THE USE OF BEST PRACTICES FOR INFORMATION SYSTEM INTEGRATION PLANNING
V poslovnem svetu vlada velika konkurenca na trgu. Združevanja in prevzemi podjetij so pogosta praksa, saj močnejšemu konkurentu, poleg višjega tržnega deleža, prinašajo številne prednosti. In the business world, there is a strong competition on the market. Mergers and acquisitions are common practices. Stronger competitor not only gets higher market share, but also many other advantages. In our thesis, we focus on the merger in terms of IT. If we want the merger to be carried out swiftly and with minimal complication it is necessary to create an integration plan. In order to merge, enterprises can employ external contractors (Gartner) or undertake the planning and execution of integration themselves. Business information architecture, can help them with that. It is recommended to make review of IT best practices, which will light up critical areas. That knowledge helps, when facing the challenges of merger in the future
Finger jointing of green spruce
Raziskovali smo trdnostne lastnosti dolžinsko spojene smrekovine (Picea abies Karst). Pripravili smo smrekove lamele z različno vlažnostjo in jih razvrstili v 3 vlažnostne razrede. V prvem so bile lamele z vlažnostjo okoli 46 %, v drugem 30 % in v tretjem 10 %. Ugotavljali smo modul elastičnosti in upogibno trdnost. Najbolj ugodne rezultate smo dobili pri lepljenju smrekovine z vlažnostjo 10 %.Strength properties of longitudinally glued spruce wood (Picea abies Karst) were researched using a toothed adhesive layer and spruce wood of different moisture. We took several lamellas of spruce wood and sort them into 3 moisture groups. The first group contained lamellas with high percentage of moisture 46 %, the second group 30 %, and the third 10%. We sawed lamellas into halves and then glued them back together with assistance of finger joint and one - component polyurethane glue, MITOPUR E20 produced by Mitol from Sežana. Afterwards we processed glued lamellas into dimensions demanded by DIN 52 186, cross- section 20 * 20 mm and length 470 mm. We dried the processed lamellas in a drier to moisture of 14 %. Our tests were performed at Biotechnical faculty on Zwick Z100 machine, used for testing mechanical characteristics. Modulus of elasticity and bending strength demanded by DIN 52186 were tested. We came to conclusion that the glue we used was appropriate for gluing wet or humid spruce wood. By increasing the moisture of wood the modulus of elasticity was increasing and bending strength was decreasing. The best results we came across were at the moisture of 10 %

Abstracting strings for model checking of C programs
Data type abstraction plays a crucial role in software verification. In this paper, we introduce a domain for abstracting strings in the C programming language, where strings are managed as null-terminated arrays of characters. The new domain M-String is parametrized on an index (bound) domain and a character domain. By means of these different constituent domains, M-Strings captures shape information on the array structure as well as value information on the characters occurring in the string. By tuning these two parameters, M-String can be easily tailored for specific verification tasks, balancing precision against complexity. The concrete and the abstract semantics of basic operations on strings are carefully formalized, and soundness proofs are fully detailed. Moreover, for a selection of functions contained in the standard C library, we provide the semantics for character access and update, enabling an automatic lifting of arbitrary string-manipulating code into our new domain. An implementation of abstract operations is provided within a tool that automatically lifts existing programs into the M-String domain along with an explicit-state model checker. The accuracy of the proposed domain is experimentally evaluated on real-case test programs, showing that M-String can efficiently detect real-world bugs as well as to prove that program does not contain them after they are fixed
String Abstraction for Model Checking of C Programs
Automatic abstraction is a powerful software verification technique. In this paper, we elaborate an abstract domain for C strings, that is, null-terminated arrays of characters. We describe the abstract semantics of basic string operations and prove their soundness with regards to previously established concrete semantics of those operations. In addition to a selection of string functions from the standard C library, we provide semantics for character access and update, enabling automatic lifting of arbitrary string-manipulating code into the domain. The domain we present (called M-String) has two other abstract domains as its parameters: an index (bound) domain and a character domain. Picking different constituent domains allows M-String to be tailored for specific verification tasks, balancing precision against complexity. In addition to describing the domain theoretically, we also provide an executable implementation of the abstract operations. Using a tool which automatically lifts existing programs into the M-String domain along with an explicit-state model checker, we have evaluated the proposed domain experimentally on a few simple but realistic test programs
Kokybinis interviu: lauko darbų patirtys
Straipsnyje apibendrinamos tyrėjų grupės, atlikusios giluminius interviu pagal mokslo projektą „Šeimos modelių ir socialinių tinklų trajektorijos: tarpgeneracinė perspektyva“ (kodas Nr. P1-3.1-ŠMM-07-K-01-106), kokybinio tyrimo lauko darbų patirtys. Kad kokybiniai duomenys būtų patikimi, tyrėjai turi būti tinkamai pasirengę atlikti kokybinius interviu. Tyrimo projekto metu atlikti kokybiniai interviu leido pasiekti dvejopų tikslų. Pirma, buvo surinkti gausūs kokybinio tyrimo duomenys. Antra, tyrėjai per savo patirtį lauko tyrimo metu surinko duomenis apie tuos praktinius kokybinio tyrimo aspektus, kurie nėra plačiai aprašomi kokybinių tyrimų metodikai skirtose studijose. Straipsnio tikslas – atskleisti lauko darbų atlikimo kokybiniuose tyrimuose praktinius aspektus, parengiant rekomendacijas, galinčias padėti kitiems tyrėjams labiau įsijausti ir suprasti lauko darbų specifiką kokybinio tyrimo procese, apgalvoti potencialius tyrimo veiklos momentus ir tinkamiau jiems pasiruošti. Tyrimo objektas – kokybinio interviu lauko darbų procesas. Tyrimo uždaviniai: atskleisti kontaktų užmezgimo su tyrimo dalyviais proceso ypatumus; aprašyti fizinės ir socialinės aplinkos, kurioje vyksta interviu, specifinius aspektus; atskleisti esminius iššūkius, kylančius tyrėjui interviu ėmimo proceso metu. Taikomas metodas – tyrėjų dienoraščiuose užfiksuotų įrašų (pastabų ir refleksijų) sisteminimas, aprašymas bei analizė. Straipsnyje aprašomi kontaktų su tyrimo dalyviais užmezgimo proceso ypatumai, ypatingą dėmesį skiriant potencialių tyrimo dalyvių nedalyvavimo arba atsisakymo dalyvauti tyrime veiksnių analizei; pateikiami pavyzdžiai, iliustruojantys problemišką santykį tarp „idealių“ metodologinių reikalavimų fizinei ir socialinei interviu atlikimo aplinkai ir „realių“, egzistencinių situacijų; nagrinėjamos menkai metodologiniuose darbuose aprašytos jautrios, dramatiškos situacijos, kylančios interviu metu ir keliančios papildomų etinių, taktinių iššūkių tyrėjui; taip pat pateikiami pavyzdžiai, rodantys, regis, nepriklausomų ir tiesiogiai nesusijusių su tyrimo atlikimu elementų reikšmę ir poveikį tyrimo dalyviams. Straipsnio pabaigoje formuluojamos praktinės rekomendacijos planuojantiems atlikti kokybinį tyrimą: svarbu būti pasirengusiems priimti bet kokios kilmės iššūkius bet kuriame tyrimo etape; rekomenduotina paruošti apytiksliai dvigubai ilgesnį potencialių informantų sąrašą nei reikia; derinant interviu laiką ir vietą, siekti kuo konkretesnio susitarimo; paruošti kelis „nemokslinius“ argumentus, kodėl informantams verta dalyvauti tyrime; neatmesti tikimybės, kad, regis, paprastas klausimas gali tapti jautriu, sukeliančiu informantams stiprias emocijas, ir būti pasiruošusiems suvaldyti tokį interviu momentą; būti lankstiems priimant sprendimus sparčiai besikeičiančioje situacijoje, kai aiškėja, kad tyrimas negali vykti suplanuota eiga, bei pasirūpinti pačių tyrėjų konfidencialumu bei privatumu. Reikšminiai žodžiai: Giluminius interviu; Kokybiniai tyrimų metodai; Kokybiniai tyrimų metodai, kokybinis interviu, tyrimų lauko darbai; Kokybinis interviu; Lauko darbai; Field-work; In-depth interview; Qualitative interviewing; Qualitative research methods; Qualitative research methods, qualitative interviewing, research field-workArticle presents field-work experiences and reflections of the group of researchers who conducted qualitative (in-depth) interviews in the research project "Trajectories of family model and the social networks: intergenerational perspective" (code No. VP1-3.1-ŠMM-07-K-01-106). Qualitative research aims to identify the perspectives of research participants, their interpretations and meanings attached to life events, experiences or objects. Qualitative interviews applied in the research project provided rich qualitative data. Also, researchers collected data on the practical aspects of qualitative research that are not widely described in the studies dedicated to qualitative research methodology. Conducting qualitative interviews is a challenging research activity. In order to receive sound qualitative data, researchers have to be prepared, experienced and trained. Therefore, the main motive behind this article is to review and share qualitative interview field-work realities, revealing many aspects that might not come into consideration previous to conducting research, though they can have an impact on the quality of the data collected. The applied method in the article is systematization, description and analysis of the records (notes and reflections) from researchers’ field-work diaries. The article covers the following issues: the process of contacting research participants works; the main challenges of social and physical interview environment, and the main challenges for the researcher during the interview. The authors conclude that qualitative field-work can often be unexpected and challenging. Common terms and generalised examples in research methodology literature do not always reflect the realities of field-work. Qualitative field-work requires flexibility and ability to efficiently react to on-going situations of a different nature. Summarising their experiences, researchers provide insight and recommendations that can be helpful for other researchers to better understand the field-work element of qualitative research process as well as build upon the advancement of qualitative research activities
Vidurkinio lauko Hamiltoniano tikrinių reikšmių uždavinys
We consider the mean field Hamiltonian HV = κ ΔV + ξ(·) in l2(V ), where V = {x} is a finite set. Characteristic equations for eigenvalues and expressions for eigenfunctions of HV are obtained. Using this result, the spectral representation of the solution of the corresponding ("head transition\u27\u27) differential equation is derived.Darbe gautos vidurkinio lauko operatoriaus tikrinių reikšmių charakteringoji lygtis bei tikrinių funkcijų išraiškos. Šie rezultatai taikomi tiriant atitinkamos tiesinės diferencialinės lygties sprendinio skleidimą tikrinėmis funkcijomis
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
