"Né epistole né poemi" : la terza via di Bettinelli poeta
The present paper ex-amines the features of Bettinelli’s poetry in blank verse. Through the free hendecasyllable, indeed, Bettinelli aimed at becoming the promoter of a new poetic vogue. Between overtures to the new and loyalty to the classics, the argumentative typology of the free verse is regarded not only as the vehicle for philosophical and scientific content, which restores important civil function to poetic expression, but also to the Beautiful, as a guarantee of stylistic redemption unlike rhymed poetry

Modeling the lattice parameters of zircon-type MXO4 (M=divalent, trivalent or tetravalent metal, X=V, P, As, Si) crystals
The relations between the crystal lattice parameters and the properties of the constituting ions in a group of 109 compounds with the general formula MXO4 (M stands for a divalent, trivalent or tetravalent metal, and X=V, P, As, Si) having the zircon-type structure are considered in the present paper. It was shown that both a and c lattice parameters are linear functions of the sum of ionic radii and difference of electronegativities of the M ions and oxygen. The mean relative error between the experimental and modeled crystal lattice parameters is only about 0.23%. The linear equations of the model can be readily applied to estimate the lattice parameters of new compounds with the same crystal structure. Several two-dimensional diagrams plotted for certain combinations of the properties of constituting ions and experimental lattice constants suggest criteria of stability for the considered zircon-type structure
Optical spectroscopy of Cr3+ ions in orthoenstatite MgSiO3
The absorption, luminescence and excitation electronic spectra of MgSiO3 doped with chromium were measured in the visible and near infrared regions at temperatures down to 10 K. The optical spectraare composed of both broad bands and sharp lines, showing the presence of Cr3+ substituting for both non-equivalent Mg2+ ions in distorted octahedral sites of high and low ligand field strength respectively. All the spectral features were assigned and a preferred occupation of the low field sites was evidenced. © 1993

Pressure effects on the luminescence properties of CaWO4:Pr3+
Steady state and time resolved emission measurements of CaWO4 doped with Pr3+ have been carried out as a function of hydrostatic pressure in the 1-315 kbar range. The increase of pressure induces several effects: a progressive red shift of the spectral features and a decrement of the decay times of both P-3(o) and D-1(2) emitting levels, the decrease of the intensity of the P-3(o) emission, that is completely quenched at around 100 kbar, and the increase of the 1D2 emission intensity in the 1-120 kbar range followed by a fast decrease at higher pressures. In addition, a variation in the structure of the emission manifolds has been observed in the 80-100 kbar range as a consequence of the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transition of the host lattice induced by pressure. These effects have been accounted for by means of a model that takes into account the role played by a praseodymium trapped exciton in the excited state dynamics of the investigated material
