    CBDB Kinship Regularized Dataset

    No full text
The kinship in the China Biographical Database (CBDB) contains more than 400 relations, which are hard to conduct deduction and analysis. We regularized the relations to 3 basic relations, father, mother and husband. The data contains around 200,000 kinship instances. The first version contains father relation data, which can be easily used to draw the family trees

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

On the analysis of deep drawdowns for the Lévy insurance risk model

    No full text
In this paper, we study the magnitude and the duration of deep drawdowns for the Lévy insurance risk model through the characterization of the Laplace transform of a related stopping time. Relying on a temporal approximation approach (e.g., Li et al. (2018)), the proposed methodology allows for a unified treatment of processes with bounded and unbounded variation paths whereas these two cases used to be treated separately. In particular, we extend the results of Landriault et al. (2017) and Surya (2019). We later analyze certain limiting cases of our main results where consistency with some known drawdown results in the literature will be shown.</p

On occupation times in the red of Lévy risk models

    No full text
In this paper, we obtain analytical expression for the distribution of the occupation time in the red (below level 0) up to an (independent) exponential horizon for spectrally negative Lévy risk processes and refracted spectrally negative Lévy risk processes. This result improves the existing literature in which only the Laplace transforms are known. Due to the close connection between occupation time and many other quantities, we provide a few applications of our results including future drawdown, inverse occupation time, Parisian ruin with exponential delay, and the last time at running maximum.</p
