Patienters och anhörigas upplevelser av medlidande inom vården
No full textI denna studie undersöktes patienters och anhörigas upplevelser av medlidande inom vården, med bakgrunden att man inom forskningen inte kunnat nå konsensus gällande hur medlidande definieras och mäts och att det förekommer individuella variationer i hur medlidande upplevs och förmedlas. Syftet med studien var att genom att utforska patienters och anhörigas upplevelser av medlidande inom vården, bidra till en fördjupad förståelse. Frågeställningen löd: ”Hur upplevs medlidande av patienter och anhöriga inom vården?”
Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter utgörs av den caritativa vårdteorin enligt Katie Eriksson samt det transpersonella vårdförhållandet av Jean Watson. En kvalitativ forskningsdesign tillämpades med semistrukturerade intervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod. För analys av data utfördes en kvalitativ induktiv innehållsanalys enligt Lundman och Hällgren Graneheim (2017). I studien inkluderades 12 svenskspråkiga respondenter, varav 10 patienter och två anhöriga, i ett åldersspann på 50–93 år inom cancer- och hemvårdkontext.
Resultatet indelades i två huvudkategorier: Upplevelser av medlidande inom vården samt Utmaningar för upplevelser av medlidande inom vården. I resultatet framkommer hur upplevelser av medlidande främjas av olika egenskaper hos vårdaren, medkännande bemötande och små gester som vårdare utför. I vårdkontakten framträder en personcentrerad vård som avgörande för huruvida medlidande avspeglas och organisatoriska faktorer som har betydelse för upplevelser av medlidande framkommer. Bland utmaningar för upplevelser av medlidande inom vården framkommer hindrande faktorer relaterade till egenskaper och personligheter bland vårdpersonal och patienter, icke bekräftande bemötande och vård som inte genomsyras av medlidande samt organisatoriska faktorer som utgör hinder för upplevelser av medlidande.
Hinder och möjliggörare för upplevelser och förmedlande av medlidande lyfts fram. Studien ger en inblick i olika aspekter som avspeglar ett holistiskt synsätt och individuella egenskaper som möjliggörare för medlidande. I resultatet framkommer hur medlidande trots föreliggande hinder och utmaningar förmedlats och upplevts. Studiens resultat bekräftar att medlidande utgör en avgörande aspekt för vård av god kvalitet.In this study, patients' and relatives' experiences of compassion in healthcare were investigated, with the background that research has not reached a consensus on how compassion is defined and measured, and that there are individual variations in how compassion is experienced and communicated. The aim of the study was to contribute to a deeper understanding by exploring the experiences of patients and relatives regarding compassion in healthcare. The research question was: “How is compassion experienced by patients and relatives within healthcare?”
The theoretical framework of the study is based on the caring theory of Katie Eriksson and Jean Watson's transpersonal caring relationship. A qualitative research design was applied, using semi-structured interviews as the data collection method. For data analysis, a qualitative inductive content analysis according to Lundman and Hällgren Graneheim (2017) was conducted. The study included 12 Swedish-speaking participants, of whom 10 were patients and two were relatives, with ages ranging from 50 to 93 years, in the context of cancer care and home care.
The results were divided into two main categories: Experiences of compassion in healthcare and Challenges to experiences of compassion in healthcare. The findings show how experiences of compassion are enhanced by various qualities of the caregiver, compassionate interaction, and small gestures performed by the caregiver. In the healthcare interaction, person-centered care emerges as crucial for whether compassion is reflected, and organizational factors that influence experiences of compassion are also highlighted. Among the challenges to experiences of compassion in healthcare, factors that hinder compassion are related to the qualities and personalities of healthcare staff and patients, non-affirming interactions, and care that is not infused with compassion, as well as organizational factors that present obstacles to compassion.
Barriers and enablers for the experience and communication of compassion are emphasized. The study provides insight into various aspects that reflect a holistic perspective and individual characteristics as enablers of compassion. The results reveal how, despite existing barriers and challenges, compassion has been communicated and experienced. The study's findings confirm that compassion is a crucial aspect of high-quality care
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
