Kritik Metodologi: Perspektif Muhammad Abed Al-Jabiri
No full textABSTRACTAl-Jabiri is one of the Islamic thinkers who is concerned about efforts to reform in the realm of epistemology. The more value that this figure has is his ideas that always take inspiration from the Islamic tradition (Arabic), as much as possible avoiding the adoption of ideas derived from outside traditions, especially Europe, as well as other reform thinkers. The purpose of the study that the author did is to be able to know and understand the criticism methodology perspective abed al-jabiri. The method that the author uses in writing this work is in the form of literature studies, using cauldron analysis methods and using primary and secondary data sources. The conclusion of this research is Al-Jabiri criticized the epistemology of buhani, bayani, and irfani. According to abed al-Jabiri bayani based on burhani and built more rationally, then al-Jabiri completely reject the epistemology irfani because bayani can be eroded by irfani.Keywords: Abed al-Jabiri, Burhani, ‘Irfani, and Bayani.INTISARIAl-Jabiri merupakan salah satu tokoh pemikir Islam yang concern pada upaya pembaharuan dalam ranah epistemologi. No full textThis article anaylizes the philosophical and episthemological exposition of the contemporary Arab thinker, Muhammad Abed Al-Jabiri. As a leading Maroccan Muslim thinker, Abed al-Jabiri in renowned for his idea of combating‘irrationalism’ and that of promoting rasionalism in formulating Islamic thought. He comes to believe that Islamic teachings should be seen as a set of ideas com- patible with rationality and scientific notions. In his analyisis, Abed al-Jabiri pro- poses three streams of Islamic epistemological models: bayani, burhani and ‘irfani. By exploring these three epistemological concepts, the author goes further by exploring the authority of text in Muslim society and how to contextualize and read religious texts in modern time

Functional Characterization of AbeD, an RND-Type Membrane Transporter in Antimicrobial Resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii.
No full textAcinetobacter baumannii is becoming an increasing menace in health care settings especially in the intensive care units due to its ability to withstand adverse environmental conditions and exhibit innate resistance to different classes of antibiotics. Here we describe the biological contributions of abeD, a novel membrane transporter in bacterial stress response and antimicrobial resistance in A. baumannii.The abeD mutant displayed ~ 3.37 fold decreased survival and >5-fold reduced growth in hostile osmotic (0.25 M; NaCl) and oxidative (2.631 μM-6.574 μM; H2O2) stress conditions respectively. The abeD inactivated cells displayed increased susceptibility to ceftriaxone, gentamicin, rifampicin and tobramycin (~ 4.0 fold). The mutant displayed increased sensitivity to the hospital-based disinfectant benzalkonium chloride (~3.18-fold). In Caenorhabditis elegans model, the abeD mutant exhibited (P<0.01) lower virulence capability. Binding of SoxR on the regulatory fragments of abeD provide strong evidence for the involvement of SoxR system in regulating the expression of abeD in A. baumannii.This study demonstrates the contributions of membrane transporter AbeD in bacterial physiology, stress response and antimicrobial resistance in A. baumannii for the first time
