    Ultrasound diagnosis of anterior iliopsoas impingement in total hip replacement.

    Iliopsoas impingement syndrome, an infrequent complication of total hip replacement, has been rarely reported in the radiological literature. It follows chronic friction of the posterior aspect of the iliopsoas muscle and tendon against the acetabular cup, a piece of cement, or cup fixation screws. Clinical findings are non-specific and an imaging modality is required to diagnose the condition. Computed tomography (CT) is considered the gold standard imaging modality in evaluating iliopsoas impingement. We report a case of a patient in which the diagnosis was made by ultrasound and later confirmed by CT

    Although if fractures of the lateral process of the talus (LPT) have been considered rare the widespread diffusion in snowboard practice has resulted in a dramatic increase in their frequency. If unrecognized they can result in secondary osteoarthritis of the ankle and/or talo-calcaneal joints and chronic pain and stiffness. Due to the complex anatomy of the region, these fractures are difficult to detect by standard radiographs. A high degree of suspicion is then necessary to diagnose them. Once suspected on the basis of physical examination and/or non concluding radiographs, computed tomography (CT) is the best modality to confirm the diagnosis and accurately appreciate the number of the fragments and their position which have therapeutic consequences (medical vs. surgical treatment). A better knowledge of these lesions seems necessary to the general radiologist to allow an early diagnosis in order to avoid chronic sequel.     Oxaliplatin-induced hemolytic anemia during adjuvant treatment of a patient with colon cancer: A case report

    We report the case of a 64-year-old patient who developed autoimmune hemolytic anemia with thrombocytopenia and acute renal failure shortly after the infusion of the 11th cycle of adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin, folinic acid and 5-fluorouracil (FOLFOX 4), and was successfully treated by means of plasmapheresis, corticosteroids and dialysis. To the best of our knowledge, only seven other cases have been described in the literature, but we believe this serious adverse event induced by oxaliplatin is more frequent than this would suggest. © 2007 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc

Busca-se ainda, avaliar a for?a das revistas pedag?gicas, em especial a Revista Nova Escola, como uma ferramenta para difundir ideias e pr?ticas em educa??o. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se, uma an?lise bibliogr?fica e as an?lises de edi??es da Revista Nova Escola.     The present monography aims to carry out an in-depth study regarding the financing of the Integral education by the municipality of Itatiba do Sul, with emphasis on "More education"-developed by Municipal education. In this sense, will be on the understandings that programme strokes while national public policy, as well as the structuring of public policies in Brazil. With support in the bibliographic references and concepts extracted in the understandings gained in class of the course will be a parallel between what recommends the existing legislation and the specificities of reality under study. Thus, the theoretical framework will of differentiation between the public policies of Government and public policy of the State/nation; the financing of education in Brazil and its revenue sources and forms of use. The strategy funds policy presents in detail the understandings on the maintenance and development of elementary school and of appreciation of the teaching profession (FUNDEF), describing the process of transformation into a National Fund for development of basic education and of professional education (FUNDEB) currently in force. Will be addressed too few understandings about the Salary and Wage floor Education National Professional. It is worth mentioning that the whole trajectory of these public policies and their understandings will be presented with the support of theoretical postulates, bringing them the light of the reality of the study population, flagship of this scientific work. Thus, after the contextualization will be held notes on investments with more education Program by the municipal network. To this end, will make a study of the financial management of the program, their positives and negatives. Finally, the work will progress on the issue of funding set out in the Bill of the National Education Plan (PNE) 2011-2020 that clears the Senate and advances that are possible in relation to the financing from the allocation of 75% of oil royalties for education and 50% of the funds for the subsalt area of education and health.O presente Trabalho de Conclus?o de Curso tem por objetivo realizar um estudo a respeito do financiamento da Educa??o Integral junto ao munic?pio de Itatiba do Sul, com ?nfase no Programa ?Mais Educa??o?- desenvolvido pela Rede Municipal de Ensino. Nesse sentido, ser?o tra?ados entendimentos sobre o referido programa enquanto pol?tica p?blica nacional, bem como, a estrutura??o das pol?ticas p?blicas de educa??o no Brasil. Com apoio nas concep??es extra?das nos referenciais bibliogr?ficos e os entendimentos adquiridos nas aulas do curso, ser? tra?ado um paralelo entre o que preconiza a legisla??o vigente e as especificidades da realidade em estudo. Sendo assim, o referencial te?rico vai da diferencia??o entre as pol?ticas p?bicas de governo e as pol?ticas p?blicas do Estado/Na??o; o Financiamento da Educa??o no Brasil e suas fontes de arrecada??o e formas de utiliza??o. A estrat?gia da pol?tica de fundos apresenta detalhadamente os entendimentos sobre o Fundo de Manuten??o e desenvolvimento do Ensino Fundamental e de Valoriza??o do Magist?rio (FUNDEF), descrevendo o processo de transforma??o em Fundo Nacional de desenvolvimento da educa??o B?sica e dos profissionais da educa??o (FUNDEB) em vigor atualmente. Ser?o abordados tamb?m alguns entendimentos sobre o Sal?rio Educa??o e do Piso Salarial Profissional Nacional. Cabe destacar que toda a trajet?ria destas pol?ticas p?blicas e seus entendimentos ser?o apresentados com apoio dos postulados te?ricos, trazendo-os sempre ? luz da realidade da popula??o de estudo, carro chefe deste trabalho cient?fico.
