Design and Implementation of Direct Form FIR Filter
No full textThe research article presents the design of the direct form of the Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter using VHDL programming language. Multimedia technology and broadband communication demand the low power and high performance design applications in Digital Signal Processing (DSP). The digital filters are most important element of the communication system and DSP. In the paper, 7 tap FIR filter is implemented in Xilinx 14.2 software and functionally simulated in Modelsim 10.1 b software. The design of FIR filter of 4 x 4 configurations uses 9 adders and 16 multipliers. Transposed Structure Design of FIR Filter using VHDL
No full textThe paper focuses on the design of the Finite Impulse response Filter (FIR) Filter using VHDL programming language. In the FIR filter design the two input sequence x(n) and h(n) are considered of length M= 4 and N= 4 for both respectively. The output of FIR filter is the convolution of two sequences with the tap length (M + N - 1=7). The design considerations are followed to test many input sequences. The transposed structure is considered for the design of FIR filter to optimize the delay. The design in developed in Xilinx 14.2 software and waveform are simulated in Modelsim 10.1 software. GWÓŹDŹ, WROCŁAW 2015, 394 PP.The paper is a review of Kino Hanny Schygulli a volume published in the series “Niemcy — Media — Kultura” “Germany — Media — Culture”, edited by Andrzej Gwóźdź. Contributors of the publication represent various disciplines and present their own unique view. As a consequence, the main aim of the volume — which is to show a phenomenon of Schygulla’s art of acting in the broadest perspective — is fulfilled. The actress is presented as a creative entity, an exceptional co-author of films in which she performed. The author of the review claims that although the contributors analyze an interesting and still undescribed issue, the book does not meet the reader’s expectations, provoked by the editor’s initial assumptions expressed in the preface. The biggest deficiency of the volume seems to be the lack of solid theoretical background in describing the connection between the author and the actor developed in theatre and film studies. No full textHanna Krall is an acclaimed journalist and author, whose books were translated into multiple languages. However, relatively little critical attention has been given since her rise to world fame to her early work as a journalist. This article revisits this unjustly neglected part of her biography, when she made her name by reportages portraying the realities of life in Poland in the 1970s (the Edward Gierek's decade) and registering the tensions that led to the political earthquake of 1980 and culminated in the collapse of the communist system in 1989.Stosunkowo zaniedbany naukowo i krytycznie jest wczesny okres twórczości Hanny Krall, wybitnej i szeroko znanej reporterki. Chodzi zwłaszcza o teksty obrazujące życie społeczno-polityczne w epoce Edwarda Gierka oraz rejestrujące coraz silniejsze niepokoje na przełomie lat 70. i 80., prowadzące w konsekwencji do ustrojowej transformacji. narrative models (especially their multi-levelity character), as well as linguistic
devices to achieve the real experience of the imagined space by the recipient. The
author also draws attention to the encouragement for the recipient to open to
otherness, which is inscribed in both works

Książka składa się z wprowadzenia, czterech rozdziałów i ekskursu. W warstwie informacyjnej należy ją uznać za wartościową. W zestawieniu z wcześniejszymi publikacjami na temat udziału Żydów w krakowskiej radzie miejskiej porusza szerszą gamę problemów i przynosi wiele nowych ustaleń. Gorzej wypada warstwa konstrukcyjna i ogólnie warsztatowa.The article present reflections on the book Politycy czy klakierzy? Żydzi w krakowskiej radzie miejskiej w XIX wieku (Kraków, 2019) by Hanna Kozińska-Witt. The author of the publication sought to verify the thesis according to which the activity of Jewish councillors in Kraków was not proportionate to their number. For this purpose, she used the theory of arenas developed by Dietlind Hüchtker. The book consist of introduction, four chapters, and an excursus. Hanna Kozińska-Witt’s book is a valuable source of information. In comparison to earlier publications on the participation of Jews in Kraków’s municipal council, it tackles a broader set of issues and offers fresh research outcomes. However, the construction and overall methodological aspect of the book is lacking
