Dr. Abdullah KADAYIFÇI Bu çalışmada, Tekirdağ koşullarında yaygın olarak yetiştirilen ayçiçeği (Helianthus annum L.) bitkisinin su - üretim fonksiyonları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla bitkiye toplam büyüme mevsimi boyunca su ihtiyacını eksik, tam ve fazla biçimde karşılayacak şekilde sulama suyu uygulanmış, elde edilen değerlerden yararlanarak su - üretim fonksiyonu belirlenmiştir. Sonuçta, bitki su ihtiyacının tam karşılandığı konuya 533,07 mm sulama suyu uygulanmış, 730,42 mm su tüketimi ölçülmüş ve 646,42 kg/da verim elde edilmiştir. Bu değer susuz konuya göre %61 daha fazla olmuştur. Bitkinin mevsimlik su - verim ilişkisi faktörü (ky) 0,60 olarak bulunmuştur. Sulama suyu ve su kullanım randımanı sonuçlarına bakıldığında en etkin su kullanımının bitki su ihtiyacının %33'ünün karşılandığı konudan elde edildiği saptanmıştır. For this purpose, deficit, adequate and over irrigation water were applied to plant and water - yield relationship was obtained. As a result, total amount of irrigation water applied to whole growing season was 533 mm, total evapotranspiration was 730 mm and yield was 646,42 kg/da for unstressed application. Yield under non - stressed condition was much more of 61% than that of non - irrigated application. Yield response factor was determined as 0,60. Maximum IWUE and WUE were obtained from the plots where only 33% of water requirement (Si) was supplied. Denemede, sulamalara 40 cm etkili kök derinliğindeki kullanılabilir su tutma kapasitesinin % 30, % 50, % 70'i tüketildiğinde başlanmış, uygulama damla sulama yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Dikkate alman şahit konuya ise deneme süresince hiç sulama suyu uygulanmamıştır. Bunun yanında, yaklaşık on günlük periyotlarda toprak neminin azalması yöntemine göre bitki su tüketimi değerleri ölçülmüştür. Ölçülen bitki su tüketimi değerleri ile feklı yöntemlerle hesaplanan referens bitki su tüketimi değerleri karşılaştınlmıştır. Sonuçta, sulamanın ve sulamaya başlanacak nem düzeyinin soğan verimini etkilediği, en yüksek verimin kullanılabilir su tutma kapasitesinin % 30'u tüketildiğinde sulamaya başlanan konudan, en düşük verimin ise şahit konudan elde edildiği saptanmıştır. Gerek sulu ile kuru konular, gerekse sulama konulan arasında verim ve verim öğeleri açısından istatistiksel olarak önemli farklılık ortaya çıkmış, ancak, kuru madde miktarları arasında fark gözlenmemiştir. En yüksek verimin elde edildiği önerilen konuda, mevsimlik bitki su tüketimi değeri ortalama 419.9 mm olmuştur. Deneme konulan için en uygun referens bitki su tüketimi tahmin eşitliğinin Jensen-Haise olduğu saptanmış ve bu yönteme ilişkin bitki katsayısı kg eğrisi hazırlanmıştır. The aims of this study were to obtain yield and yield components, irrigation scheduling, evapotranspiration for onion under irrigation and no irrigation conditions. Irrigation water was applied at soil water depletion fractions of 0.30, 0.50 and 0.70 into root depth of 0.40 m, by drip irrigation method. In addition, evaporation values were measured for about 10 days periods during the whole growing season. The measured evapotranspiration values were compared with the reference evapotranspiration values calculated by different estimation equation. As a result, it was found that bulb yield was affected by irrigation and soil water depletion fractions. The highest bulb yield was obtained at the plots when irrigation water was applied at soil water depletion fraction of 0.30, and moreover, all yield components were maximum at plots mentioned above but dry matter at bulb was not affected under different experiment statistically. The seasonal evapotranspiration was measured as 419.9 mm at the plots in which the highest yield was obtained. The most suitable estimation method for onion evapotranspiration in Tekirdağ conditions was the Jensen-Haise method and a curve of ko crop coefficent was prepared.     The paralytic shellfish toxin profiles and global distribution of the dinoflagellate Alexandrium minutum Halim

    A comprehensive review was undertaken of the distribution of the toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium minutum Halim. The primary threat to humans caused by A. minutum is because of the production of paralytic shellfish toxins (PSTs) which can accumulate in seafood vectors, which if consumed lead to the human condition known as paralytic shellfish poisoning. Within this work it became apparent that the known global spread of this important species has increased, either due to range expansion, as a consequence of improved or novel investigation, or as a combination of these factors. Those populations of A. minutum capable of producing PSTs display a range of different toxin profiles with differing saxitoxin derivatives or differing proportions of common toxins being present. As yet no genetic basis for these differences in toxin productivity has been isolated although there are currently 4 recognised clades within the A. minutum species the two principle clades being the Pacific and the Global. A novel analysis of A. minutum toxin profiles was undertaken by applying K means clustering to PST profiles extracted from the literature. This analysis generated 5 distinctive clusters, each relating to a statistically separable toxin profile. Interestingly examples of each of the two major clades had representatives from different toxin profile clusters. This suggests further, currently undetermined genetic separation or relatedness between clades, as the differences in the ITS region of the ribosome upon which the clades are based, does not seem to be coupled to the specifics of the toxin profile. It also raises the possibility that there is an environmental driver for the differing toxin profiles, although profiles clustered geographically in some cases in others they were either cosmopolitan or spatially isolated. This new approach offers an additional tool with which to examine the relationships between populations and target further genetic research

    This article aims to see how the role of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib in the spread of Islam in Mandailing Natal. Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib is a major scholar figure who is quite well known in Mandailing Natal and its surroundings. However, the role of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib in developing the religion of Islam, especially in Purbabaru, the people there participated in many recitations, and the people there were more active in religion. The researcher aims to find out the historical process of the entry and development of Islam in Mandailing Natal, the life of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib and his role in the development of Islam in Mandailing Natal and the writings of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib in spreading Islam in Mandailing. The research that the author is doing is field research using historical research methods, and this research was conducted in Purbabaru Village, Lembah Sorik Marapi District, Mandailing Natal Regency, and the informants in this study were Musthafawiyah alums who were considered more knowledgeable about the role of Sheikh Abdul Halim Preacher. Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib's relationship with the community is different from that of his teacher, Sheikh Musthafa Husein because he teaches more in the classroom, such as giving recitations at home to the community and his students on a scheduled basis, and Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib has knowledge in the field of Sufism

    Riset berikut punya tujuan agar mengetahui tingkatan kepuasan konsumen berdasarkan kinerja dan kepentingan pada Lapangan Futsal Persada Halim Jakarta Timur serta untuk mengetahui atribut apa yang menyebabkan kepuasan konsumen Lapangan Futsal Persada Halim Jakarta Timur. Data yang diterapkan bersumber dari data primer yang didapati melalui angket penelitian yang dibagikan pada 86 responden sementara data sekunder didapat pada buku ilmiah atau sumber data lain yang berkaitan pada penelitian. Metodologi riset yang dipakai oleh penulis ada deskriptif kulitatif. Untuk tekhnik analisis data, penulis menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis, Likert Score, table Anova dan grafik Kartesius untuk membuktikan atau mengetahui uji statistik. Melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui baik variabel kinerja dan kepentingan tingkat keakuratan data melalui table anova di peroleh Гn kinerja = 0,965 dan Гn kepentingan = 0,968. Dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya data alhasil pembagian angket yang dilaksanakan peneliti terhadap responden dikatakan sah. Dari hasil nilai sikap, maka total sikap maksimal 287,59 serta nilai total sikap minimal 68,62. Dan presentase nilai sikapnya bernilai 88,48% lantaran hasil presentase nilai sikap melebihi daripada 80% oleh karenanya tingkatan kepuasan konsumen pada pelayanan lapangan futsal persada halim Jakarta Timur dikatakan sangat puas. Dapat di tarik kesimpulan berlandaskan hasil riset yaitu atribut yang menjadi prioritas utama adalah tersedianya pendingin udara disetiap lapangan persada halim, terpasang beberapa CCTV di persada halim, karyawan persada halim memberikan pelayanan khusus jika ada kendala layanan, pertolongan karyawan persada halim kepada konsumen yang cidera pada saat bermain. Saran yang dapat diberikan penulis, lapangan futsal Persada Halim sebaiknya terus mempertahankan tersedianya pendingin udara di setiap lapangan Persada Halim, terpasang beberapa CCTV di Persada Halim, karyawan Persada Halim memberikan pelayanan khusus jika ada kendala layanan, dan pertolongan karyawan Persada Halim kepada konsumen yang cidera pada saat bermain.     Light-emission from conjugated dendrimers and polymers

    This thesis reports the photophysical and electroluminescence studies undertaken on two types of material: polymeric and dendritic. The dendritic architecture is a recent concept adopted to develop new materials for light-emitting diodes. The dendritic structure offers a combination of properties of both polymers and small organic molecules whilst having their own interesting characteristic of optimising processibility, charge transport, and optical properties independently. The dendritic structure consists of functional surface groups, conjugated dendrons and a conjugated core. Initial optical (absorption and photoluminescence) studies revealed that the dendrimer emission originates from the core and is independent of excitation wavelength. This was investigated further in distyrylbenzene based dendrimers where the effect of dendrimer generation number on photoluminescence and electroluminescence properties was studied. All dendrimers emit blue electroluminescence with, in some cases, reasonable electroluminescence quantum efficiency in the range of 0.09 % and brightness up to 150 Cd m(^-2). Having established that the furmel effect, where excitation is successfully transferred to the dendrimer core in both PL and EL, different chromophores were incorporated in the dendrimer structure. Colour control was thus demonstrated in EL devices of the different dendrimers, showing the possibility of using a large number of chromophores in a processible form for EL applications. Conjugated polymers were also studied to investigate the nature of the emitting species (poly(p-pyridine)) and the effect of side- chains (poly(p-phenylenevinylene)). In poly(p-pyridine) the emission was found to be strongly dependent on pyridyl ring rotation affecting the emission and its quantum yield while the side-chains in the poly(p-phenylenevinylene) derivatives were found to affect polymer properties such as degree of conversion of non-conjugated to conjugated polymer. The PL quantum yield system was set-up and proved useful in assessing synthesis of new materials

    Magnetic Fe3O4-natural iron ore/calcium alginate beads as heterogeneous catalyst for Novacron blue dye degradation in water by (photo)Fenton process

    Purposely prepared magnetic nanocomposite beads were investigated as catalysts for the degradation of Novacron blue (NB) dye (a reactive azo dye widely used in textile industries) by Fenton and photo-Fenton processes. Specifically, magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and natural iron ore (NIO) were incorporated into sodium calcium alginate material to form Fe3O4-NIO calcium alginate beads using an inexpensive protocol. While Fe3O4/calcium alginate beads might be a good catalyst for Fenton and photo-Fenton processes, adding NIO could be beneficial to enhance the stability of the magnetic beads. The as-prepared catalyst was characterized by several techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) and Barret-Joyner-Halender (BJH), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and UV–vis diffuse reflectance analyses. Such characterizations showed that the (photo)catalyst was successfully synthesized, as well as its porous nature with a specific surface area of 26 m2/g. Magnetic nanocomposite alginate beads showed adsorptive properties by removing 22 % of NB dye under optimum conditions (pH 2, [NB]0 = 40 mg/L, and 0.2 g dose of beads). This magnetic catalyst proved a great photocatalytic behavior according to its optical properties and contributed as a photo-Fenton catalyst to the degradation of 80 % of NB dye after 120 min treatment compared to only 50 % after 120 min of Fenton process. This cheap, eco-friendly, non-toxic, magnetically separable and stable catalyst was reused for six subsequent photo-Fenton tests. All these advantages show its potential to be used as heterogeneous catalyst in wastewater treatment applications making it worthy of further investigation under more realistic conditions
