    Il saggio costituisce un contributo metodologico e critico sul cosiddetto Taccuino mantovano, attribuito all'anonimo artista fiammingo noto come Anonimo A, segnatamente in relazione all'album di Maarten van Heemskerck, insieme a cui il taccuino risulta rilegato. Attraverso l'indagine autoptica, storica e critica dei disegni, il saggio propone una revisione della datazione dei fogli, una nuova ipotesi relativa all'identità dell'anonimo autore e suggerisce un collegamento tra il taccuino mantovano e la raccolta perduta dei disegni di Giulio Romano, aggiungendo un tassello importante alla storia del collezionismo del Cinquecento. Il saggio è inserito nel catalogo bilingue (tedesco/inglese) pubblicato in occasione della mostra Faszination Rom. Maarten van Heemskerck zeichnet die Stadt (The Allure of Rome.
