Tooth Wear: Not Your Average Story
Contains fulltext :
319745.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access)Tooth wear is a common issue, often resulting in concerns for patients and dentists: how lang will the teeth last? This thesis shows that it is possible to accurately measure tooth wear using digital impressions of dentitions. Moreover, it appeared that a large group of tooth wear patients was showing only limited progression of wear after three years. For patients that did show a large increase in tooth wear it was easier to see where the tooth wear progression was located. This can aid dentists and patients in determining the best treatment, but also in what is causing the wear progression. In the practice of the future perhaps all patients will be scanned regularly: this allows us to not only monitor tooth wear, but possibly also the occurrence of caries or issues with the gum.Radboud University, 20 juni 2025Promotores : Loomans, B.A.C., Huysmans, M.C.D.N.J.M. Extended Resin Composite Restorations: Techniques and Procedures
This article gives an overview of the state of the art of different restorative treatment procedures and techniques needed for placing extended posterior resin composite restorations. Clinical aspects related to the procedure are discussed and reviewed based on the current literature, such as the use of proper adhesive restorative materials, use of liners and bases, moisture control, reconstruction of proximal contacts, extended resin composite restorations, and techniques to address restoring teeth with deep subgingival margins
