In 1976 the archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was suspended a divinis by the ordination of priests without the permission of Pope Paul VI. The public repercussion of this act of disobedience converted the french prelate into a symbol of catholic traditionalism and of the resistance to the post-conciliar evolution of the Church. This article examines the impact of the “Lefebvre affair" in our country during the period 1976-1978, especially in the field of the traditional catholicism. The aim is to contribute to the explanation of several reasons for which the "lefebvrism" failed in Spain unlike other nations such as France or Germany.
In August 1890, the then very young Maurice Denis published a short essay in the pages of the Parisian magazine «Art et Critique» entitled Définition du Néo-traditionnisme. With this text, the future co-founder of the Nabis group laid the ideological foundations for the Symbolist movement ahead of his friend and colleague Gabriel Albert Aurier, the author of what is still considered the “official” manifesto of this movement: Le Symbolisme en peinture: Paul Gauguin (1892). In his text, the Granville-born painter provides his own definition of the famous five points drawn up by Aurier only two years later (ideism, symbolism, synthetism, subjectivism and decorativism), thus demonstrating that he was not only an avant-garde artist but also a keen theoretician attentive to the critical debates of his time.
Interest on money, a theme situated at the very heart of today's economic life, is the subject of this article. The objective of this paper is to cast light on a less known side of this subject: its constitutional aspect. The paper is divided in two parts. They are preceeded by a brief study of the evolution of this subject through history. The first part will examine the various aspects of the legislative power over interest which the canadian constitution attributes to the federal Parliament. The author will analyze the extent and the limits of the legislative power through the study of the relevant case law. That study will enable the author to identify a theoretical frame for the legislative power. The author will then rely on the principal characteristics of that analysis to evaluate the validity of some legal provisions found in federal statutes. In the second part, the author examines the role played by the provinces in the area of interest. If it is true that this latter role has often been considered as almost nonexistant, the limits of the federal legislative power depicted in part one will enable the author to notice the existence of a provincial legislative power over some aspects of interest. The author will then examine the extent and the limits of that power. Finally, the author will consider the possible conflicts that can arise from the coexistence of a federal and a provincial legislative power on the subject-matter of interest
Seminal plasma and prostaglandin E2 up-regulate fibroblast growth factor 2 expression in endometrial adenocarcinoma cells via E-series prostanoid-2 receptor-mediated transactivation of the epidermal growth factor receptor and extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway
Prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)) has been shown to modulate angiogenesis and tumour progression via the E-series prostanoid-2 (EP2) receptor. Endometrial adenocarcinomas may be exposed to endogenous PGE(2) and exogenous PGE(2), present at high concentration in seminal plasma
In vivo behaviour of human precursors into a dystrophic context
The Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a lethal recessive X-linked disease caused by mutations in the dystrophin gene, no effective treatment is available up to date. The development of effective therapies requires the use of animal models both dystrophic and immunotolerant for human cells.
In collaboration with James Di Santo at the Pasteur Institute, a new mutant strain of mice was created: the Rag2−Il2rb−Dmd−. This mutant lacks T and B cells, as well as NK cells. It also harbours a mutation in the dystrophin gene.
This study focuses on the morphological and immunohistochemical characterization of the muscle phenotype of the new mutant mouse, its comparison with the most used DMD model (mdx) and its potential use to evaluate the regenerative potential of human myogenic progenitors.
The results obtained in this thesis have shown that the dystrophic phenotype is similar between the two models. Analysis of muscle regeneration has yielded very promising results. The Rag2−Il2rb−Dmd− mouse shows a peak of spontaneous regeneration between 10 and 16 weeks, which is six weeks of intense regeneration.
Results obtained after transplantation of human myoblasts have confirmed that this new model is very suitable for myogenic cells transplantation, which can effectively participate in muscle regeneration. This is very important because allows to study the behaviour of human myogenic stem cells in natural dystrophic context
