Heredity properties of connectedness in edge-coloured complete graphs

    No full text
AbstractIf the monochromatic graphs G1 and G2 in a 2-edge-coloured complete graph Km (m⩾6) are connected, then there exist at least two vertices x such that the graphs G1⧹x and G2⧹x are also connected. Similar theorems are proved for k-edge-coloured complete graphs. They generalize earlier results of Idzik et al. [Discrete Math. 66 (1987) 119–125]. Examples are shown that analogous theorems are no longer true for 3-uniform complete hypergraphs

    AbstractLet G be an undirected m-connected graph,{ν1, …, νm} its different vertices, {V1, …, Vm} a partition of V(G), νi ∈ Vi and G(Vi) connected for i = 1, …, m. If /s|V1/s| > 1, then there exists a partition {V′1, …, V′m} of V(G) such that /s|V′1/s| = /s|V1/s| − 1, /s|V′i/s| = /s|Vi/s| for i = 2, …, m − 1, Vm ⊂ V′m, νi ∈ V′i and G(V′i) is connected for i = 1, …, m. An algorithm for such described transfering of vertices is given

Considering all the rarity of thyrotropic hormone secreting adenoma it is a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge in part due to the lack of the preoperative standards. TSH-oma, besides hyperthyroidism symptoms, might be a cause of other endocrine disorders, most often dysfunction of other tropic axes and may cause neurological symptoms associated with sella expansion. We report a case of a 49-year-old male patient with macroadenoma, overt clinical hyperthyroidism, secondary adrenal insufficiency and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. The diagnosis of thyrotropinoma was confirmed by blood tests that revealed elevated FT3 and FT4 levels together with high TSH. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) test was performed and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging revealed the presence of macroadenoma. Histopathology examination confirmed the diagnosis of thyrotropic cell pituitary adenoma. The appropriate therapy for thyrotropin pituitary adenoma has not been elaborated in reports of this domain. Preoperatively the patient was prepared by long-acting somatostatin analogue (Sandostatin LAR) injections to reduce tumor size with good therapeutic effect afterwards underwent surgical transsphenoidal treatment successfully. However, specific treatment guidelines for pituitary thyrotropic tumors need to be elaborated more in details. Key words: thyrotropinoma; secondary hyperthyroidism; somatostatin analogue; case report

Amides as thermo-sensitive tracers for investigating the thermal state of geothermal reservoirs

    No full text
The application of thermo-sensitive tracers is a promising technique for evaluating the thermal state of geothermal reservoirs. To extend the compound spectrum for hydrolyzable compounds to reservoir temperatures between 100 and 200 °C carboxamides were studied. The kinetic parameters of 17 self-synthesized amides were determined in hydrothermal batch and autoclave experiments. The influence of the molecular structure and the role of pH/pOH on hydrolysis kinetics were studied. Additionally, the thermal stabilities of the hydrolysis products were evaluated. The results demonstrate the high potential of tracers based on amide hydrolysis for use in medium enthalpy reservoirs

Pozycja konkurencyjna banków spółdzielczych w segmencie mikroprzedsiębiorstw

The objective of this paper is to evaluate the competitive position of the cooperative banks and their ability to create the growth trends and effectively acquire new customers in the micro-company segment. The sources of the empirical data were the results of the nation-wide surveys conducted on a representative sample of N = 800 companies with up to 10 employees and an annual turnover of up to 2 m EUR. The analysis included the market shares, familiarity, brand potential and image as well as the customer satisfaction. The cooperative banks do not fully use their advantages in building their competitive advantage. A stable base of the “regular” customers contributes to their high market shares. The cooperative banks are not preferred by the prospective customers. The competitive position of the cooperative banks is based on the niche areas where the cooperative banks operate and the service costs as well as the emotional circumstances of operating on the local market. The application of the marketing tools is inevitable and should be the elementary part of the support provided for the cooperative banks.</jats:p

    Prace Antonia Gaudiego manifestem katalonizmu?

Masterworks of Antoni Gaudí as the Manifestation of Catalanism? Catalonia is an autonomous community in Spain, possessing a unique culture. This is meticulously preserved, not only by intellectuals, but also by its citizens, who hold their individual language, common history and traditions in the highest esteem. It is the perfect example of a nation without a state, truly dedicated to the peaceful struggle for survival of its exceptional individuality. The article explains how the historical relationship between Catalonia and Spain has awakened the Catalonian sense of individuality and the will to fight for its rights, leading to the creation of a separate political idea – Catalanism. For the major part of the article the author presents the views on the Catalan issue as expressed by Antoni Gaudí – one of the most distinguished of Catalans
