No full textContext: Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against private general practitioners (GPs) perpetrated by their patients, are common, affecting practitioners’ mental health and their relationships with patients. To date, there are only a very few qualitative studies exploring the experiences of GPs facing this phenomenon.Objective: Explore GPs’ experiences in private practice facing SGBV from their patients, focusing on perceived psychological impact and coping strategies of physicians. Method : This is a phenomenological qualitative study. Participants were recruited by purposive sampling. Eight in-depth interviews were conducted between august 2023 and April 2024 with GPs who experienced SGBV from their patients and analyzed according to a method inspired by interpretative phenomenological analysis. Results: SGBV can take many forms, from gender-based remarks and inappropriate physical behaviors to harassment. The psychological impact differs between male and female GPs, with the latter reporting feelings of fear, insecurity and self-doubt. To protect themselves, physicians adopt postural prevention strategies, modifying their attitude and appearance, and organizational strategies, including working in group practices or selectively choosing their patient base. The sensitivity of these doctors, reinforced by their personal experiences, is reflected in their commitment to the fight against SGBV. In response to this recurring problem, all participants stressed the importance of raising awareness and training future GPs to meet these challenges. Conclusion: Our study sheds light on the reality of sexism and sexual violence suffered by GPs from their patients, their psychological repercussions and the coping measures developed to face them. It also underlines the active involvement of doctors in the fight against SGBV and the need to raise awareness and train future GPs in these challenges, to ensure a safe and respectful working environment.Contexte : Les violences sexistes et sexuelles (VSS) envers les médecins généralistes exerçant en libéral de la part de leurs patient·es sont fréquentes, impactant la santé mentale des médecins et la relation médecin-patient·e. A ce jour, il existe très peu d’études qualitatives explorant le vécu des médecins généralistes confronté·es à ce phénomène.Objectif : Explorer le vécu des médecins généralistes exerçant en libéral, confronté·es aux VSS de leurs patient·es, en s'intéressant à l’impact psychologique perçu et aux stratégies d'adaptation des médecins.Méthode : Il s’agit d’une étude qualitative phénoménologique. Les participant·es ont été sélectionné·es par échantillonnage raisonné. Huit entretiens compréhensifs ont été menés entre août 2023 et avril 2024 auprès de médecins généralistes ayant été exposé·es à des VSS de la part de patient·es et analysés selon une méthode inspirée de l’analyse phénoménologique interprétative. Résultats : Les VSS se manifestent sous différentes formes, allant de remarques sexistes et comportements physiques inappropriés jusqu’à des faits de harcèlement. L’impact psychologique perçu par les médecins diffère entre les médecins hommes et femmes, ces dernières exprimant des sentiments de peur, d’insécurité et de remise en question. Pour se protéger, ils·elles adoptent des stratégies de prévention posturale, modifiant leur attitude et apparence, et des stratégies organisationnelles, favorisant une installation en groupe ou la sélection de leur patientèle. La sensibilité de ces médecins, renforcée par leurs expériences personnelles, se manifeste par un engagement dans la lutte contre les VSS. Face à ce problème récurrent, tous·tes soulignent l’importance de sensibiliser et de former les futur·es médecins à ces enjeux.Conclusion : Notre étude met en lumière la réalité que représentent le sexisme et les violences sexuelles subies par les médecins généralistes de la part de leurs patient·es, leurs répercussions psychologiques et les mesures d’adaptation mises en place pour y faire face. Elle souligne par ailleurs l’engagement actif des médecins dans la lutte contre les VSS et la nécessité de sensibiliser et former les futur·es médecins à ces enjeux, pour garantir un environnement de travail sécurisant et respectueux
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
