Adaptation of M. Kernis – A. Paradise «The Contingent Self-Esteem Scale»
The article contains the results of adaptation and standardization of Russian version of M. Kernis – A. Paradise “The Contingent Self-Esteem Scale” received the translated title “The External Determinants of Self-Attitude Scale”. This scale includes 15 items and is aimed to measure reactivity of self-attitude in relation to external (situational) determinants. The study sample consisted of 440 participants (301 females, 139 males, with a mean age of 18,9 years). The Russian-language version of the technique was verified in terms of internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha is 0,819), test-retest reliability (after two weeks the Spearman correlation coefficient is 0,805 p<0,01, after four weeks it is 0,782, p<0,01), discriminative ability (Spearman correlation coefficients range from 0,411 to 0,756, p<0,01), external and construct validity. Standardization information is presented as a table for interpretation raw data into stens. The results prove that “The External Determinants of Self-Attitude Scale” is a convenient psychological diagnostic tool and has all the necessary psychometric qualities. Further research steps are associated with standardization within other age groups and refinement of evidence of external and construct validity.</jats:p
Effect of carrier properties on surface characteristics of sorbents modified with acetylacetonates Ni (II), Cu (II)
Sorbents based on Chromaton N-AW with layers of mesoporous silica gel modified with acetylacetonate nickel (II) and copper (II) were obtained. The porous structure of sorbents based on synthesized silica gel and industrial samples of Chromaton N, Silipore 075, Silochrom C-120 was studied. All studied samples are mesoporous. For sorbents based on commercially available Chromaton N, Silipore 075, and Silochrome 120, the mesopore dimensions vary in a wide range from 10 to 50 nm. For synthesized silica gel and chelate-containing sorbents, a narrower pore distribution is observed in the range of 5-15 nm, which indicates the uniformity of its surface. A comparative analysis of the effect of carrier properties on the acid-base properties of the surface of chelate-containing sorbents is carried out. The acid-base nature of the modifier is more pronounced in the case of synthesized silica gel by the sol-gel method

Cdk1-regulated diphosphodegron tags for controlled protein expression
Cyclin dependent kinases (CDKs) regulate the cell cycle by phosphorylating downstream
proteins in an ordered manner. In yeast S. cerevisiae, Cdk1 regulates the cell cycle
progression from G1 to M phase. Cdk1 phosphorylation can have various effects on the
proteins, for example, they can be activated or targeted for degradation. The latter was used in
this work to design a regulatory network for controlled protein expression that could be used
in cell factories. For this, Far1-based diphosphodegron tags that are degraded in response to
phosphorylation by Cdk1, were used to differentially regulate the levels of the transcriptional
repressor TetR. Furthermore, as cell factories require dynamic control of protein levels over
the cultivation process, the effect of cell culture density on cell cycle and the degron tags was
studied. The work shows that Far1-based degron tags can be used as modular tags to regulate
exogenous proteins by switching them on or off in an OD-dependent manner using the
endogenous Cdk1 machinery. Finally, it was shown that more complex patterns of regulation
can be achieved by inducing expression of cyclins at high OD
Synthesis and study of the composition and properties of chelate complexes of benzoyl acetonates of rare-earth elements and use of these in gas chromatography
Chelate complex cerium [Ce(BA)3)] and europium [Eu(BA)3] benzoyl acetonates were synthesized. According to IR spectroscopic data and elemental analyses, the composition of the complexes is described by the empirical formulas M(BA)3·2H2O. Sorbents based on a mesoporous silica gel modified with cerium and europium benzoyl acetonates were obtained. The nitrogen porosimetry demonstrated that, as the complexes are deposited onto the surface of the starting support, the specific surface area and the pore volume become smaller. The polarity of the sorbents Chromaton N-AW + SiO2 + M(BA)3 with respect to all classes of test compounds decreases in the order CeIII > EuIII. According to the data obtained for the capacity factors, the sorbent modified with cerium benzoyl acetonate selectively separates alcohols, and Chromaton N-AW + SiO2 with deposited chelates Eu(BA)3 shows the best separating capacity for alkanes and alcohols. It was shown that the sorbents can be used in practice for separating gaseous mixtures of light hydrocarbons
The etiological structure, biological properties of causative agents of peri-implant mucositis
The purpose was to examine the peri-implant mucositis microflora and sensitivity of dominant pathogens to antibiotics and antiseptics.
Materials and methods. The study involved 43 patients with peri-implant mucositis. During the study 162 clinical strains of microorganisms were isolated and identified. Cultivation of clinical isolates was performed by the standard method, final identification was carried out with using bacteriological automatic analyzer Vitec – 2compact bioMérieux (France). Determination of sensitivity to antibiotics of pathogens was carried with disc-diffusion method; the study of sensitivity to antiseptics was carried by means of double serial dilutions method by the standard procedure approved by the Order № 167 of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine on “On Approval of Training Guidance “Assessment of the sensitivity of microorganisms to antibiotics”, dated by April, 5, 2007.
Results. It is The microflora of peri-implant area of patients with mucositis was revealed to consist of opportunistic species. Representatives of Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus spp. were dominating among them, although Kocuria spp., Enterobacter spp. and yeast-like fungi Candida spp. were detected quite common. Investigated clinical strains of microorganisms had different sensitivity to antibiotics. All cultures were sensitive to fluoroquinolones, but very significant number of them showed resistance to penicillins, macrolides and lincosamides. In turn, horosten, dekasan and chlorhexidine had powerful antimicrobial effect on dominant pathogens of periimplant mucositis in patients. Moreover, the effect of decametoxine-based antiseptics on some of them significantly exceeded the activity of chlorhexidine.
Conclusions. Microflora from peri-implant area of patients with peri-implant mucositis consists mainly of aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms, belonging to normal oral microflora. Most of pathogens of mucositis obtaine resistance to antibiotics (penicillins, macrolides, lincosamides). Modern antiseptics horosten, decasan and chlorhexidine provide a strong antimicrobial activity against etiological pathogens of mucositis, that makes them promising for use in dental implantology
