Structure and function of longin SNAREs
Get PDFInternational audienceSoluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) proteins constitute the core membrane fusion machinery of intracellular transport and intercellular communication. A little more than ten years ago, it was proposed that the long N-terminal domain of a subset of SNAREs, henceforth called the longin domain, could be a crucial regulator with multiple functions in membrane trafficking. Structural, biochemical and cell biology studies have now produced a large set of data that support this hypothesis and indicate a role for the longin domain in regulating the sorting and activity of SNAREs. Here, we review the first decade of structure-function data on the three prototypical longin SNAREs: Ykt6, VAMP7 and Sec22b. We will, in particular, highlight the conserved molecular mechanisms that allow longin domains to fold back onto the fusion-inducing SNARE coiled-coil domain, thereby inhibiting membrane fusion, and describe the interactions of longin SNAREs with proteins that regulate their intracellular sorting. This dual function of the longin domain in regulating both the membrane localization and membrane fusion activity of SNAREs points to its role as a key regulatory module of intracellular trafficking

Longin est du côté de Cicéron contre les atticistes (Lysias) : son grec pathos ou extase traduit le latin mouere . Mais à l'intérieur de ce cadre commun, Longin cherche à se différencier de Cicéron en privilégiant un sublime de la brièveté et non de la copia. Aux yeux de Quintilien ou de la Renaissance, c'est une illusion : la deinôsis démosthénienne est l' indignatio cicéronienne. En isolant le moment le plus spectaculaire de la copia , Longin déplaît à tous ceux qui veulent enseigner l'architecture des discours.Longinus' On the Sublime is decoded according to the categories of Ciceronian rhetoric. Longinus sides with Cicero against the atticists (Lysias): his Greek word, pathos or extasy, translates the latin mouere. But within the limits of this common ground, Longinus attempts to differentiate himself from Cicero by favouring a sublime marked by brevity, rather than by copia. In the eyes of Quintilian or of the Renaissance, such an atttempt is pure illusion. Demonstenes' deinôsis is but Cicero's indignatio. By boxing in the most spectacular aspect of the copia, Longinus displeases all those who wish to further support the role of the structures of speech

No full textLongin zählt zu den berühmtesten serbischen Malern des 16. Jahhunderts, das Jahrhundert in dem das Patriarchat von Peć erneuert wurde, wenngleich das Land unter der Regentschaft des osmanischen Reiches war. Er ist der meist erforschte Maler seiner zeit, die Schriften über ihn sind in vielen Büchern verstreut, auf Grund dessen ist die vorliegende Masterarbeit eine Monografie des Malers Longin. Ich habe mir zur Aufgabe gemacht alle seine bis heute erhaltenen Kunstwerke in einer Arbeit unterzubringen. Die ersten Abschnitte beinhalten die geschichtliche sowie die künstlerische Erläuterung, die von enormer Wichtigkeit war für die kulturelle Erwecken im Land. Longins kreative Teilnahme in den Kirchen war mit Gewißheit nicht selbstverständlich, es war eigentlich mehr ein signifikanter Privileg, wie für den Künstler so auch für seine Auftraggeber. Bis heute hat sich eine imposante Anzahl seiner Ikonen erhalten, sowie die einzigen Wandmalerein für die man mit Sicherheit sagen kann das sie von Longins Hand entstanden sind. Alle seine Arbeiten sind hervorragende Meisterleistungen, insbesondere die bekannteste und bedeutendste unter seinen Ikonen und zwar die Abbildung des Königs Stefan Dečanski mit Szenen aus seinem Leben. Die beachtenswerte Tatsache ist das fast alle seine Kunstwerke, die sich bis heute erhalten haben, immer noch die Kirchen schmücken für die sie Longin geschaffen hat und das die meisten Ikonen in einem recht guten Zustand sind
