    No full text
The present study empirically examines the financial performance of European companies and tries to identify the profitability differences that exist between: enterprises with same profile, economic sectors and between several countries from the European Union. Based on data of the year 2009, the newest available on the BACH-ESD database, three financial performance main indicators are being calculated, namely: Return on Assets, Return on Equity and Net Margin. Results are discussed and compared with the ones obtained in former similar studies and some conclusions are drawn. The most performing sectors are found to be mining, quarrying, professional, scientific and technical activities, utilities and IT&C. The sectors that perform the worst are transport and storage, agriculture, accommodation and food service. As shown in other studies the most profitable and competitive companies in the sample belong to the Nederland, Belgium and Austria and the least profitable ones are situated in Italy and Portugal. As a complementary useful result of the study, the average values obtained for the three variables, in the various sectors considered, can be utilized for future comparisons, for assessing the financial performance of companies that belong to same sectors as those surveyed. This paper is a dissemination of the results obtained by the author in the doctoral program "The financial performance of EU member states' companies", coordinator: Professor Carmen Corduneanu, PhD, carried out within West University of Timişoara, Romania, in the period October 2010- July 2012.financial performance, return on assets, return on equity, net margin, BACH-ESD database

Throughout the process carried out in the Diploma Course on Social Communication Networks, which included different phases that were developed within the PSO Circulo Violeta of the Universidad Sur Colombiana, information was gathered about the difficulties they presented as a female gender. Some of its purposes is to counteract harassment on the part of students and students for the women of this campus will not desert their academic careers. This organization has been concerned since 2001 to minimize this problem with experts in the field in this case is the legal clinic in the city of Neiva, which has work on various issues such as the care route for women and the diploma for the This is an issue that can not be said to be due to the fact that Miss Ivonne Ximena Ramírez Camacho has committed herself to this problem. their partners are no longer afraid to express what happens in their environment, because they as the organization to the development of women's empowerment, strengthening them through a political exercise so that they can demand their rights and respect their bodies, achieving a social transformation in a sexist genre. Following all these details with Círculo Violeta, I first had to contact the organization in order to collect more information for the interviews, in order to begin to develop the diagnosis and in this way to find out what their needs were and to support them. through an action plan, in this process of difficulties, that has an account of one of the failures presented by this presentation of the participation of the community with the contents of its Fan Page. By means of these needs a project of strategies that are communicated later and that allow the processes of integration with the community is achieved. The development of this work is carried out thanks to the Diploma of construction of social networks of communication of the information with the objective that the students identify themselves as direct or indirect to work for a social world that impacts the masses and this generates a greater social awareness

“Readers discovering Violeta Parra for the first time and those who wish to deepen their understanding of her will appreciate this illuminating book.” —Nancy Morris, Professor, Department of Media Studies and Production, Temple University, USA “The editor and her collaborators have given us a gift—the ability to ‘listen’ differently to the music and art that embodied a nation, a social era, and a singular artist.” —Steve J. Stern, Alberto Flores Galindo and Hilldale Professor of History, Emeritus, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA One of the leading figures in Latin American folk music and art during her lifetime, Violeta Parra was a vital force in the artistic, musical, visual, cultural, and social cultural production of the Chilean 1960s. Fifty years after her death, she continues to deeply influence artists of the present day. This book revisits Parra’s work and legacy to illustrate her global impact across artistic and political boundaries. Contributors offer multi-disciplinary perspectives that delineate how Parra contributed to shaping and—at the same time—antagonizing, societal processes in mid-20th century Chile. Patricia Vilches is Professor of Spanish and Italian and Scholar in Residence at Harlaxton College, UK and Professor of Spanish and Italian at Lawrence University, USA (retired). She is author of Blest Gana via Machiavelli and Cervantes: National Identity and Social Order in Chile (2017) and co-editor of Seeking Real Truths: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Machiavelli (2007).“Readers discovering Violeta Parra for the first time and those who wish to deepen their understanding of her will appreciate this illuminating book.” —Nancy Morris, Professor, Department of Media Studies and Production, Temple University, USA “The editor and her collaborators have given us a gift—the ability to ‘listen’ differently to the music and art that embodied a nation, a social era, and a singular artist.” —Steve J.
