The radical right in Europe, between slogans and voting behavior. IHS Political Science Series No. 123, July 2011

    No full text
The paper analyzes the radical right‘s attitudes toward the EU focusing in particular on the level of congruence between the programmatic statements of the central office and the voting behavior of their MEPs. It shows that although radical right parties represent a source of opposition to the EU, within the EP they express their dissent making use of the rules of the game, voting with the opposition more than the other forces do, but voting almost as much with the majority. The party public office in the EP is inserted in the legislative process and even more collusive with the other parties of both sides of the political spectrum than the Eurosceptical rhetoric and statements of central office makes the public believe

Jukka Jokilehto has researched in depth the concept of value, applied to cultural heritage, and how such values have evolved over time, ranging from the discourse related to national identity all the way to the concept of “outstanding universal value”. In his article “Heritage values and valuation” he presents values as “layers of perceptions” and concludes that it may be more appropriate to evaluate the impact, rather than the value of heritage, while making reference to the public or shared values as a basis for protection policies. This article explores the manner in which such identification and valuation of heritage have developed in Argentina, particularly in reference to the role heritage has played in the construction and consolidation of a national identity

The article proposes a revision of the theory of the culture of Herbert Marcuse, from its early writings until some theses of its last Works. The fundamental idea of the text is that the conception of art and the aesthetic experience that the author maintains presents elements for a more complex comprensión of his theory of affirmative culture and for the negation of the idea of its radical elimination.Fil: Conti, Romina.

    No full text

Copper Accumulation and Availability in Sandy, Acid, Vineyard Soils

    No full text
The use of copper (Cu)-based fungicides to control diseases in vineyards can cause excessive Cu accumulation in soils. Greater Cu availability is expected in acid sandy soils with low organic matter (OM), where the risk of toxicity to plants and environment contamination is high. This study aimed to study the evolution of Cu in acid, sandy soils planted with grapevines for a period of time between 2 and 32 years. Two studies were carried out in South Brazil: in the first study, soil samples, from 19 vineyards were collected and analyzed in the first 0.2 m depth-layer for the total and available Cu. In the second study, 3 soils were selected among the previous 19 according to the age of vineyard (5, 11, and 30 year-old), and their 0.60 m-depth profile was analyzed for 5 fractions of Cu (soluble, exchangeable, mineral, organic, and residual). All the soils were classified as Ultisols. The vineyards with more than 25 years under cultivation had a mean total Cu concentration of 90 mg kg−1 in the 0–0.10 m layer. Approximately 80% of it was potentially available to plants. The greatest total and available Cu were found in the soil surface layers (0.2 m depth), where up to 75% of the total Cu is adsorbed in clay minerals and only 20% is complexed in the OM

    Riconoscere lo stile analitico

    No full text
The present paper’s aim is to outline a definition of “analyticity” through assuming a framework whose basic concepts are taken from rhetoric. Thus, assuming particular examples from the history of analytic philosophy – i.e. philosophers that are commonly considered “analytic” - the author shows how many shared patterns are recognisable within their argumentations, explanations, beginnings and conclusions. A previous extensional definition of “analytical philosophy” is not assumed; hence the concluded remarks can be taken as features of any analytic philosopher
