Checklist of ferns and lycophytes from the Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira, Iporanga, São Paulo, Brazil
No full textWe present the floristic survey of ferns and lycophytes from the "Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira" (PETAR), a remnant of Atlantic Rain Forest of Southeastern Brazil, in São Paulo state. Besides a complete list of species, we also provide information on habit, geographic distribution, and conservation status. Among the 237 taxa, there are 235 species, one variety and one hybrid, distributed in 29 families and 74 genera. Ferns are represented by 223 taxa, whereas the lycophytes were represented by 14. The most representative families are Polypodiaceae (31 spp.), Pteridaceae (29 spp.) and Dryopteridaceae (28 spp.). The most diverse genera are Thelypteris (23 spp.), Asplenium (19 spp.), Elaphoglossum and Blechnum (10 spp. each). Noteworthy is the presence of Ctenitis anniesii, Dicksonia sellowiana, Elaphoglossum iguapense, E. prestonii, E. strictum, Thelypteris concinna, T. araucariensis and T. hatschbachii, all of them considered as endangered species in São Paulo state
Taxonomic novelties in Cyclodium (Dryopteridaceae) and a key to the species with free veins
No full textBackground – Cyclodium is a neotropical fern genus comprising about ten species. Most species are found in northern South America, and the foothills of the Guiana Shield is an important region for species diversification. Our phylogenetic and taxonomic studies of the genus demonstrated the need to describe a new species and to recognize a variety at species level.Methods – This study is based on herbarium specimens from CAY, HUA, INPA, MBM, NY, P, RB, UC, UFP, UPCB, and US. Morphological characters were analyzed using standard procedures. The indumentum and spores of the new species were studied using a scanning electron microscope. Species delimitation is proposed based on our preliminary phylogenetic studies, as well as on morphology and geographical distribution.Key results – Cyclodium alansmithii Bohn &amp; Labiak is recognized as a new species, described, and illustrated. The most similar species is Cyclodium inerme (Fée) A.R.Sm., from which it differs by ovate-lanceolate and bicolored scales, reduced fronds, truncate pinna bases, and non-ciliate indusia. Cyclodium alansmithii is currently assessed as Endangered (EN) using IUCN criteria, but more fieldwork and herbarium studies are necessary to establish a more accurate conservation assessment. Cyclodium trianae (Mett.) A.R.Sm. var. chocoense A.R.Sm. is here elevated to species rank. A key to species of Cyclodium with free veins is provided

No full textEm 1813, Friedrich Schleiermacher publicou “Sobre os diferentes métodos de tradução”, abrindo espaço para uma consistente discussão acerca da tensão “estranhamento–domesticação”. O filósofo passa pela questão do que seria uma preservação do texto original a fim de que seja transmitido aos leitores um patrimônio de outra sociedade, por meio da tradução. José Paulo Paes, poeta, ensaísta e profícuo tradutor paulista. É autor de Tradução: a ponte necessária. Aspectos e problemas da arte de traduzir. Nesse livro, ele comenta sobre escolhas linguísticas que fez ao traduzir alguns textos poéticos, sobre questões concernentes à crítica e à teoria da tradução. Na presente análise serão discutidos pontos de intercessão entre o discurso do tradutor brasileiro e o do filósofo alemão, no que tange à tradução de textos literários – principalmente quanto à busca por uma equivalência estrangeirizante no texto traduzido.In 1813 Friedrich Schleiermacher published "On the Different Methods of Translating", paving the way for a consistent discussion about the tension "strangeness-domestication". The philosopher deals with the preservation of the original text in order to transmit to readers the assets of another society through translation.José Paulo Paes, a Brazilian poet, essayist and prolific translator. He published Tradução: a ponte necessária. Aspectos e problemas da arte de traduzir. In this book, the author, who was born in São Paulo, comments some of his linguistic choices when he translated poetic texts. He also points out some issues concerning the criticism and theory of translation.In this analysis, points of intersections between the discourse of the Brazilian translator and the German philosopher will be discussed - especially regarding the search for a foreign equivalence in the translated text.
Alfabetizar e politizar: Angicos, 50 anos depois
No full textThis paper doesn´t attempt to situate the figure of Paulo Freire in the context of Latin America
or international pedagogy. In this paper, the author presents a synthesis of the Angicos (Brasil) political
literacy experience, asking what Freire learned from the Angiços experience. The following questions are
developed in the paper: How Freire consolidated his pedagogical model through a social science based on a
critical hermeneutics? How his thinking evolved into a theory of social and cultural reproduction, looking
particularly to the role o education? And, how then Freire moved into a critical social psychology focusing
on domination and the developmental pedagogical subject? Freire was inspired by the profound political
and pedagogical experience of Angicos and his political pedagogical practice, understood praxis as collective
learning. At the conclusion, the author discusses the two obsessions of Freire, already present in the Angicos
experience and that stay with him throughout his life: the relationship between democracy, citizenship and
education, and education as a postcolonial ethical act of social transformation.Este trabalho não se foca na figura de Paulo Freire no contexto da América Latina ou da
pedagogia internacional. O artigo apresenta uma síntese da experiência política de alfabetização desenvolvida
por Freire en Angicos (Brasil) e questiona o que Freire aprendeu com ela. Diversas perguntas são
desenvolvidas neste trabalho: como Freire conseguiu consolidar seu modelo de ensino como uma ciência
social baseado na hermenêutica crítica? Como o pensamento de Freire evoluiu de uma teoría da reprodução
social e cultural, olhando em particular para o papel da educação? E, como logo Freire desenvolveu uma
psicologia crítica e social para analizar a dominação e o desenvolvimento do sujeito pedagógico? Freire tendo
sido inspirado pela extraordinária experiência política e pedagógica de Angicos e pela sua práctica política
pedagógica, entendeu a praxis como uma aprendizagem coletiva. Nas conclusões, o autor analisa duas das
maiores obsessões de Freire: a relação entre a democracia, cidadania e educação e a educação e a educação
como ato ético postcolonial de transformação social
