«Potrei scriverlo tutto in seconda persona».

In narratological terms, If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler is a you-narrative, that is, a narrative revolving around a ‘you’. This article aims at explaining both the way in which Calvino employed this formal device, and its importance within the textual construction. After focusing on the enunciative dynamics underlying the novel, I will reflect on the choice of a ‘you’ as part of a wider discourse concerning the relationship between author and reader, as well as the broader textual experience that Calvino aims to represent

The thesis examines issues related to qualification problems that arise when qualifying criminal offences under Paragraph 3 of Article 125, Article 116 and Article 123 of the Criminal Law, since all of the Articles have common harmful consequences of the death of victim. The case law shows that the problem of delimitation arises because of the absence of analysis of the subjective side of the criminal offence, leading to incorrect qualification of such criminal offences. The author has discovered in the thesis that qualification problems mostly arise with regards to the qualification of the Paragraph 3 of Article 125 of the Criminal Law, due to the lack of sufficient analysis of the subjective side. In order to qualify these three criminal offences, one has to find out exactly what the intention of the offender was against the committed offence. Therefore the author has proposed to exclude from the Paragraph 3 of the Article 125 of the Criminal Law: “For intentional infliction of serious bodily injury which, as a result of the negligence of the offender, has been the cause of the death of the victim or”, thereby making the subjective analysis of the criminal offence easier and facilitating the work of persons conducting the proceedings in order to minimize the amount of problems relating to delimitation in the mentioned Articles of the Criminal Law

    Il rischio e la notte

The author of this article aims to shed light on the sociological and anthropological meanings of the concept of “risk” with special regards the night-time social life. As a starting hypothesis, author claims that the concept of risk maintains a great esplicatory power, which is extremly helpful to clarify some social contemporary dynamics. A first general proof is the widespread use of the notion of risk in the conteporary debates. As a matter of fact, the diffusion and the persistence in the use of expressions such as “risky situation”, “pleasure of risk”, “high risk activity”, etc.. make the same word “risk” a sort of pass-partout notion that refers in a very wider and general sense to any type of social fact where something dangerous occurs. Therefore, the chapter aims to contribute to a better understanding of the social dynamics, which can be intepreted as “risk taking”. Firstly, by discussing the social and anthropological roots of the concept; secondly, by making clear what is the semantic associated wth the nation of risk, which isnofar is widely spred but not really known. As a fact, no one really knows what is talking about whan talking of risk. Accordingly, the author takes this challenge by framing the analisys of risk within the study of leisure activities at night time. The idea discussed by the author is that the night has progressively lost its traditional function of period when all activities stopped. If traditionally the night wa the time of otium nowadays it becomes the time of negotium in different sectors of political, economic, cultural life. Thus, especially for leisure activities, the night is the time of risk, that is to say the moment where the different social sub-systems operate according to their medium of communication outside traditional frames and limitations, such as the ones narrated in the imaginary world of the fairy tales or given by the natural world. As a result, during the night the risk unveils its anthropological nature of sense generating notion, such as in the risk taking practices of many leisure activities. Moreover, the risk reveals a sociological structure of reciprocity for it recalls an imaginary relation with the death, wich is at the base of many symbolic productions

Milan in the poetry by Alda Merini · This article focuses on the way Milan is portrayed in Alda Merini’s writings. Totally missing in her first collections of poetry, which were imbued with abstract lyricism, real Milanese life starts to run wild in the Eighties when the author goes back to fiction after the dark years of psychiatric hospitalisation. It is especially the Naviglio that becomes an obsessive feature in her poems and novels. Far from providing the reassurance of a familiar place or opportunities for wistful sketches, the slow, steady, unswerving flow of the canal symbolises an oppressive productivepurpose. Meanwhile, the quirky crowd that lives in the surroundings is exposed to a distorting treatment that turns the laundresses – the queens of local folklore – into grim drunken Furies. Only amidst the lumpen can any remnant of human dignity be glimpsed. The author’s separation from the fundamental values of the ‘moral capital’ could not be more unequivocal

"A comparative analysis of 18 settings of Petrarch's ""Tutto'l dipiango; e poi la notte, quando"""

"This thesis compares eighteen different musical settings of the Petrarch sonnet ""Tutto'l di piango; e poi la notte, quando."" These settings include two unattributed recitation formulas from the Rocco Rodio Anthology and the Bottegari Lutebook, thirteen polyphonic settings by two anonymous composers, Girolamo Scotto, Cipriano de Rore, Vincenzo Ruffo, Sperindio Bertholdo, Francesco della Viola, Dominico Magiello, Orlando di Lasso, Francesco Portinaro, Filippo di Monte, and Luca Marenzio, and three monodies by Jacopo Peri, Giulio Caccini, and Sigismondo d'India. The purpose of the study is to trace the development of the relation of music and text in the Renaissance polyphonic and monodic madrigal. The Petrarch sonnet was chosen both because of the central literary importance of the trecento poet to the literary and musical aesthetics of sixteenth-century madrigal composers, and because of the stylistic breadth represented by the large number of musical settings of this particular sonnet."After the introductory chapter, the second chapter summarizes current research into the origins of the polyphonic Italian madrigal. The third chapter discusses the distinct and yet frequently intersecting artistic aims of the polyphonic and monodic madrigal styles, with special consideration of the influence of the oral tradition of the improvvisatori on both genres. The fourth chapter contains a detailed analysis of the poem itself, with emphasis on the interrelation of affective images, poetic form, and metrical structure. The final chapter details a comparative analysis of the eighteen musical settings. The investigation discovers surprisingly few examples of obvious direct borrowing of musical material, and yet does find numerous examples of the similar use of conventional techniques for musical text-setting. The most refined examples in both the polyphonic and monodic idioms are found to be those that musically reflect the meaning of the text on both the level of individual images and of poetic form.Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T12:51:09Z (GMT).
