Francesco Pecoraro, a contemporary Italian writer still active today, has been a prominent name in literary criticism, especially after his first novel, La vita in tempo di pace (2013), was published. Furthermore, critical scholars, such as Andrea Cortellessa (2013; 2014), draw attention to the inexorable character of the story of the protagonist Ivo Bradani, whose development works backward, interspersing a narrative frame in the present with recent moments of Italian history. Indeed, Pecoraro\'s first novel has particular relevance in the writer\'s career. However, it presents themes, characters, vocabulary, and more that were already present in the author\'s previous works, especially his earliest, a book of short stories published in 2007 whose title is Dove credi di andare. After these considerations, this dissertation aims to introduce Francesco Pecoraro through the study of the seven short stories that compose his first book, from the development of three axes of analysis: first, considerations are made about Francesco Pecoraro\'s life and work, in order to bring out the writer\'s previous and subsequent legacy related to Dove credi di andare, along with comments about his other books and his position in the contemporary Italian literary scenario, the ?anos zero\' (DONNARUMMA, 2014); second, the intention is to reflect about the elements that provide a narrative unit to the book and an expressive continuity between the short stories from the particular analysis of their style; finally, the third axe points to the middle man poetic, a concept created to demonstrate how the protagonists\' mediocrity comes from the unease of the subject in the present times (called -hypermodern? by the philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky (2004)), inheritor of the inetto character, which archetype appears mainly in the work of the Italian writer Italo Svevo. In conclusion, it is possible to observe that Francesco Pecoraro\'s works represent an innovation worth bringing to the Brazilian public\'s knowledge, considering that this preliminary and unprecedented analysis will illustrate the three mentioned axes, so new possibilities to study Pecoraro\'s books can arise in Brazil

During the twentieth century, one of the fundamental criteria in the study of the relationship between micro and macro texts was the distinction (already made by Maria Corti) between author and editorial instances, hence the differentiation between macro texts properly understood and collections of stories and prose. However, it would seem that the (by now fully) passing through the two-millennium period imposed a revision of the theoretical instruments and study models indicated as fundamental for the understanding of literary modernity. The essay addresses the problem of those hybrid literary forms, such as Questa e altre preistorie (Firenze, Le Lettere, 2008) by Francesco Pecoraro, in which the passage from one web media space (the blog) to another of the editorial tradition (the volume) has produced a sui generis work, in which the granular brevitas typical of texts born on the web is given in reading through a unitary editorial form.

In the present work the behavior of a fundamental Tensegrity structure is analyzed: the T-Bar. This structural typology has been already studied by one of the author. In this work a generalizations of previous obtained results is presented due to the accounting for the global instability phenomenon that was neglected in previous studies. The goal of the study herein presented is to establish when the use of a T-Bar can lead to a mass saving when compared with a solid bar subjected to the same load and having the same length

Detection, characterization and sizing of hydrogen induced cracking in pressure vessels using phased array ultrasonic data processing

Pressure vessels operating in sour service conditions in refinery environments can be subject to the risk of H2S cracking resulting from the hydrogen entering into the material. This risk, which is related to the specific working conditions and to the quality of the steel used, shall be properly managed in order to maintain the highest safety at a cost-effective level. Nowadays the typical management strategy is based on a risk based inspection (RBI) evaluation to define the inspection plan used in conjunction with a fitness for service (FFS) approach in defining if the vessel, although presenting dangerous defects such as cracks, can still be considered “fit for purpose” for a given time window based on specific fracture mechanics analysis. These vessels are periodically subject to non-destructive evaluation, typically ultrasonic testing. Phased Array (PA) ultrasonic is the latest technology more and more used for this type of application. This paper presents the design and development of an optimized Phased Array ultrasonic inspection technique for the detection and sizing of hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) type flaws used as reference for comparison. Materials used, containing natural operational defects, were inspected in “as-service” conditions. Samples have then been inspected by means of a “full matrix capture” (FMC) acquisition process followed by “total focusing method” (TFM) data post processing. FCM-TFM data have been further post-processed and then used to create a 3D geometrical reconstruction of the volume inspected. Results obtained show the significant improvement that FMC/TFM has over traditional PA inspection techniques both in terms of sensitivity and resolution for this specific type of defect. Moreover, since the FMC allows for the complete time domain signal to be captured from every element of a linear array probe, the full set of data is available for post-processing. Finally, the possibility to reconstruct the geometry of the component from the scans, including the defects present in its volume, represents the ideal solution for a reliable data transferring process to the engineering function for the subsequent FFS analysi

In 1942 Giuseppe Ungaretti entrusts to Arnoldo Mondadori’s publishing house the publication of all of his works. After the first two books, L’Allegria (Milano 1942) and Sentimento del Tempo (Milano 1943), in 1945 the critic Giuseppe De Robertis edits the third one, entitled Poesie disperse, which contains also the variants of all Ungaretti’s poems. That’s the first example of critical edition of the texts of a living author. The paper presents the birth, the evolution and the realization of this book through the analysis of the correspondence between Ungaretti and De Robertis (edited by Domenico De Robertis in 1984) and the unpublished one between De Robertis and the roman critic Enrico Falqui, which is made up of 1539 missives (letters and postcards) written from 1933 to 1963. The missives they exchanged in 1942 and 1943 are fundamental to understand the philological approach of De Robertis and how the advices given by Falqui (who, actually, was not a philologist) influenced him

2016 - 2017The normal heart rhythm is guaranteed by an important intercellular junctions system, named Gap Junction (GJs). Each GJs consists of two units called connexons formed by six specific trans-membrane proteins named connexins (Cx). Recent reports suggest the presence of Cx43 in the inner mitochondrial membrane where it plays an important cardioprotection mechanism. Alterations in Cx43 expression and distribution were observed in several myocardium disease; i.e. in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure and ischemia. Thus, in this doctoral study, we investigated the role of Cx43, and in particular of mitochondrial Cx43, in different cardiomyopaties models... [edited by Author]XXX cicl
