In the polygraph work of Mário de Andrade, the essayists versant linked to the Brazilian Art historiographer, shows while creation procces in Padre Jesuíno do Monte Carmelo study that the author was about to consider concluded, when he died in.1945. This diploma thesis deals with the literary genre 'factual novel', a novel based on actual events, scenes and characters. The precursors of this kind of literature are the American factographers who, as is crucial for the non-fiction novel, began to combine fiction and fact and created a literature that is based on real life. The first formally recognised work of this genre appeared in America in 1965, Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood", which is the result of a series of reports and novels and thus emphasises the link between literature and journalism. The first Italian text of this genre, Roberto Saviano's "Gomorra", also emphasises this link and highlights its importance for the non-fiction novel. With his non-fiction novel, Saviano revived the factual literature in Italy, which has been booming in recent years. In Italy, however, the precursors are not the factographers, but the detective novel, which was also inspired by true events. Finally, the works "Malerba", "Cani senza padrone", "Vento di tramontana" and "Per una madre" by the Italian journalist and author Carmelo Sardo will be examined for characteristics of a non-fiction novel and analysed whether his novels can also be counted among the genre based on facts. Through interviews with Carmelo Sardo it was possible to gain an insight into his way of thinking, his feelings and his life.vorgelegt von Jasmin HoferZusammenfassungen in Deutsch und EnglischAbweichender Titel laut Übersetzung des Verfassers/der VerfasserinDiplomarbeit Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz 2020 288

Here we report on the joint IXPE and XMM-Newton observations of the soft γ-repeater SGR 1806-20. The spectral and timing properties of SGR 1806-20 derived from XMM-Newton data are in broad agreement with previous measurements; however, we found the source at an all-time low persistent flux level. No significant polarization was measured apart from the 4-5 keV energy range, where a probable detection with PD = 31.6% ± 10.5% and PA = − 17 .° 6 − 15 .° 0 + 15 .° 5 was obtained. The resulting polarization signal, together with the upper limits we derive at lower and higher energies (2-4 and 5-8 keV, respectively), is compatible with a picture in which thermal radiation from the condensed star surface is reprocessed by resonant Compton scattering in the magnetosphere, similar to what was proposed for the bright magnetar 4U 0142+61. © 2023. Models of care in emergency neurology: from the Neuro Fast Track to the emergency neurologist—a position paper of the Italian Association for Emergency Neurology (ANEU)

    No full text
In the context of an adequate health care organization, the figure of the neurologist as an emergency operator (in the emergency room-ER-and/or in a dedicated outpatient clinic) is crucial for an effective functional connection with the territory (and therefore with general practitioners), a reduction in inappropriate ER accesses, specific diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to neurological emergencies in the ER and a reduction in nonspecific or even unnecessary instrumental investigations. In this position paper of the Italian Association of Emergency Neurology (ANEU: Associazione Neurologia dell'Emergenza Urgenza), these issues are addressed, and two important organizational solutions are proposed:The Neuro Fast Track, as an outpatient organization approach strongly linked to general practitioners and non-neurological specialists and dedicated to cases with deferrable urgency (to be assessed within 72 h)The identification of an emergency neurologist, who is engaged in ER assessments as a consultant and involved in the management of the semi-intensive care unit of the emergency neurology and the stroke unit according to an appropriate rotation, as well as in consultations for patients with neurological emergencies in inpatient wardsThe possibility of computerizing the screening of patients with deferrable urgency in the Neuro Fast Track is described. A dedicated app represents an important tool that can facilitate the identification of patients for whom deferred assessment is appropriate, the scheduling of neurological examinations and reductions in the booking time through a more rapid approach to specialist assessment and subsequent investigations

Drivers of regional efficiency differentials in Italy: technical inefficiency or allocative distortions?

    No full text
This paper estimates regional economic efficiency differentials at the firm level in the Italian manufacturing sector over the period 1998-2003. We implement an input distance function approach providing measures of both technical inefficiency and allocative distortions in the choice of input mixes. Our results confirm the substantial technical efficiency gap suffered by firms located in Southern regions, thus providing empirical support to the “structural and technological gap” interpretation of the Italian dualism. On the other hand, allocative distortions in the use of inputs show less remarkable regional differences. As for policy implications, our results suggest the need for a re-allocation of public resources for development policies from business incentives measures towards public investments.Technical and allocative efficiency, Input distance function, Development policies

We report here the results of the first IXPE observation of a weakly magnetized neutron star, GS 1826−238, performed on 2022 March 29–31 when the source was in a high soft state. An upper limit (99.73% confidence level) of 1.3% for the linear polarization degree is obtained over the IXPE 2–8 keV energy range. Coordinated INTEGRAL and NICER observations were carried out simultaneously with IXPE. The spectral parameters obtained from the fits to the broadband spectrum were used as inputs for Monte Carlo simulations considering different possible geometries of the X-ray emitting region. Comparing the IXPE upper limit with these simulations, we can put constraints on the geometry and inclination angle of GS 1826–238. © 2023. The Author(s).
