    [[abstract]]This paper presents an analysis of the leakage conduction mechanism of top-contact organic thin film transistors. According to the experimental result, the author found that the dominant leakage conduction mechanism of top-contact devices is the Schottky emission and the gate leakage current dramatically increases with an increase in applied voltage. It is important to identify the gate leakage effect for understanding the actual device operation mechanism and enhancing the device performance

    [[abstract]]In this study, electrical characteristics of indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)/ITO devices have been investigated. The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of devices show hysteresis behavior, and the hysteresis is formally described by different voltage amplitudes for the sweep from negative to positive bias and the reverse direction. According to the experimental results, the author suggested that donorlike trap states within the PEDOT:PSS layer controlled carrier flow and resulted in hysteresis-type I-V characteristics of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/ITO devices

    [[abstract]]The contact mechanism and design principles for alloyed Ohmic contacts to n-GaN were investigated in Mohammad’s paper [ J. Appl. Phys. 95, 7940 (2004) ]. Mohammad’s study demonstrated that both tunneling and thermionic emission were equally important for low resistivity at the metals/n-GaN interfaces. As regards this Comment, we point out the fundamental errors of this interpretation. In addition, we find that the results shown in Figs. 3–6 of Mohammad’s paper are incorrect because the lower effective barrier height (BH) of less than 0 eV (due to the induced BH reduction by image force lowering or band gap narrowing) and a variable (c1) were neglected by the author

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Electrical Properties of Ni/Au and Au Contacts on p-type GaN

    [[abstract]]The electrical properties of Ni/Au and Au contacts on p-type GaN (p-GaN) were investigated in this study. From the experimental result, it is suggested that the current–voltage characteristic of Au/Ni/p-GaN is better than that of Au/p-GaN. The secondary-ion mass spectroscopy measurements revealed that hydrogen is effectively removed from the p-GaN layer by the existence of the Ni film. These results suggest that a Ni film of Au/Ni/p-GaN significantly enhances hydrogen desorption from the p-GaN film, which leads to an increase in the hole concentration, the occurrence of the tunneling transmission for holes at the interface, and the improvement of electrical properties of Au/Ni/p-GaN
