Experimentalismo e transgressão na Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso de Mendes Fradique
No full textDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Literatura, Florianópolis, 2009.A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo mostrar em que medida o autor Mendes Fradique, em sua obra Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso, transita livremente pelo cômico, pelo nonsense e pelo experimentalismo, revelando significativa independência em relação aos movimentos literários organizados, além de antecipar formas de expressão literária que se tornariam comuns décadas após o lançamento do seu método confuso. Concomitantemente, procuraremos mostrar que a obra em questão é essencialmente crítica, tendo como pano de fundo a transgressão dos cânones literários e da própria gramática, além de problematizar as relações de poder subjacentes à linguagem. A partir da análise dessas questões, tentaremos conferir maior importância à obra de Mendes Fradique no contexto literário. Além disso, esta pesquisa poderá servir para ampliar os estudos nessa área do humor, bem como resgatar contribuições valiosas e inovadoras de um autor pouco (re)conhecido, cuja produção poderia ter chegado até nossos dias de forma menos obscura e marginal.The present research aims at showing to what extent the author Mendes Fradique, in his work called Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso, strolls freely by humor, nonsense and experimentalism, revealing a significant independence in relation to the organized literary movements, besides anticipating forms of literary expression which would become common decades after the release of his confused method. Simultaneously, we will try to show that the work in analysis is essentially critical, having as its background the transgression of the literary canons and the grammar itself, besides questioning the power relations present in language. From the analysis of these problems, we will try to confer more importance to Fradiques work within the literary context. Moreover, this research may be useful to widen the studies in the area of humor, as well as to recover important and innovative contributions of a lesser known author, whose production could have arrived to the present days in a less obscure and marginal way
The fallen woman in twentieth-century English and Brazilian novels : a comparative analysis of D.H. Lawrence and Jorge Amado

by two writers: D. H. Lawrence (1885-1930) and Jorge Amado (1912- ). The
comparison highlights the contrasts and similarities between two cultures and how they
are reflected in literature. The focus of the thesis is on an examination of unconventional
female characters and it illuminates more generally the ways in which literary creativity
is shaped by the interaction between writers and their social milieus.
The theme of the fallen woman provokes discussion of changing patterns of sexuality
in two different societies, in two different periods of their historical development. It also
involves the question of the social, political and cultural background of both England
and Brazil, where these images of the fallen women were fabricated. The thesis argues
that both Lawrence and Amado share tremendous sympathy for these women.
The thesis is divided into eight chapters. Chapters Two through Six are divided into
two parts. The analysis in Part One involves a number of Lawrence's novels: The White
Peacock, Sons and Lovers, The Lost Girl, Aaron's Rod, Mr. Noon, `Sun', and three
versions of Lady Chatterley's Lover. Part Two looks at the fallen woman in Amado's
writing from 1934 to 1977, and the discussion focuses on Jubiabä, Terras do sem fim,
Gabriela, cravo e canela, Dona Flor e seus dois maridos, Tereza Batista cansada de
guerra and Tieta do Agreste.
Female desire and its fulfilment in an unconventional way has been a central question
in all these novels. Without a moral judgement, both Lawrence and Amado depict the
female characters who are triumphant lovers, redeemed from the sense of sin or guilt by
their passion. The depiction of these women highlights the class and gender differences.
Both writers show how patriarchy plays a dominant role in keeping female sexuality
under control in both English and Brazilian societies

A minha subjetividade foi ao encontro da memória material das cartas destinadas ou remetidas por dois comunistas: Juan e Joaquim. A leitura delas me permitiu ressignificar a questão da autoria e da literatura epistolar. O trabalho, em parte, foi apresentado como cartas. A escrita, situada no limite entre ficcional e factual, faz referências ao contexto político e social do Brasil no período da ditadura de Vargas. O trabalho está inserido no contexto específico da memória e da narrativa dos comunistas e perseguidos políticos que viveram esta fase da vida intelectual, social, política e literária brasileira.Abstract : My dissertation´s main objective is to present the result of the affective relations constituted and apprehended from Jorge Amado´s collection (NuLIME). My subjectivity is connected to the material memory of the letters destined or posted by two communists: Juan and Joaquim. Reading them has enabled me to reframe the questions of authorship and epistolary literature. The work was partially presented as letters. The writing, classified in between fictional and factual, refers to the social and political context and to the narrative from communists and political persecuted who lived this period of Brazilian intellectual, social, political and literary life

No full textRelatório de Estágio do Mestrado em Património Cultural e Museologia apresentado à Faculdade de LetrasO presente trabalho, relatório de estágio, surge no âmbito do 2º ano do Mestrado em Património Cultural e Museologia, na vertente de Gestão e Programação. Pretende expor as atividades por mim realizadas ao longo de seis meses de estágio no Museu da Ciência da Universidade de Coimbra.O presente relatório de estágio, intitulado “Ciência e património: relatório de estágio no Museu da Ciência da Universidade de Coimbra”, consiste na apresentação do trabalho executado ao longo de seis meses de estágio no Museu da Ciência da Universidade de Coimbra, orientado pelo Doutor Paulo Amado Mendes pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, e pelo Doutor Paulo Trincão pela instituição de acolhimento. Este “Estágio/Relatório” é realizado no âmbito do 2º ano do Mestrado em Património Cultural e Museologia, na vertente de Gestão e Programação, baseando-se, na relação entre Ciência e Património. O trabalho foi desenvolvido partindo da questão inicial, Ciência e Património, onde, através de uma pequena resenha e enquadramento, pretendo posteriormente demonstrar a importância que a ciência pode ou não desempenhar no património e no caso concreto, no Museu da Ciência da Universidade de Coimbra. Estes objetivos foram trabalhados através tanto de bibliografia e fontes, como da experiência prática que adquiri ao longo do estágio curricular, que durante seis meses me proporcionou desenvolver tarefas distintas nos vários ramos da museologia assim como ter contacto com as várias coleções científicas disponíveis no museu.This internship report, entitled "Science and Heritage: internship report at the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra", consists of the presentation of the work performed over six months of internship at the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra, supervised by Doutor Paulo Amado Mendes by the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the University of Coimbra, and by Doutor Paulo Trincão by the host institution. This "Internship/Report" is carried out in the framework of the 2nd year of the master’s degree in Cultural Heritage and Museology, in the Management and Programming area, based on the relationship between Science and Heritage. The work was developed based on the initial question, Science and Heritage, where, through a short review and framework, I intend to later demonstrate the importance that science may or may not play in Heritage and in the concrete case, in the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra. These objectives were worked through both in bibliography and sources, as well as the practical experience I acquired throughout the curricular internship, which for six months allowed me to develop different tasks in the various branches of museology as well as to have contact with the various scientific collections available in the museum
O reavivamento da geopolítica alemã : o novo califado
No full textDissertação de mestrado em Relações Internacionais (Estudos da Paz e da Segurança), apresentada à Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra, sob a orientação de Carmen Amado Mendes.No Verão de 2014, o autoproclamado Estado Islâmico (EI) transformou completamente o panorama político do Médio Oriente ao colocar-se na condição de força insurgente para instaurar uma nova ordem mundial. Por um lado, a sua motivação e ação obsessiva e desenfreada pela conquista territorial, bem como as estratégias e táticas subversivas que utiliza, não só para tomar mas para manter a ocupação dos territórios, têm-lhe permitido alcançar uma força e um poder preponderante. Por outro lado, a pretensão em criar um Califado fiel aos preceitos originais do Islão, e assim conseguir um Estado hegemónico com o objetivo de islamização do mundo, tem levado a aproveitar-se dos vazios de poder e da fraqueza e instabilidade dos Estados do Médio Oriente e do Norte de África, subjugando territórios e desrespeitando a sua identidade e fronteiras. A utilização de formas clássicas de ocupação e conquista de espaço pela via militar coerciva, com vista à criação de um Império Islâmico Pan-Regional, levou-nos a questionar se a expansão territorial do EI e a construção do novo Califado reavivam as ideias preconizadas pela Geopolítica Clássica da Escola Alemã. Este trabalho objetiva os conceitos de Espaço Vital, Autarcia, Fronteira Natural Elástica, Pan-Região e Hegemonia que estão subjacentes à Geopolítica Alemã. A dissertação evoluiu em torno desta questão, examinando a relação entre os referidos pressupostos no modus operandi da conquista territorial do EI. A ascensão deste foi abordada por forma a esclarecer as suas origens, a sua organização e pretensões, à luz da Teoria Realista das Relações Internacionais.
A pesquisa concluiu que a expansão territorial e a construção do novo Califado evidenciam a atualidade dos pressupostos da Geopolitik considerada “morta” por alguns autores
