This article deals with referents and the signified of the term inka from the double perspective of history and linguistics. It shows that the Incas were not a nobility nor an ethnic group but a military association. By analyzing the uses that the term inka had outside the socio-political field, the author defines its signified as ‘separate, set apart (from common producers)’. It is the colonial evolution of the uses of the term which is at the origin of the modern misinterpretation of the prehispanic Incas as a nobility
The Spondylus beads from El Molino (Puerta de Corral Quemado, Catamarca, Argentina): Analysis and implications for the study of local power in Inka times
The purpose of this paper is to present the analysis of a set of Spondylus beads found in El Molino (Puerta de Corral Quemado, Dept. of Bel´en, province of Catamarca, Argentina) –3000 km south of Tumbes–, a local residential pre-Inka site, with evidence of Inka influence during the 15th century CE. Given that the presence of objects manufactured in Spondylus in Chile and Argentina is nearly restricted to the capacochas -Inka burial ceremonies of children and young maidens dressed in fine textiles at the top of the snow-capped peaks of the Andes- , the discovery of these beads in El Molino acquires special relevance. We present the description of the raw material, the reconstruction of possible manufacturing techniques, the analysis of the morphometry and the comparison with other sets of beads. The implications of this discovery at a local and regional scale, taking into account the symbolic and strategic importance of this resource for the Inka expansive policy, are discussed. It is proposed that the site could have been a space of local power, where an elite group, that organized the manufacture of prestigious goods, was benefited by the mechanisms of hierarchization and legitimation of political power promoted by the state.Fil: Wynveldt, Federico. This study sought to answer the question: How does water availability influence the intervention with irrigation projects in the investment costs per hectare by the Meriss Inka Plan in the Cusco Region? We answer this question by applying a descriptive correlational design, using the data collection technique with a non-probabilistic sample of 42 technical files of projects executed by the Meriss Inka Plan, by direct observation (documentary collection) or documentary analysis, for this purpose dichotomous instruments were used, which have been developed by the author of this Study Plan, both for variable one (26 items) and for variable two (10 items). The results were processed determining the validity through the Kuder Richardson 20 model method, qualifying as high and very high (according to the Gilford scale) respectively. Finally, it is concluded that variable one, water availability, does affect variable two, investment cost per hectare, in the projects executed by the Meriss Inka Plan.Universidad Nacional de Educación Enrique Guzmán y Valle.Tesi

The aim of the thesis was to develop the author’s own personal sales skills in B2B sales. Services for sale were related to property maintenance for B2B customers, cleaning gutters and removing moss from roofs mechanically.
The thesis was written in diary format. The author reported her days daily and reflected on her activities on a weekly basis by weekly reviews. Before the diary part, the author studied related theory to deepen the understanding of the topic.
In the theory part of the thesis, discuss is provided on B2B sales as a concept, the sales process in B2B sales, the sales funnel, and the features of a good salesperson. Additional subjects were dealt with in the weekly analyses included in the diary.
A reflection of the whole diary was included. It is a summary of observations from the whole period such as where the author succeeded, where the author failed or where there was still room for improvement, what the author learned during the diary period and what things the author put into practice after the thesis to keep developing her sales skills
Nuclear Translocation of Crk Adaptor Proteins by the Influenza A Virus NS1 Protein
The non-structural protein-1 (NS1) of many influenza A strains, especially those of avian origin, contains an SH3 ligand motif, which binds tightly to the cellular adaptor proteins Crk (Chicken tumor virus number 10 (CT10) regulator of kinase) and Crk-like adapter protein (CrkL). This interaction has been shown to potentiate NS1-induced activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), but additional effects on the host cell physiology may exist. Here we show that NS1 can induce an efficient translocation of Crk proteins from the cytoplasm into the nucleus, which results in an altered pattern of nuclear protein tyrosine phosphorylation. This was not observed using NS1 proteins deficient in SH3 binding or engineered to be exclusively cytoplasmic, indicating a physical role for NS1 as a carrier in the nuclear translocation of Crk. These data further emphasize the role of Crk proteins as host cell interaction partners of NS1, and highlight the potential for host cell manipulation gained by a viral protein simply via acquiring a short SH3 binding motif.Peer reviewe
