This research has been conducted especially by examining the preaching of Cornelio Musso, one of the genre's most representative voices, not yet adequately studied. The interest in the figure and work of Musso lies not only in the role this Franciscan preacher played in doctrinal and spiritual spheres during the time of the Council, but also in the rhetorical and stylistic novelty of his sermons, in their humanistic background, in the relationships he held with the contemporary literary and cultural scene, especially in Padua and Rome, and, finally, in the contribution that his collections of sermons gave to the evolution of Italian prose

After drawing up a list of names that, in his opinion, cannot be neglected, the author focuses especially on four poets, whose performance should be better known: Matteo Pelliti, Claudio Pasi, Mariateresa Giani, Giuseppe Grattacaso
