Intercultural interaction is referred to in this study as the process by which Islamic ukhuwah is developed among Islamic communities in Marga Mulya, Banggi Besar subdistrict, Central Lampung. The author wants to make it clear that the issue of intercultural communication arises when differences in a particular area exist. When differences exist, a community can communicate more effectively and respect one another's differences in settings where people interact to develop ukhuwah Islamiyah. How are local efforts and intercultural communication affecting the growth of Ukhuwah Islamiyah in Marga Mulya Village, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung? is how the issue is formulated. The goal of this study is to understand how the community functions and to define methods of cross-cultural interaction in the growth of intercultural ukhuwah Islamiyah in Marga Mulya Village, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung. This study employed a type of field research known as qualitative descriptive field research. The community of Marga Mulya village, Banggi Besar sub-district, Lampung Tengah, served as the subject of this study. The two methods of communication in Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency are personal communication and group communication. Keywords : Communication, Culture, Ukhuwah Islamiya

Environmental influences over the last 16 ka on compound-specific δ13C variations of leaf wax n-alkanes in the Hani peat deposit from northeast China

No full text
Compound-specific carbon isotope ratios (δ13C) of leaf wax n-alkanes (C21-C33 odd carbon numbered n-alkanes) were measured in the Hani peat sequence from northeast China. These data were compared with lipid biomarker compositions to assess changes in local vegetation and paleoclimate for the last 16 ka The δ13C values of n-alkanes range between -36.6 and -30.7‰, showing that the compounds originate from C3 plants. Much larger variations (∼5.4‰) in the n-alkane δ13C values than those of atmospheric CO2 during the last 16 ka (< 0.5‰) indicate that the isotopic values were affected by environmental factors in addition to the postglacial δ13C variations in the atmospheric reservoir. The stratigraphic records of δ13C reveal decoupled fluctuations among the individual n-alkanes, particularly between 15.5 to 11.4 ka. Synchronous excursions in the δ13C offsets among individual n-alkanes (Δδ13C) and lipid biomarker paleoplant proxies (Paq, and C23/C31 and C27/C31) from 14.9 to 13.2 ka and 12.7 to 11.6 ka suggest that vegetational changes are the most likely causes for the decoupled δ13C variations. Parallel fluctuations of the δ13C values of terrestrial higher plant-derived C29 and C31 n-alkanes and the n-alkane average chain-length (ACL) from 11 to 6 ka indicate that the δ13C variations responded to net evaporation changes. Negative shifts in the n-alkane δ13C values coinciding with the ACL decreases at 10.5-9.3 ka and 8.1 ka indicate the short-term onset and fluctuations of the summer monsoon strength in eastern China during the early Holocene

The Strepsiptera of Lebanon. An annotated checklist with description of Halictophagus macrostelesi n. sp. (Strepsiptera, Halictophagidae). A new species of Strepsiptera, Halictophagus macrostelesi n. sp. is described from Lebanon. The author seizes this opportunity to produce a checklist of all the three species know from this country, with notes on their biology.Trois espèces de Strepsiptères sont connues du Liban, y compris Halictophagus macrostelesi n. sp. ici décrite. Focus Raqqa: Inventory of Museum Collections and Reconstruction of Missing Tablets

No full text
The National Museum of Raqqa in Syria has suffered immensely from the ongoing violence since 2011. Much of its valuable collection of movable archaeological heritage (ca. 6000 items) is considered lost. Starting from 500 of the most precious objects of the museum stored in the Raqqa Central Bank and stolen from there in 2013, the pilot project Focus Raqqa created a concrete, workable database to enable identification by Syrian and international police and heritage institutions. The project made a pivotal first step towards potential reconstruction of the Raqqa Museum in the future. The Raqqa museum collection included cuneiform tablets. Some of the tablets were cast before the war to allow detailed study in Europe. Today the tablets have vanished. The pilot project Scanning for Syria safeguarded information from the lost artefacts by making high-resolution three-dimensional scans of the silicone rubber moulds and subsequently physical replicas of the original objects by 3D printing. The short life expectancy (30 years) of the moulds necessitated measures for long-3term preservation. The Scanning for Syria team not only succeeded at the preservation and sharing of knowledge in the academic circle. It also told the story of Syrian culture and its people to everyone for raising more voices in the united effort to keep cultural heritage safe in a zone of conflict.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Geo-engineerin

فعالية استخدام وسيلة مسلاط الصور المتحركة لترقية استيعاب المفردات لدى التلاميذ في الصف السابع بالمدرسة المتوسطة الإسلامية الحكومية 1 بنغكاليس: The Effectiveness of Using Projected Motion Media to Improve the Mastery of Vocabulary of Class VII Students at MTsN 1 Bengkalis

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of Projected Motion Media at MTsN 1 Bengkalis, to determine the effectiveness of using Projected Motion Media to improve students' mastery of vocabulary at MTsN 1 Bengkalis. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research type. The data collection techniques used are observation and testing. The number of research populations is 64 students. Then the class is determined as the experimental group and the control group. Thus, this study was determined class VII D with a sample of 32 students as the experimental group and class VII F with a sample of 32 children as the control group. This study uses a pretest-posttest control group design type. The data that has been collected is then processed and analyzed using statistical analysis. Hypothesis testing using Wilcoxon test analysis with data processing results <0.001 smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that "Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted". This shows that the use of Projected Motion Media is effective in improving the mastery of vocabulary of class VII students at MTsN 1 Bengkalis. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of Projected Motion Media at MTsN 1 Bengkalis, to determine the effectiveness of using Projected Motion Media to improve students' mastery of vocabulary at MTsN 1 Bengkalis.
