“TO VICTORY” FOR VOCAL SEXTET AND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA BY OLENA ILNYTSKA: MYTHOPOETICS OF THE WORK

    No full text
The works of the Ukrainian composer Olena Ilnytska (born in 1977) are well known not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. Her works are performed by both domestic and foreign musicians. The piece “To Victory” for vocal sextet and symphony orchestra is an example of contemporary Ukrainian symphonism, combining Western European and national traditions with techniques of contemporary musical language. In it, as in other genres, the author\u27s mythopoetic thinking is evident. She reflects on a complex, historically established genre that has a philosophical basis in the history of world musical culture. “To Victory” is indicative both for understanding of mythopoetics of symphony music and the author’s symphonic thinking, which revealed itself in the skill of large-scale thinking, combining different musical-semantical intonation models, uniting them in an integrate structure. Mythologization takes place on genre, thematic, and timbre levels

Influence Specificities of the Type of Attitude towards a Disease on Physical Therapy Satisfaction Among the Orthopedic Profile Patients and the Possibilities of Attitude Improvement / Sergii Fedorenko, Volodymyr Vitomskyi, Olena Lazarieva, Vitaliy Kashuba, Olena Andrieieva, Maryna Vitomska, Potop Vladimir, Lytvynenko Yurii // Journal of Physical Education and Sport. – 2020. - Vol. 20(2). – Art. 128. - P. 896-904.Purpose: To determine the level of physical therapy satisfaction among outpatients with orthopedic profile disorders, based on the type of attitude to the disease, and the possibilities of its improvement. Material: The study involved 113 patients who completed a standard course of physical therapy during 2013– 2015, and 135 patientswho completed a course of physical therapy during 2016–2018 after physical therapy system modification. The level of patient’sphysical therapy satisfaction was measuredby means of a Physical Therapy Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PTPSQ). Patients were grouped by the type of attitude to the disease (psychotypes). The course of physical therapy comprised 12–15 classes. Results: The comparison of the results indicateda higher level ofphysical therapy satisfaction in almost half of the questionnaire domains in groups of the patients with rational psychotypes. Psychotypes influenced in particular the results ofthe "treatment", "privacy", "scheduling", "wait time", "overall satisfaction"domains. The largest difference was observed in the"treatment"domain The overall satisfaction score also confirmed a higher level of outpatient physical therapy satisfaction in groups of the patients with a rational attitude to the disease. Comparingscores of physical therapy satisfaction in the groups with similar psychotypesbut different physical therapy programsconfirmed the advantages of a modified system of physical therapy and implemented measures in several questionnaire domains. In particular, when comparing 2013–2015 patients and 2016–2018 patients, both with rational psychotypes, we observed significant advantages of 2016–2018 patients in the "treatment", "overall satisfaction"domains and overall PTPSQscore. Similar comparison of the patients with irrational psychotypes, in addition to the differences mentioned, showed a statistical difference in the "privacy"domain as well. At the same time, when comparing the results of 2016–2018 patients with irrational psychotypesand 2013– 2015 patients with rational psychotypes, we observed the advantages of the first ones in two domains ("treatment" and "privacy"). This confirms better performance of the means of a modified program and the measures of managing the system and physical therapy process itself at the outpatient level. Conclusions: The results of the study confirm the influence of the specificities of the attitude to the disease on physical therapy satisfaction among orthopedic profile patients at the outpatient level. At the same time, constructive changes of the physical therapy system, enhancing the role of a physical therapist, and taking into account patient's characteristics in managing physical therapy process have a positive effect on satisfaction

The article explores simulation of images of the author, the narrator and the reader in the fiction by Olena Pchilka. The problem of gender is investigated as well. The author’s communication strategy is included in the gender identity of the narrator and the reader (“dear reader”). The own model of the reader and the narrator is created: they are progressive women who strive to education and professional fulfillment. Ironic narrative determines the adjacency of the world view of the author and the readers who dispelled myths of a patriarchal society

The article is devoted to the improvement of the water resources management system at the territorial level. The article covers problems in different countries of the world, which are described in the water supply with an increase in the population of a harsh climate. Today, the existing trend shows that about two-thirds of forests and wetlands have been lost or degraded since the early 20th century, the soil was destroyed and deteriorated in quality. These trends predict floods and droughts, which in turn affects our ability to adapt to climate change. The analysis of the literature on the peculiarities of determining the main elements of influence on the use of water resources in the world is carried out. The article used a dialectical method, which is due to the need for analysis and generalization of certain aspects of scientific knowledge that analyze the availability of water resources in different parts of the world. Structural-functional analysis of the principle of systematic study of phenomena and processes is applied. With the help of the system-analytical method, the maintenance of the territories (areas) of Ukraine by local water resources is calculated, on average, per year, this m3 per person, based on the resource of surface water, as well as the exploration and catchment of groundwater. The decomposition of criteria for assessing the effectiveness of water resources management at the territorial level based on the integral territorial index is developed. According to the numerical value of the integrated territorial efficiency index, it is proposed to combine regions into homogeneous groups depending on the proximity or distance from the average value of this index

The article deals with the reception by Olena Pchilka the person and activity of Mykola Ilyich Storozhenko (1836–1906), a well-known literary critic, professor, head of the department of world literature at Moscow University, originally from Poltava region. Olena Pchilka is the author of an essay about him (1902) and a well-known obituary (1906), which was published in the magazine «Kievskaya Staryna». The peculiarity of the reception in these memoirs is caused by the installation on the reader: mentions of specific events in the essay-memoir (acquaintance in Moscow and celebration in 30th anniversary of Mykola Storozhenko's scientific and pedagogical activity) and, after the death, a summary of all the activities of the person, which takes the form of a literary portrait. First of all, it draws attention to the biographical dimension of Olena Pchilka's memoirs about Mykola Storozhenko, in which the tributes to a fellow countryman who has succeeded beyond the homeland are clearly traced. Mykola Storozhenko's letter to Olena Pchilka is first introduced into scientific circulation. The senior and authoritative M. Storozhenko was a recognized scientist, and this is always emphasized by the author of his memoirs, comprehending his life path. The heroes of her memoirs are not only M. Storozhenko, but also his scientific works, the environment in which he was, common acquaintances, days of which he was a part. In the memoirs there is a description of the appearance, psychological observations of the character of the protagonist and vivid episodic characters. It is a creative portrait of a scientist and public figure. Substantial information about Mykola Storozhenko's relations with fellow countrymen is provided. Not only the literary criticism but also the socio-cultural context of its activity is emphasized. Unconditional respect for the scientific work of Mykola Storozhenko in memoirs is combined with an indication of his merits for his native land

"Oh, My Thoughts, My Thoughts...": Olena Pchilka's and Lesia Ukrainka's Contributions to Epigraphic Embroidery

    No full text
The article focuses on the role of Olena Pchilka and Lesia Ukrainka in epigraphic embroidery development. Undoubtedly, Olena Pchilka was an ardent proponent of folk art purity. Following from this, there is a tendency to think that she was against all novelty in Ukrainian embroidery. Many researchers and antiquity enthusiasts refer to her authority when arguing against inscriptions on textile as a phenomenon resulting largely from printed cross-stitch on paper. However, not all embroidered verbal texts have been of print origin. Most of them were folkloric (or folklorized) texts. What is more, Olena Pchilka to some extent provided her own comment on epigraphic embroidery in approving Lesia Ukrainka’s rushnyk (embroidered runner) containing the inscription “Oh, my thoughts, my thoughts, woe is with you! Love one another, brethren, love Ukraine” (devoted to Taras Shevchenko). In modern embroidery, embroideresses reproduce the citation with new connotations of these words, thereby continuing the epigraphic embroidery tradition. The author illustrates the folklorization of oft-cited lines from Taras Shevchenko’s poetry with examples of epigraphic embroidery from her own Interactive Index of Folklore Formulas (Epigraphic Embroidery)
