On the Number of Cyclic Subgroups of a Finite Group
Let G be a finite group and let c(G) be the number of cyclic subgroups of G. We study the function α(G) = c(G) / | G|. We explore its basic properties and we point out a connection with the probability of commutation. For many families F of groups we characterize the groups G∈ F for which α(G) is maximal and we classify the groups G for which α(G) > 3 / 4. We also study the number of cyclic subgroups of a direct power of a given group deducing an asymptotic result and we characterize the equality α(G) = α(G/ N) when G / N is a symmetric group

Data and platform co-ops in smart city citizenship: interview with Igor Calzada
Igor Calzada is a senior researcher at universities like Oxford and Cardiff with a focus on urban, regional and technopolitical transformations, considering data issues and social innovation. In November 2020, he launched the book Smart City Citizenship, which proposes another framework at smart cities based on democratic governance and citizenship. Thus, he presents how it is possible to understand and intervene in technopolitical disputes involving algorithms, data, and artificial intelligence based on notions such as digital sovereignty. Among the possibilities, there is the creation of data and platform co-ops based on data and digital commons. For the author, data cooperatives are a subtype of platform cooperatives, in which they focus on business models, while data co-ops share and store data. The book analyzes, among other cases, the Barcelona ecosystem and proposes perspectives for public policies. Currently, Calzada is interested in exploring new models of data governance and artificial intelligence to propose alternative ways to data ecosystems in the European scenario. He defends experimental cities as a reaction to the mainstream idea of the city as a platform, as a reproduction of extractive and panoptic practices through hyperconnectivity. But it will be very difficult in a dangerous context. And he provokes: “how, in the current context, in which we are closed in our homes, can we propose cities with open systems? Caracterização das morfologias encontradas no metal de solda variando a energia de soldagem
MonografiaThe study of the importance of the welding parameters on the microstructure of
the metallic materials is of great importance since the evaluation of the microconstituents
has a direct relation with the final mechanical properties obtained in the welded joint, as
well as the grain morphology that plays an important role in the toughness of the welding
metal. Some variables in the welding process may influence the solidification of the weld
metal, such as welding energy, material thickness, material thermal conductivity and
preheating, that the two parties contain cooling rates which, in turn, directly influences
the processes of nucleation and growth in solidification. The present work has the
objective of identifying different grain morphologies that can be found in a weld metal as
a depending on the variation of the welding energy. Thus, experiments with autogenous
TIG welding were performed, varying the welding current, whereby the welding energy
varied in two levels, 157.51 J / cm and 272.02 J / cm (welding at 100A and 150A),
maintaining the temperature environment and other constant parameters. The weld metals
were analyzed by metallography, characterizing the grain morphologies present in the
cross sections of the weld beads. Combinations of different morphologies were found for
each welding energy. In the sample in which the current of 100 A was used, a columnar
zone followed by a central equiaxial was observed, besides the absence of a quenched
zone and in the sample of 150 A presented along with the morphologies found in the
100A sample a little epitaxial growth , revealing the influence of welding energy. In
addition, it was possible to verify that the width and depth of the weld bead increase as
the parameter is increased.O estudo da importância dos parâmetros da soldagem sobre a microestrutura dos
materiais metálicos é de grande importância pois a avaliação dos microconstituintes tem
relação direta com as propriedades mecânicas finais obtidas na junta soldada, assim como
a morfologia do grão que desempenha um papel importante na tenacidade do metal de
solda. Algumas variáveis no processo de soldagem podem influenciar na solidificação do
metal de solda, como por exemplo a energia de soldagem, a espessura do material, a
condutividade térmica do material e o pré-aquecimento, em que todas estão associadas à
taxa de resfriamento que, por sua vez, influencia diretamente nos processos de nucleação
e crescimento na solidificação. O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de identificar diferentes
morfologias de grão que podem ser encontradas em um metal de solda em função da
variação da energia de soldagem. Dessa forma, foram realizados experimentos com solda
TIG autógena variando a corrente de soldagem, consequentemente variava a energia de
soldagem em dois níveis 157,51 J/cm e 272,02 J/cm (soldagem à 100A e 150A),
mantendo a temperatura ambiente e demais parâmetros constantes. Os metais de solda
foram analisados metalograficamente, caracterizando as morfologias de grão presentes
nas seções transversais dos cordões de solda. Foram encontradas combinações de
morfologias distintas para cada energia de soldagem. Na amostra na qual foi utilizada a
corrente de 100 ampères foi observada uma zona colunar seguida por uma equiaxial
central, além da ausência de uma zona coquilhada e na amostra de 150 ampères
apresentou juntamente com as morfologias encontradas na amostra de 100A um pouco
de crescimento epitaxial, revelando a influência da energia de soldagem.
Suplementarmente foi possível constatar que a largura e a profundidade do cordão de
