an Argentine oceanographic expedition together with the scientist Marta Estrada and the journalist Charo Nogueira, which would make them the first Spanish women to set foot in Antarctica. Later, in 1986, she was part of the CSIC group that camped on Livingston Island to claim a Spanish Antarctic scientific base. And it worked, because the following year she participated in the installation of the Juan Carlos I Spanish Antarctic Base (BAE), which she managed during the years 1988-1993. This made her the first woman in the world to be the head of a scientific base in Antarctica.

The hippocampal longitudinal axis – relevance for underlying tau and TDP-43 pathology?
Recent studies suggest that hippocampus has different cortical connectivity and functionality along its longitudinal axis. We sought to elucidate the possible different pattern of atrophy in longitudinal axis of hippocampus between Amyloid/Tau pathology and TDP-43-pathies. Seventy-three presenile subjects were included: Amyloid/Tau group (33 Alzheimer’s disease (AD) with confirmed CSF biomarkers), probable TDP-43 group (7 semantic variant progressive primary aphasia, 5 GRN and 2 C9orf72 mutation carriers) and 26 healthy controls. We conducted a region-of-interest voxel-based morphometry analysis on the hippocampal longitudinal axis, by contrasting the groups, covarying with CSF biomarkers (Aβ42, total tau, p-tau) and covarying with episodic memory scores. Amyloid/Tau pathology affected mainly posterior hippocampus while anterior left hippocampus was more atrophied in probable TDP-43pathies. We also observed a significant correlation of posterior hippocampal atrophy with AD CSF biomarkers and visual memory scores. Taken together, these data suggest that there is a potential differentiation along the hippocampal longitudinal axis based on the underlying pathology, which could be used as a potential biomarker to identify the underlying pathology in different neurodegenerative diseases
Léxico con valoración emocional positiva en ruso
The purpose of research devoted to study of lexical system of units, expressing a positive emotional evaluation is determined by insufficient study of the given subsystem. In the present research the following tasks are put: 1) to reveal system of lexical units with a language positive emotional evaluation on the basis of the dictionary definitions and corresponded lexicographical marks; 2) on the basis of lexical-semantic and thematic attributes to carry out semantic-thematic classification of the given lexicon; 3) to define sintagmatical features of words expressing a positive emotional evaluation to reveal rules of typical compatibility and functioning have given lexical units in the text. The hypothesis is put forward, that the emotional evaluation can be determined through its components accessible to the objective analysis. As criterion of occurrence of an emotional evaluation at a lexical level the importance of the internal form of lexical units (semantic and derivative motivation) is offered. The emotional evaluation is determined as reflection of emotional thinking at realization of expressive function of language causing persuasive effect. The given theoretical positions allow specifying mutual relation of categories Expressiveness, Emotionality and Emotional evaluation: all emotional evaluative units are expressive. Components of an Emotional Evaluation are: - metaphorical figurativeness; - intensity of an expressed attribute; - sound figurativeness; - derivative affixes having own evaluative meaning. The kinds of a positive Emotional evaluation are determined, thus the friendly attitude as an independent kind of an Emotional evaluation for the first time is allocated: - friendly attitude (offered by the author); - tender attitude (difference in comparison with the friendly attitude in character of the emotional relation and intensity); - approval; - admiration (difference in comparison with approval in intensity). For the first time is determined thematic reference of GLT (lexical-thematic groups), determining occurrence of secondary positive-evaluated semantics on the basis of thematic reference of primary nominative semantics of lexemes; are determined through sems ('magic', 'heavenly', 'shine', 'fantastic', 'sweet' etc.), causing existence of quasistereotypes (angel, miracle, king, magic, raspberry, gold, sun, star etc). The tendencies to tender attitude admiration with minimal diffusive share of nominative components are determined
Hispanic Baroque Ekphrasis
Analyses of early modern Latin American literature have often portrayed it either as a continuation of the Iberian tradition, or as a reaction against Spanish imperialism. However, such overgeneralisations cannot account for the complex corpus of writing produced in the ‘New World’. This is particularly true for the study of Gongorism, the new style developed by the Spanish author Luis de Góngora (1561–1627), which transformed Baroque poetics on both sides of the Atlantic. In this monograph, Luis Castellví Laukamp examines Góngora’s impact on the visual and artistic imagination of two major Spanish American authors: Hernando Domínguez Camargo (1606–1659) and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (1651–1695). Its implications extend beyond the Hispanic world to inform broader discussions about poetic influence, transmission of culture, and the relationship between art and poetry
