Geopolítica hidro-hegemónica china en la cuenca del río Mekong
Get PDFWater has particular connotations, intrinsically related to a series of asymmetries over its control. It has been the subject of frequent disputes or controversies between nations and states over its domination, which the literature calls bio-politics, hydro-politics or, as we will call it here, hydro-hegemony. The objective of the article is to identify asymmetries of power in the Mekong River Basin by China, contributing to the academic debate on China's hydro-politics strategies with its riparian neighbors. We will methodologically support this research in the state of the art on power asymmetries based on water resources, emphasizing the unequal power relations between riparian states and discussing the hypothesis of the water war with the intention of introducing basic concepts of hydropolitics to a Spanish-speaking audience. The conclusions offered by this research arrive, once the geopolitical importance of water is discussed, at unilateralist approaches by China, rejecting binding commitments when these may collide with national interests of supply and control over the water resource in the Mekong River Basin.El agua tiene connotaciones particulares, intrínsecamente relacionadas con una serie de asimetrías sobre su control. Ha sido objeto frecuente de diferendos o controversias entre naciones y Estados por su dominio, que la literatura denomina bio-política o hidro-política, y que aquí denominaremos hidro-hegemonía. El objetivo del artículo es identificar asimetrías de poder en la cuenca del río Mekong por parte de China, para contribuir al debate académico sobre las estrategias hidro-políticas del país asiático hacia sus vecinos ribereños. Nos basamos en el estado del arte sobre las asimetrías de poder fundamentadas en el recurso hídrico, poniendo el acento en las relaciones desiguales de poder entre Estados ribereños y discutiendo la hipótesis de la guerra del agua. Concluimos que China rechaza compromisos vinculantes cuando estos pueden colisionar con sus interesas nacionales de abastecimiento y control sobre el recurso hídrico en la cuenca del río Mekong

Get PDFThis work exposes the concept and definition given to violence through a multidisciplinary view of it, since it is not possible to carry out a general analysis of violent behavior without taking into account different perspectives. Violence is a phenomenon that crosses all times and societies, so much so that in any social context that we can consider, different types of violence or aggression can appear. This fact is so strong that sport is not able to escape violence since it has become an important figure in modern societies. Well, although sport is oriented towards the delight of physical activity, the awakening of those emotions that are born from physical contact, teamwork, strategy planning and that explosion of adrenaline that one can only experience by doing sport, there is always a negative part, in this case, a part full of violence, which unfortunately and on many occasions, ends up swallowing up the fun and satisfying part of sportEl presente trabajo expone el concepto y definición que se le da a la violencia a través de una mirada multidisciplinar de la misma, ya que no es posible realizar un análisis general de la conducta violenta sin tener en cuenta distintas perspectivas. La violencia es un fenómeno que atraviesa todos los tiempos y sociedades, tal es así, que en cualquier contexto social que podamos plantearnos pueden aparecer distintos tipos de violencia o agresión. Este hecho es tan fuerte, que el deporte no es capaz de escapar a la violencia puesto que, este se ha convertido en una importan figura dentro de las sociedades modernas. Pues, a pesar de que el deporte está orientado al deleite de la actividad física, el despertar de esas emociones que nacen del contacto físico, del trabajo en equipo, de la planificación de estrategias y de esa explosión de adrenalina que uno solo puede experimentar haciendo deporte, siempre hay una parte negativa, en este caso, una parte cargada de violencia, que por desgracia y en muchas ocasiones, acaba por engullir la parte lúdica y satisfactoria del deporte.O presente trabalho expõe o conceito e a definição atribuídos à violência através de uma abordagem multidisciplinar, uma vez que não é possível realizar uma análise geral do comportamento violento sem ter em conta diferentes perspetivas. A violência é um fenómeno que atravessa todos os tempos e sociedades, de tal forma que, em qualquer contexto social que possamos imaginar, podem surgir diferentes tipos de violência ou agressão. Este facto é tão forte que o desporto não consegue escapar à violência, uma vez que se tornou uma figura importante nas sociedades modernas. Pois, apesar de o desporto ser orientado para o prazer da atividade física, o despertar dessas emoções que nascem do contacto físico, do trabalho em equipa, do planeamento de estratégias e daquela explosão de adrenalina que só se pode experimentar praticando desporto, há sempre uma parte negativa, neste caso, uma parte carregada de violência, que infelizmente e em muitas ocasiões acaba por engolir a parte lúdica e satisfatória do desporto
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. This article attempts to respond to the motivations behind sexual assault as a strategy and/or weapon in armed conflicts, demonstrating its impact on both an individual and collective level in the society under attack, highlighting its physical and psychological effects on victims, and observing whether the legal and criminal measures against sexual assault in conflicts, implemented by the authorities and organisations that protect human rights, are effective, given that they have an obligation to intervene and protect.Este articulo enfatiza en el uso de la agresión sexual como otra estrategia de guerra en los conflictos armados, demostrando su acusada persistencia como instrumento al servicio del terror que ha sido silenciado o invisibilizado a pesar de haber sido documentado en múltiples conflictos. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
