The study was conducted in two cluster secondary schools in Kelantan state to see the relationship between the overall quality management (TQM) element and teacher satisfaction. This quantitative study involved 130 teachers from the school. A set of questionnaire forms comprising respondents’ demographic information, TQM constructs consisting of top management commitments, relationships with suppliers, continuous improvement, product innovation, benchmarking, teacher engagement, recognition and rewards, education and training, customer focus and satisfaction constructs Teacher work has been distributed. The data were analyzed using SPSS Version 18 software for descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The findings of Pearson’s Correlation analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between the TQM element and the job satisfaction of the teachers in the cluster secondary school. This suggests that the rewards received by teachers were not encouraging in improving job satisfaction among teachers in the cluster secondary school in Kelantan. Suggestions for a new mechanism can be created in rewarding and recognizing teachers to improve their job satisfaction at the school and this will instill a world-class educational excellence
This action research was conducted to improve the mastery of proverbs in the Malay language subject for 3 Level Two primary school students through the JUPERMA 1.0 game. JUPERMA 1.0 is an acronym for Jutaria innovation with Malay Proverbs that is an innovative idea from the Jutaria game. It is a board game combined with digital tools in line with the latest technological developments that help students achieve effectiveness in learning proverbs. The main issue among primary school students is the weakness of students in mastering proverbs which in turn will affect their ability to write Malayalam essays. This happens because they do not understand the meaning of some proverbs which causes them to be unable to answer the questions and their writing becomes ungrammatical. This innovation is designed using materials that are cheap, easy to find and also use waste materials in the effort of environmental sustainability, in addition to the use of digital applications to further increase students\u27 interest in this innovation. The results of this action research were collected by using several research instruments, namely observation, pre-test and final test as well as interviews throughout the intervention process. Through this JUPERMA 1.0 innovation, there is an increase in students\u27 interest and understanding in Malay proverbs through the concept of didik hibur which is highlighted in this action study. It is hoped that the JUPERMA 1.0 innovation can be implemented as a teaching aid for teachers in the classroom in line with the learning trend of the 21st century through the application of interesting animation not only for students in primary school, but also for students in secondary school

Research on the identification of the involvement and motivation of pre service teachers at the Malaysian Teacher Education Institute (MTEI) with volunteerism activities for the Disabled is needed to provide basic information to MTEI administrators in designing volunteer programs to encourage pre service teachers to contribute in the community service activities especially to the disability group. This descriptive study aimed to identify the motivation of pre-service teachers’ involvement in volunteering activities to help the disabled and 70 respondents of pre-service teachers from the Kota Bharu Campus Teacher Education Institute (KBCTEI) were involved in this study. The instrument used was the adaptation questionnaire from the Katz Function Theory (1960) and was modified based on the Volunteer Function Inventory (VFI). Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics (Statistical Packages for Social Sciences) Version 19.0 software for Windows to obtain standardized data of percentages, frequency, mean and standard deviation. A pilot study was conducted and found that the Alpha Cronbach\u27s alpha was 0.92. The study found that the value function (mean=4.32) and comprehension function (mean=4.31) were the highest motivating factors contributing to the involvement of pre-service teachers in volunteering to assist the disabled. The study also found that gender factors did not significantly influence the involvement of KBCTEI pre-service teachers in volunteering to assist the disabled. However, there was a significant difference between male and female pre-service teachers for improving function (t=3.14, p<0.05), protection function (t=4.14, p<0.05) and career (t=2.88, p<0.05). The findings of the study provide implications for the needs of volunteer program planning and services for people with disabilities by MITE administrators to foster a positive volunteer spirit among pre-service teachers
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Simulation and sequential operation analysis of a robotic cell
The use of robotics has enjoyed increasing popularity among manufacturers. To be competitive, every area of manufacturing must be coordinated in a highly integrated but flexible environment. Robotics offers a technology with which the integration of related activities as well as the flexibility to adapt to product changes can be achieved. In this paper, a robotic cell is developed using GRASP2000 software according to the real world scenario of production. The model consists of CNC milling machine, CNC lathe machine, conveyor system (roller type) and racking shelves. The simulation is conducted to show the overall process involved in this robotic cell. Then the sequential operation analysis is conducted to get the feasible optimum cycle time to complete a set of manufacturing operation task. The sequential operation analysis reveals that the total robot cycle time is equal to the total system cycle time for a set of manufacturing operation
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
