Gagal Ginjal Kronik Yang Menjalani Terapi Hemodialisa Di RSUD dr ABDUL AZIZ
Hypertension is when a person experiences increased blood pressure on tissue and organ perfusion. One complication that can be caused by hypertension is kidney failure. Urea and creatinine are waste products of the body's metabolism. Ureum and creatinine levels will increase, indicating impaired kidney function. Damage that occurs to the kidneys must be treated one way with hemodialysis. The function of hemodialysis therapy is to reduce urea and creatinine levels in patients with chronic kidney failure. The study's general objective was to analyze urea and creatinine levels in hypertensive patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy at dr. Abdul Aziz Singkawang General Hospital. The research design is analytically observational with a cross-sectional research design. Secondary data in this study were obtained from medical records and laboratory results of hypertensive patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy without complications of DM, namely 37 respondents who performed urea and creatinine examinations before and after hemodialysis at dr. Abdul Aziz Singkawang by using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study found 64 hypertensive patients undergoing hemodialysis and obtained a sample of 37 patients who met the criteria, namely hypertensive patients undergoing hemodialysis without complications of DM got an average urea level before hemodialysis 187.1919 mg/dl and after hemodialysis 136.0162 mg/dl. The intermediate creatinine level before hemodialysis was 14.0870 mg/dl and 11.0224 mg/dl after hemodialysis. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. They obtained p-value = 0.000 <α (0.05), which indicated differences in urea and creatinine levels before and after hemodialysis therapy in hypertensive patients with chronic kidney failure

A comparative study on heavy metals concentration between house with and without home water filter / Noor Suhadah Abdul Aziz
Lack access to clean and safe drinking water is a public health hazard. Due to the poor quality of supplied drinking water, respondents start to take additional measure by purchasing and installing their own home drinking water filter to improve the quality of their drinking water. A comparative study was conducted to determine heavy metals level (Lead, Cadmium, Copper and Iron) in respondent's tap water, to compare heavy metals level between filtered and unfiltered water and to compare the probable hazard associated with exposure to heavy metals in drinking water between respondents consuming filtered water and unfiltered water (n=140). Total of 60 tap water samples were collected and were analyzed using Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS). Results shows that level of Lead (0.02 mg/L) and Iron (0.63 mg/L) in respondent's tap water was violated the maximum acceptable value for Lead (0.01 mg/L) and Iron (0.3 mg/L) under National Standard For Drinking Water Quality 2004. There were significant differences in heavy metals level exist between filtered and unfiltered water (P < 0.05). Heavy metals level in unfiltered water was high compared to filtered water. Data also showed that there were significant differences in health hazard exist between respondents consuming filtered water and unfiltered drinking water (P < 0.05). Respondents consuming unfiltered water shown to get adverse health effect associated with the exposure to heavy metals in their drinking water. It was revealed that the use of home water filter can remove certain amounts of heavy metals in drinking water thus reduce health hazard associated to that particular contaminants
Nitrate concentration in groundwater and potential risk to human health / Wan Noor Azah Wan Abdul Aziz
Introduction: Nitrate (NO3-) is a naturally occurring form of nitrogen found in soil. Nitrogen is essential to all life. In moderate amounts, nitrate is a harmless constituent of food and water. The level of nitrate in drinking water should not exceed 1 O milligrams per liter (1 O ppm). Nitrate is a health hazard because of its conversion to nitrite. Once ingested, conversion of nitrate to nitrite takes place in the saliva of people of all age groups, and in the gastrointestinal tract of infants. Infants who are six months old or younger have the greatest risk of developing methemoglobinemia, because they consume a large amount of fluids in relationship to their body weight. Their stomachs also have a low acidity which creates an ideal environment for bacteria to convert nitrate to nitrite. Methodology: The study was conducted at Pasir Puteh, Kelantan. Focused at Kg Besar (n=10), Kg Tok Din (n=10), Kg Sepulau (n=10), and Kg Sungai Petai (n=10) at Mukim Semerak. The number of respondents is sixty respondents. The study design is cross sectional study. Sampling data collection using questionnaire, oral interview, measuring tape, camera, pH and temperature meter, and turbidity meter for in-situ. Ex-situ by using HACH DR2800 Spectrophotometer. The High Density Poly Ethylene (HOPE) bottles were used for collect the samples. A statistical analysis that is statistical package for the social science (SPSS) version 17.0 was used in this study. Results: The mean of nitrate concentratien between four different villages were low and below the standard at Kg Besar, Kg Tok Din and Kg Sg Petai was 4.37 mg/L, 3.57 mg/L and 3.15 mg/L respectively. Kg Sepulau had a high level of nitrate concentration with the mean concentration of 9.4 mg/L. There was a significant difference of nitrate concentration in well water with the location from the livestock activities (p=0.002). Mean nitrate exposure calculated was 0.1692 mg/kg/day. The min-max range is between 0.03 - 0.92 mg/kg/day. The age of respondents and Chronic Daily Intake (COi) was statistically significant. There was significant association between amount of water intake and hazard index. fiespondents who consumed more than 2.5 L water, will exposed to harmful potentially health risk. There was significant association between chronic daily intake and Hazard Index (HI) with p-value < 0.05 (p= 0.001 ). Conclusion: In conclusion, all respondents have low risk in their daily intake of nitrate. All respondent have Hazard Index below 1. It can be concluded that location of the wells with the location of the livestock activities, could be one of the factor that affect the nitrate level in the groundwater

An absorbing markov chain analysis of the enrollment of flow processes at the King Adbul Aziz University, 2016
The objective of the study is to apply Markov chain analysis to analyze student flow through King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) in Saudi Arabia, and to predict important metrics such as graduation and dropout rates. This objective arises from examination of the policies of KAU University. We begin with background information detailing the subject of study, then move into a general outline of stochastic processes. We then use these methods to construct a specific matrix of transition probabilities with data from the university student population. Finally, we discuss the calculation of the possibilities of transition between each level of study and the average time a student takes to complete each stage. The study uses Markov chains with these outcomes to analyze student retention data from the Department of Mathematics at KAU. From this analysis, the study will provide university policy recommendations that can be generalized to examine other universities
The rehabilitation of open dumping to sanitary landfill at Matang Taiping
Access is limited to UniMAP community.Open dumping Matang, Taiping was upgraded to a sanitary landfill more systematically with some of these sites have closed the phase I and II, while phase III is fully restored. This study aimed to know the process of upgrading the landfill open to closed and analyze the basic parameters of leachate as BOD ( Biochemical Oxygen Demand) , COD ( Chemical Oxygen Demand ) , Ammoniacal – Nitrogen, pH and Iron in new Biological treatment pond.In this study, sampling the water in each pond biological treatment of new and old was done. Results of laboratory studies found that the concentration of each parameter in the new biological treatment pond is higher than the old biological treatment ponds. Average reading parameters for old biological treatment pond of leachate COD 150.72 mg/L, BOD 70.64 mg/L, iron 0.21 mg/L, ammoniacal – nitrogen 55.48 mg/L and pH 7.26. The average reading for leachate in the new biological treatment pond COD 452.32 mg/L, BOD 104.93 mg/L, iron 3.67 mg/L, ammoniacal - nitrogen 351 mg/L and pH 8:37. Values were obtained from old biological treatment of leachate is suitable to be applied compared with new biological treatment because the size of new pond is small and not accommodate leachate from the drains around the waste disposal site
