No full textIl saggio è costituito da due parti, la prima delle quali, dedicata alla fondazione della Federazione italiana delle biblioteche circolanti cattoliche, è stata pubblicata nel precedente numero dei «Nuovi Annali», XXVII (2013), pp. 137-163. In questa seconda parte viene delineata la figura intellettuale di Giovanni Casati, che diresse la «Rivista di letture» dal 1912 al 1944, trasformando il periodico della Federazione in una rivista impegnata nella divulgazione della cultura cattolica. A questo impegno militante Casati fece corrispondere un intenso programma editoriale, che trovò espressione nella pubblicazione di saggi letterari, di manuali e opere repertoriali.The study consists of two parts; the first is dedicated to the history of the Federazione italiana delle biblioteche circolanti cattoliche since its foundation (1904) up to 1912 and was published in the previous volume of the «Nuovi Annali », XXVII (2013), pp. 137-163. In this second part, the author outlines the intellectual figure of Giovanni Casati, who directed the «Rivista di letture» from 1912 to 1944, transforming the magazine of the Federation in a journal engaged in the spreading of Catholic culture. To this militant engagement Casati matched an intense publishing program, which found its expression in the publication of literary essays, manuals and reference works

Cadeias produtivas do carvão vegetal na agricultura familiar no sul do Brasil
No full textDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciências Agrárias, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Agroecossistemas, Florianópolis, 2013.A produção de carvão vegetal é uma importante atividade geradora de renda para agricultores familiares, mas essa relevância não se apresenta nos dados oficiais. Grande parte do carvão vegetal encontrado nos estabelecimentos varejistas é produzida de maneira informal. O carvão produzido de forma social e ambientalmente responsável por agricultores que não conseguem regularizar a atividade, acaba se misturando nas prateleiras dos supermercados com o carvão que, embora seja produzido em contextos não desejáveis, também consegue ser comercializado. Este trabalho buscou compreender como as normativas existentes relativas à comercialização de carvão vegetal contemplam a diversidade de formas de comercialização do carvão produzido na agricultura familiar, através do estudo das cadeias produtivas do carvão vegetal nos municípios de Biguaçu e Santa Rosa de Lima, em Santa Catarina, e Bituruna, no Paraná. A estratégia de pesquisa foi o estudo de caso e as ferramentas de coleta de dados foram questionários, entrevistas e conversas informais com atores de todos os elos das cadeias de produção e com técnicos de órgãos ambientais e de extensão rural, além de observação direta nas comunidades. As cadeias produtivas do carvão são reguladas por instituições formais e informais. As instituições informais dizem respeito às relações entre os atores da cadeia, em que se destacam relações de confiança e normas implícitas entre os atores, sobretudo entre os atores de uma mesma comunidade. Quanto às instituições formais, destacam-se as normativas legais que a maioria dos agricultores não consegue cumprir. As dificuldades de regularização começam nas questões fundiárias e se agravam à medida que avançam as etapas da cadeia produtiva. Com relação ao transporte, nenhum agricultor atende às exigências. As dificuldades têm como causa a falta de recursos, a dificuldade dos agricultores de acesso à informação, a falta de clareza das normativas e a falta de informações precisas sobre as normativas por parte dos órgãos públicos. Destacam-se as dificuldades relativas ao entendimento e à operacionalização das normativas que regem o transporte de carvão vegetal, causadoras de custos de transação e insegurança jurídica aos agricultores que, a qualquer tempo, podem ter que arcar com o ônus da falta de entendimento dos órgãos oficiais a respeito do assunto. Abstract : The charcoal production is an important income generating activity for family farmers, but this relevance is absent in the official data. Large part of the charcoal found in the retail shops is produced clandestinely. Charcoal produced in a social and environmentally responsible way by farmers who have faced constrains to comply with regulations, eventually is mixed up on the supermarket shelves with the charcoal that, despite being produced in an undesirable context, reaches the regular market. This research aimed at understanding how the existing regulations for marketing charcoal encompasses the diversity of ways of marketing the coal produced in family farming, by studying the production chains of charcoal in the municipalities of Biguaçu, Santa Rosa de Lima (Santa Catarina) and Bituruna (Paraná). The research strategy was the case study and data collection tools were questionnaires, interviews and informal conversations with actors of all knots of the production chain and technical environmental agencies and rural extension, as well as direct observation in the studied communities. We realized that charcoal supply chains are regulated by formal and informal institutions. Informal institutions are concerned with relations between actors in the chain, with a highlight for relations of trust and implicit norms among actors, especially among those in the same community. Regarding the formal institutions, there are laws that most farmers cannot comply with. The difficulties begin in the regularization of land issues, which get worse along the development of the production chain. Regarding the transportation of the product, no farmer complies with the legal requirements. The difficulties are caused by the absence of resources, by the difficulty of farmers to access the information, and by the many doubts that the public institutions themselves have about the regulations. We highlighted the difficulties to understand and operate the rules that govern the charcoal transportation, which raise the transaction costs and promote legal uncertainty to the farmers who, at any time, may have to pay the price of lack of understanding of the public institutions on the theme

Probably the author wrote this hagiography when he was abbot and before becoming bishop of Pistoia. He re-elaborated the Life of the saint by Andrea of Strumi, adapting it to a changed historical and ecclesiastical context. The text was successful among the Vallombrosan Order and it was used by later hagiographers to create epitomes and rewritings of the Life of Giovanni Gualberto
