Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

makanan adalah warna. Pada pengolahan bahan makanan, pewarna sering
ditambahkan untuk memperkuat warna asli makanan. Alam menghasilkan berbagai
senyawa yang memadai untuk pewarna makanan, seperti antosianin, karotenoid,
klorofil dan betalain. Tanaman kremah merah (Alternanthera dentata) merupakan
jenis tanaman dari keluarga amaranthaceae yang mengandung betacyanin yang
merupakan salah satu komponen betalain. Pigmen betalain belum banyak dieksplorasi
sebagai senyawa bioaktif karena sumbernya yang sedikit di alam. Tetapi beberapa
penelitian telah menunjukkan potensi senyawa ini sebagai antioksidan.
Menurut Jackman dan Smith (1996), penambahan larutan asam pada
proses ekstraksi pigmen menyebabkan kerusakan membran sel tanaman dan secara
simultan melarutkan pigmen tersebut. Sementara itu suhu ekstraksi mempengaruhi
kelarutan bahan terekstrak dan mobilitas pelarut sehingga juga mempengaruhi jumlah
pigmen yang terlarutkan. Oleh karena itu maka dilakukan penelitian mengenai
Pengaruh Suhu Ekstraksi dan Konsentrasi Asam Sitrat Terhadap Pigmen Betacyanin
Daun Kremah Merah (Alternanhera dentata) dan Kajian Aktivitas Antioksidan serta
Aplikasinya pada Pangan.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan suhu ekstraksi dan konsentrasi
asam sitrat terbaik pada ekstraksi pigmen betacyanin daun kremah merah
(Alternanthera dentata), mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak bubuk pigmen
betacyaninnya, mengetahui stabilitas ekstrak bubuk pigmen betacyanin dari pengaruh
pH, suhu pemanasan dan kondisi penyimpanan dan mengetahui penerimaan panelis
secara organoleptik terhadap aplikasi pigmen betacyanin sebagai pewarna alami
terhadap beberapa jenis pangan.
Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Pertanian,
Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian dan Laboratorium Formulasi Sediaan Tablet pada
Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Andalas Padang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan
September 2011 sampai bulan Februari 2012. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan 2 faktor dan 3
kali ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa secara statistik dengan uji F, kemudian
bila berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji HSD-Tukey pada taraf nyata 5%.
Faktor suhu ekstraksi yang terdiri dari 2 taraf yaitu suhu dingin ( 8oC) dan suhu
kamar (25oC), sedangkan faktor konsentrasi asam sitrat yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu
0 %, 1%, 3% dan 5%.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi antara suhu ekstraksi dan konsentrasi
asam sitrat pada proses ekstraksi memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap
konsentrasi betacyanin, rendemen bubuk, derajat keasaman (pH) dan total asam.
Ekstrak bubuk pigmen betacyanin yang diekstraksi pada suhu kamar (25oC) dengan
penambahan asam sitrat 0 % merupakan perlakuan terbaik dengan karakteristik
konsentrasi betacyanin sebesar 214,47 mg/100 g bahan, rendemen betacyanin 80,73
%, rendemen bubuk 56,43 %, pH 5,85 dan total asam 1,272 %. Berdasarkan
pengujian dengan metode serapan DPPH diperoleh aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak
bubuk pigmen betacyanin sebesar 39,94 % yang setara dengan 243,4621 AEAC.
Ekstrak bubuk pigmen betacyanin stabil pada pH 4-8. Pemanasan secara pasteurisasi
selama 15, 30, 45 dan 60 menit pada bubuk pigmen dengan konsentrasi 1 % secara
pasteurisasi tersebut menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi betacyanin berturut-turut
sebesar 17,84%; 19,72%; 25,35% dan 27,23 %. Sementara itu pada proses sterilisasi
selama 15, 30, 45 dan 60 menit menyebabkan degradasi pigmen betacyanin sebanyak
23 %; 43,66%; 57,28% dan 80,28 %. Penyimpanan larutan ekstrak bubuk pigmen
betacyanin konsentrasi 1 % pada suhu refrigerator (8oC) pada hari ke-5, ke-10, ke-15
dan hari ke-20 menurunkan konsentrasi betacyanin sebesar 18,31 %, 32,86 %, 42,72
% dan 46 %. Sementara itu penyimpanan pada suhu ruang dengan intensitas cahaya
terang dari pencahayaan matahari menyebabkan terjadinya degradasi betacyanin
berturut-turut setelah penyimpanan selama 5 hari, 10 hari, 15 hari dan 20 hari adalah
47,89 %; 62,44 %; 74,18 % dan 99,53 %. Untuk penyimpanan larutan ekstrak bubuk
pigmen betacyanin konsentrasi 1 % pada ruang gelap atau tanpa cahaya mengalami
penurunan pada hari ke-5, ke-10, ke-15 dan hari ke-20 berturut-turut sebesar 43, 19
%, 69,01 %, 80,28 % dan 92,96 %. Aplikasi penambahan ekstrak bubuk pigmen
betacyanin pada jelly, sirup dan es krim didapatkan perlakuan terbaik dengan
konsentrasi penambahan sebesar 1,5 %
