No full textIn this interview, Carla Trujillo discusses her roots, which include being born in New Mexico and growing up in Northern California. Carla received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology from UW-Madison and became an established author. It will help determine which audio file(s) to download & listen to.Carla Trujillo was born to a working class family in New Mexico and grew up in Northern California. Her extended family and roots are New Mexican (Chicana). She received her B.S. degree in Human Development from UC Davis, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her dissertation focused on assessing differential treatment of underrepresented students in college classrooms. She is the editor of Living Chicana Theory and Chicana Lesbians: The Girls Our Mothers Warned Us About (Third Woman Press), winner of a Lambda Book Award and the Out/Write Vanguard Award. Her first novel, What Night Brings (Curbstone Press 2003), won the Miguel Marmol prize focusing on human rights. What Night Brings also won the Paterson Fiction Prize, the Latino Literary Foundation Latino Book Award, Bronze Medal from Foreword Magazine, Honorable Mention for the Gustavus Meyers Books Award, and was a LAMBDA Book Award finalist. Carla has also written various articles on identity and higher education. Her latest novel, Faith and Fat Chances, was a finalist for the 2012 PEN Bellwether Prize for socially engaged fiction and is forthcoming from Curbstone/Northwestern University Press. Carla works as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Diversity Program at U.C. Berkeley and has focused some of her recent activities on improving the work and classroom climate using Interactive Theater. She has lectured in Ethnic Studies at U.C. Berkeley and Mills College, and in Women’s Studies at S.F. State University. She has also taught fiction for the Sandra Cisneros Macondo Writers Program and the Lambda Literary Foundation’s Emerging Writers Program

Configurandosi come romanzo di ambiente bresciano, è dedicato alla eroica figura di Tito Speri, protagonista delle “dieci giornate di Brescia” nel quadro delle rivoluzioni del 1848-1849 e difensore degli ideali risorgimentali a partire proprio dal contesto locale. Il romanzo esalta la passione del protagonista per la Patria oppressa, la lotta per la sua liberazione e l’eroismo portato fino al sacrificio della vita. La forma romanzata voluta da Rigosa presenta un lavoro che negli esiti si avvicina molto ad un’agiografia, soprattutto per la ricostruzione appassionata e commossa del personaggio

the Library and Archive of Gianfranco Baruchello, with the aim of contributing to the
ongoing publication of the Catalogue Raisonné of the artist, edited by Carla Subrizi.
The contribution aims to give attention to the tools responsible for defining the final profile of the work, paying attention to two cases of works that emerged during the
research and of which trace had been lost. Since this is a work in the process of being
defined, the research presented here does not claim to be exhaustive but rather to
build a solid basis for their historical-artistic contextualization and, at the same time,
to focus on the problems that emerged in the process of their cataloguing

No full textIl cardinale Ferdinando Ponzetti ebbe un posto di primo piano nella Roma di Leone X, poco indagato per quanto di grande interesse così come il suo impegno di committente di architettura. Facoltoso e di vasta cultura classica, il prelato coinvolse, grazie all'importante amicizia coi i Chigi, Baldassarre Peruzzi, allora attivo a Roma da più di un decennio in prestigiosi incarichi come la villa per Agostino fuori porta Settimiana iniziata nel 1505. Il saggio ricostruisce la committenza del cardinale Ponzetti a Peruzzi della cappella familiare nella chiesa romana di Santa Maria della Pace. In precedenza il cardinale potrebbe inoltre aver affidato all’architetto senese l’arco di trionfo che fece realizzare, tra altre architetture effimere allestite lungo il percorso cittadino per il Possesso di Leone X

No full textTrans/cis prolyl isomerisation is involved in several biological processes, including the development of numerous diseases. In the HIV-1 capsid protein (CA), such a process takes place in the uncoating and recruitment of the virion and is catalyzed by cyclophilin A (CypA). Here, we use metadynamics simulations to investigate the isomerization of CA’s model substrate HAGPIA in water and in its target protein CypA. Our results allow us to propose a novel mechanistic hypothesis, which is finally consistent with all of the available molecular biology data

No full textDurante il pontificato di Leone X il gruppo professionale degli orefici romani visse una rapida evoluzione, eppure il papa rimase legato ad una ristretta cerchia di artisti già affermati ed attivi per i precedenti pontefici. Le fortune di questi artisti dipesero assai più dalla costituzione di ricche rendite che non dalla loro attività professionale. Quanto agli altri orefici, si fa cenno alla loro clientela e alle loro abituali attività, non ultima la compravendita di metallo nobile. Si propone infine una linea di ricerca, volta all’individuazione di rapporti extraprofessionali fra gli orefici e i maggiori enti ecclesiastici cittadini, di cui si mostrano i primi risultatiDuring the pontificate of Leo X the professional group of Rome goldsmiths was rapidly changing.
