A Study on Rural Development in Dala Township (Lin Htet Ko, 2022)
Rural development is crucial for Myanmar's overall economic development as well as for the majority of its residents who live in rural areas. The study's goal is to evaluate the infrastructure used in Dala Township for rural development utilizing two budget lines from the 2016-2017 budgetary year to the 2020-2021 fiscal year. This study was conducted by the descriptive method, and the required data are used as secondary data. In the implementation of infrastructure for the rural development of Dala Township from 2016-2017 fiscal year to 2020-2021 fiscal year, it was found that road and bridge sector had the highest budget expenditure, and the second is education sector, the third is health care sector and the last is water supply sector. In the study of the sector where infrastructure can be implemented, the road and bridge sector is the most, the second is water supply, the third is health care sector and the last is education sector. Thus, the budget utilization of education and health should be drawn up better ways
A Study on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Community (Case Study: Tachileik District) ( Lin Htet, 2025)
This study aims to investigate the strengths and weaknesses of disaster risk
reduction and management (DRRM) strategies and to assess household awareness and
community participation in DRRM activities in Tachileik District, Eastern Shan State.
Using a descriptive method, and primary data were collected through a structured
questionnaire survey from 399 respondents selected from simple random sampling
method across three wards and three villages in Tachileik District. The findings revealed
that household awareness of disaster risks is generally high, with many respondents
recognizing both natural and human-induced causes of disasters and expressing concern
over increasing disaster frequency. One notable strength of the community is its
proactive attitude, as many families have developed preparedness plans and
demonstrated strong engagement in awareness promotion and recovery activities.
However, weaknesses were also identified, including low levels of participation in
disaster simulations and preparedness training, limited inclusion of vulnerable groups in
planning processes, and insufficiently developed early warning systems. While mobile
phones and television serve as primary alert mechanisms, reliance on digital media may
exclude marginalized populations, underscoring the need for inclusive communication
strategies. Community perception of DRRM programs was moderately positive, with appreciation for local meetings and communication efforts, but limited knowledge of evacuation infrastructure and national policy implementation was evident
The Effect of Job Demands and Job Resources on Work Engagement and Turnover Intentions of Employees in Shine Myo Ma Car Wash & Spa ( Hsu Lin Htet, 2024)
This study aims to examine the effect of job demands and job resources on work engagement and turnover intentions of employees at Shine Myo Ma Car Wash & Spa. There are a total of 40 employees at Shine Myo Ma. The census sampling method is applied in this study. The questionnaire survey method is used for primary data collection. The secondary data are gathered from international research papers, previous papers, web pages, and reference texts. The data analysis method employed both descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis. The research findings indicate that physical overload has a positive significant effect on turnover intentions, while mental overload and emotional overload do not have a significant effect on turnover intentions. On the other hand, organizational and social support, and job security have a negative significant effect on turnover intentions, while growth opportunities and advancement do not have a significant effect on turnover intentions. There is a mediating effect of work engagement on the relationship between organizational and social support and turnover intentions, as well as job security and turnover intentions. This study suggests that Shine Myo Ma Car Wash & Spa is needed to enhance job resources such as organizational and social support, and job security which can foster work engagement and further decrease turnover intentions. Emphasizing these areas can create a more supportive and engaging work environment, ultimately leading to improved employee retention
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist
We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
