The author explores the concept of honor with particular reference to the problem of honor killings and tries to answer two questions, the first theoretical and the second ethical-political. Is the ideal of honor inextricably connected with typical forms of domination and gender violence of patriarchal cultures, or is the concept of honor redeemable and distinguishable from those codes and mentality? In order to contrast the honor-based violence is it preferable to completely break with tradition and the language of honor or is it better to try to challenge from within the logic of honor, through the spread and entrenchment of a new ethos that links the ideal of honor to respect and non-violence, especially in gender relations

L’autore propone una mappa delle rappresentazioni della democrazia che non ricalca le suddivisioni delle scuole politiche tradizionali ma che cerca piuttosto di cogliere al di là dei fondamenti ideologici la specifica posizione epistemologica e psicologica assunta dall’osservatore nei confronti della democrazia e dei regimi esistenti. Emergono dunque dieci possibili rappresentazioni della democrazia che possiamo suddividere in tre macro approcci: un approccio statico che comprende un filone apologetico e un filone di disincanto; un approccio conflittuale che comprende un filone spirituale, un filone critico e un filone agonistico; un approccio dinamico che comprende un filone evolutivo, un filone involutivo, un filone di radicalizzazione, un filone di trasformazione, un filone di oltrepassamento. La proposta è dunque quella di incrociare gli sguardi e integrare, soppesandoli uno per uno, questi diversi punti di vista, piuttosto che assumere unilateralmente uno di essi.
Imagining the unthought. Crossed views on democracy

The author offers a map of the representations of democracy, which does not reproduce the subdivision of the traditional political schools; on the contrary, it tries to go beyond the ideological foundations and to catch the specific epistemological and psychological position assumed by the observer as regards democracy and the existent regimes. Therefore the article proposes ten possible representation of democracy, which can be subdivided into three macro approaches: a static approach, with an apologetic trend and a disenchanted one; an adversarial approach, with three different trends (spiritual, critical and competitive); a dynamic approach, with an evolutionary, an involutional, a radicalization, a transformation and an exceeding trend. The article suggests to cross the different views and to integrate all these perspectives, evaluating them carefully, instead of fully assuming only one of them

Beyond the idea of work of art as an object, made and finished by an individual author, we are now experiencing art as an open praxis and an action of collective consumption. Theatre and music growingly blend together under the label of performing arts, involving the execution of something which has been previously prepared and rehearsed. In live popular music, for instance, tribute bands have recently been gaining large favour. But what exactly is a tribute band? Why such a success today and not at the time of the pop-rock explosion? Are there further socio-cultural meanings to this practice? Could it be seen as a form of «ritualized resistance» to market strategies?[...

No full textIl saggio introduce il volume Scena evento scrittura in cui è raccolta una ampia selezione di saggi dedicati da Maurizio Grande a problemi diversi di teoria del teatro, elaborati in un periodo che copre gli ultimi tre lustri circa della sua attività di studioso. Della vastissima produzione saggistica sul teatro (mai interrotta neppure con il passaggio all’insegnamento di materie cinematografiche), si sono inclusi non i saggi critici dedicati ad autori e/o opere (neppure quelli, numerosi e importanti, su Carmelo Bene, destinati a una pubblicazione autonoma), quanto piuttosto quegli scritti che rispondono all’esigenza di produrre una riflessione più marcatamente teorica intorno a questioni di fondo relative alla possibilità stessa di definire l’istituzione-teatro e la sua destinazione/collocazione nella società delle comunicazioni di massa. Della pluralità di tematiche e di prospettive di indagine affrontate dà conto l’articolazione in sei sezioni in cui gli scritti sono stati raggruppati (“La parola, la soggettività”, “La scrittura di scena”, “Pensare il teatro”, “L’attore”, “Artaud, oltre il teatro”, “Destino del teatro”). Questa introduzione critica fornisce gli indispensabili elementi di contestualizzazione storica e discute le principali questioni soggiacenti ai diversi interventi raccolti
Predatory Open Access in Rehabilitation
No full textIncreasingly scholars and researchers are being solicited by predatory open access journals seeking manuscript submissions and abusing the author-pays model by charging authors with publishing fees without any or proper peer review. Such questionable editorial practices are threatening the reputation and credibility of scholarly publishing. To date, no investigation has been conducted on this phenomenon in the field of
rehabilitation. This study attempts to identify specific predatory journals operating in this field to quantify the phenomenon and its geographic distribution. Beall’s List has been used to this end which, although not perfect, is a comprehensive and up-to-date report of predatory publishers.
Of the 1113 publishers on the list, 59 journals were identified, for a total of 5610 published articles. The median number of articles published by each journal was 21, and the median amount of article processing charges was $499. Only 1 out of 59 journals was included in the Directory of Open Access Journals, whereas 7 (12%) were indexed by PubMed. Most of the publishers were based in India (36%) followed by the United States (25%) and Pakistan (5%), and 25% were without a verifiable address. The data indicate that the threat of predatory publishing in rehabilitation is real. Physiatrists, physiotherapists, researchers, and academics operating in this field are advised to use the tools available to recognize predatory practices before considering publishing in open access journals

social card in Rome. Actually, Rome is the only metropolitan city, among
those involved in the experimental phase of the social card that has not
yet published the final list of beneficiaries. The reason of the delay in activating
this measure of contrast to poverty is mainly rooted in three factors:
the fragmentation of the informative system; the local elections held
in 2013; the scandal of «Mafia Capitale». The author discusses critically the
process followed by the City Council government to introduce this measure,
putting into evidence the difficulties and the obstacles met
