A Quasilinear-Time Algorithm for Tiling the Plane Isohedrally with a Polyomino
A plane tiling consisting of congruent copies of a shape is isohedral provided that for any pair of copies, there exists a symmetry of the tiling mapping one copy to the other. We give a O(n*log^2(n))-time algorithm for deciding if a polyomino with n edges can tile the plane isohedrally. This improves on the O(n^{18})-time algorithm of Keating and Vince and generalizes recent work by Brlek, Provençal, Fédou, and the second author
Hernia estrangulada del hiato de Winslow
This is the first observation made in Uruguay of Winslow hiatus hermiation. The author includes a bibliograohical review of this disease. Followed by an an.alysis of its ethiological, anatomic and clinical characteristics. Its high mortality is accounted for delayed diagnosis. Simple radiology of the abdomen is of value in permitting an early diagnosis.
Navajo County central region transportation study : final report

Performance audit, Winslow Unified School District
abstract: In fiscal year 2012, Winslow Unified School District’s student achievement was similar to peer districts’ averages, but its cost-efficiency in noninstructional areas was mixed. The District’s per pupil administrative costs were much higher than peer districts’, on average, primarily because it employed more administrative positions. The District’s plant costs were higher primarily because it maintained a large amount of excess school building space, which was likely not needed because most of the District’s schools operated far below their designed capacities. The District’s food service program operated with slightly higher costs that may have been a result of it not sufficiently overseeing the vendor operating the program. The District’s transportation program operated in a reasonably efficient manner, despite having higher costs per pupil, but the District needs to strengthen controls over fuel purchases.Report (Arizona. Office of the Auditor General) ; 2014-20
Don Winslow, author of a classic work and other works from the Mexican and North- American (USA) narco realism
Anchored in what has been called the Narco Realism or Narconarrative, a border binational literary expression shared by both Mexico and the United States, we find Don Winslow, an author that thanks to his novelEl poder del perro — The dog’s power—, has been catapulted and that has settled down the aforementioned literary subgenre. From that standpoint, other novels that narrate the expression of organized crime, and its relations to the world of business and politics have widely spread. They account for a typical setting where the border is the natural space for the action and the narrated facts.

Stare Decisis and Originalism : A Comparative Analysis of Two Legal Appeals.
This paper analyzes and compares two primary interpretational methods for constitutional cases in the United States Supreme Court: stare decisis and originalism. Researchers have examined the practical value of these methods individually by their ability to effectively develop jurisprudence. However, authors rarely discuss the potency of their legitimizing force and seldom tie stare decisis and originalism together in their analysis. This gap in the conversation, along with developments to rhetorical attitudes of Justices epitomized in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, ultimately inspired the direction of this research– an attempt to define the relationship between the terms' historical significance and their use as a persuasive appeal. Though a concrete solution to blurring the line between law and opinion is perpetually evasive, recognizing the substantial similarities between applications to stare decisis and originalism is fundamental to de-politicizing the court's analysis of precedents and the Constitution
Beyond the stereotypes : an analysis on the impact of gender on political communication
This thesis explores the gender gap in politics and its influence on media portrayals of male and female politicians. Existing research presents a debate among scholars regarding the impact of gender bias and whether stereotypes affect electability and public perception. In the era of politics today, voters are surrounded by soundbites, viral moments and social media algorithms, candidates are evaluated not just on policy, but on how they align with broader societal themes. These platforms amplify gendered narratives and intensify scrutiny of female politicians’ appearance, tone and demeanor, reinforcing identity-based biases. Through my analysis of Geraldine Ferraro, the first female vice-presidential nominee for a major party, and Sarah Palin, the first female Republican vice-presidential nominee, this thesis examines how gender bias shaped the media coverage of their campaigns. By analyzing their speeches, it shows how both women navigated the gender expectations of their time. I argue that the gap in politics is still present today, within the different portrayals of female politicians. Politics is no longer solely focused on policy but increasingly defined by identity. When identity is embraced as a leadership strength rather than a barrier, it opens the door to a more inclusive political system and challenges traditional leadership norms. This comparative study of Ferraro and Palin reveals how gendered media portrayals have both evolved and endured, offering new insight into the ongoing discourse on gender and political communication
Piece about Winslow Homer and the newly restored Prouts Neck studio where he cre
Piece about Winslow Homer and the newly restored Prouts Neck studio where he created some of his greatest paintings and where he also created the myth of himself as a hermit. In reality, on Prouts Neck, he lived in close proximity to his brother and other residents of the summer colony that was developed by his father and brother. The author suggests that Homer\u27s later paintings reveal his growing realization that wilderness existed more and more as an idea
