FeN growing over GaN
Se realizaron cálculos de primeros principios, dentro del marco de la Teoría del Funcional de la Densidad (DFT), para estudiar la estructura electrónica de un sistema consistente en una capa de nitruro de hierro cúbico (FeN), crecido sobre una capa de nitruro de galio tipo wurtzita (w-GaN), con el objetivo de entender las propiedades magnéticas y electrónicas del sistema FeN/w-GaN(0001). Resultados encontrados en la literatura (Lin et al., 2008) han mostrado que una película de estructura cúbica puede acomodarse bien con sustratos hexagonales, dada una particular orientación de crecimiento. Se ha simulado el crecimiento a~nadiendo monocapas de FeN una por una sobre una capa de w-GaN. La herramienta que se utilizó en la tesis es la de la teoría del funcional de densidad, que se ha desarrollado a partir de la aproximación de Thomas-Fermi-Dirac para el cálculo de la energía de un sistema, así como los teoremas de Hohenberg y Khon, y el enfoque aplicado por Kohn y Sham. Los resultados teóricos fueron comparados con los resultados encontrados en la literatura que han mostrado que películas de FeN tienen una bien orientada relación epitaxial con el sustrato y crecen suavemente en las primeras monocapas.First principles calculations within the Density Functional Theory (DFT) framework were performed to study the electronic structure of a system consisting of a layer of cubic iron nitride (FeN), growing over a layer of galium nitride in wurtzite phase (w-GaN), in order to understand the electronic and magnetic properties of the FeN/w-GaN(0001) system. Experimental results found in the literature (Lin et al., 2008) have shown that a cubic structure film can match very well with hexagonal substrates, given a particular orientation. It was simulated the growing by adding monolayers of FeN one by one over a layer of wGaN. The tools that will be used in this thesis are the ones of the density functional theory, developed from the Thomas-Fermi-Dirac aproximation for the estimate of a system energy, the Hohenberg and Khon theorems, and the aproach by Kohn and Sham. The theoretical results were compared with the results found in the literature that have shown that the FeN films have a well-oriented epitaxial relationship with the substrate and grow smoothly for the first few monolayers

This report is based on a program of Te- Fen Cheng\u27s graduate clarinet recital on May 15th, 2019. In the paper, I will talk about lives of five composers, backgrounds of composition, and analysis of their music. The program was opened with Carl Maria von Weber\u27s Theme and Variations for Clarinet and Piano, Op. 33. The second piece in the first half was Johannes Brahms\u27s Sonata in F minor for Clarinet and Piano, Op. 120, No. 1. The second half of the recital was opened with Leslie Bassett\u27s Soliloquies for Clarinet Solo, Claude Debussy\u27s Premi\uc3\ua8re Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Piano, and ended was Michele Mangani\u27s Blues

Gülay (Arel Author)Bu çalışmada İlköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıflarda kullanılan Fen ve Teknoloji Ders Kitaplarında “Madde ve Değişim” öğrenme alanındaki etkinliklerin Fen ve Teknoloji öğretim programında “Madde ve Değişim” öğrenme alanı’ nda yer alan kazanımlara uygunluk, kavram öğretimine yeterlilik, etkinlik sonrası verilen ifadelerin ve kavramların doğruluğu, ilgili konu ile uyumluluğunun incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla 2010-2011 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında kullanılan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın onay verdiği üç adet 4. Sınıf ve üç adet 5. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji ders kitapları incelenmiştir. İncelemeler sonucunda 4.sınıf ders kitaplarındaki etkinliklerin yarısından fazlasının, 5. Sınıf ders kitaplarında ise büyük çoğunluğunun ilgili kazanımlarla uyumlu olduğu; bazı etkinliklerin ait olduğu kazanımın bulunmadığı, bazı kazanımlara yönelik birden fazla etkinlik bulunduğu, bazı kazanımlara ait etkinlik bulunmadığı belirlenmiştir. Etkinlik sonrası verilen ifadelerle ilgili bulgular incelendiğinde eksik ve yanlış tanım ve ifadelere rastlanmıştır.The present study was conducted to investigate “Matter and Change” activities in the 4th and 5th Grade Science and Technology Textbook in Turkey in respect to “Science and Technology Programme” educational attainment, competency of concept teaching, accuracy of phrases and concepts after activities and in accordance with related subject. For this purpose, three 4th Grade and three 5th Grade Science and Technology Textbooks used in 2010-2011 terms and accepted as essential science textbook by Ministry of National Education were examined. Results show that more than half of the activities in the 4.th Grade textbooks and more activities in the 5.th Grade textbooks were consistent with educational attainments, some activities have no attainment, some attainments have more than one activity, and some attainments have no activities. Moreover, wrong or inaccurate definitions and phrases were determined

Real Exchange Rate, Foreign Trade and Employment: Evidence from China
Coordination of macro-economic development and employment is an essential issue for China's social development, which largely depends on economic expansion, as well as integration into the global market to create jobs. Through the literature review and empirical test, this paper analyses the relationship between macro-economic policy and employment, and discusses the impact of real exchange rate and foreign trade on employment. The research indicates that a stable and competitive exchange rate policy plays an indispensable role in employment promotion, more effective than monetary and fiscal policies, while the export growth also plays a positive role in employment promotion.China, employment, foreign trade, real exchange rate
Rates of Return to University Education: The Regression Discontinuity Design
Estimating the rate of return to a university degree has always been difficult due to the problem of omitted variable biases. Benefiting from a special feature of the University Admission system in China, which has clear cutoffs for university entry, combined with a unique data set with information on individual National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) scores, we estimate the Local Average Treatment Effects (LATE) of university education based on a Regression Discontinuity design. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to use RD design to estimate the causal effect of a university education on earnings. Our results show that the rates of return to 4-year university education relative to 3-year college education are 40 and 60 per cent for the compliers in the male and female samples, respectively, which are much larger than the simple OLS estimations revealed in previous literature. Since in our sample a large proportion of individuals are compliers (45 per cent for males and 48 per cent for females), the LATEs estimated in this paper have a relatively general implication. In addition, we find that the LATEs are likely to be larger than ATEs, suggesting that the inference drawn from average treatment effects might understate the true effects of the university expansion program introduced in China in 1999 and thereafter.rate of return to education, regression discontinuity design, China
