Also, the author analyses main achievements of the marine engineer in the area of decreasing vessel’s drought and increasing her operability, characterizes the role of V. P. Kostenko in making «Orel» to stay a float after being severely damaged during Tsushima battle which was crushing for the Russian Empire

Evaluating Hashing Algorithms in the Age of ASIC Resistance
No full textIn the intricate matrix of cryptographic hashing, two contrasting paradigms vie for precedence: computational swiftness and resilience against specialized hardware, or ASICs. This study undertakes a meticulous exploration into these dueling priorities, juxtaposing conventional stalwarts like SHA-2 and KECCAK against the newer, ASIC-resistant X series. Leveraging detailed performance metrics and visual analytics, we discern the manifest advantage of SHA-2 and KECCAK in terms of computational alacrity. However, as the paper delves deeper, a compelling narrative unfolds. The deliberate design intricacies of the X series, despite their computational latency, emerge as robust bulwarks against potential centralization threats posed by ASIC miners. These algorithms embody a strategic deceleration, ensuring that the cryptocurrency terrain remains hospitable to a broad diaspora of miners. Through this multifaceted lens, we argue that in the cryptographic domain, raw speed is but one facet of a larger, more nuanced picture. The underlying ethos of decentralization and democratic access must guide our trajectory, even if it comes at the expense of pure efficiency. In essence, this paper endeavors to navigate the delicate balance between rapid computation and the overarching principles of an inclusive digital realm
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Factors affecting fertility rate in Kazakhstan
No full textThe aim of this thesis is to analyze the factors influencing the high fertility in Kazakhstan. In the theoretical part of the thesis, based on professional articles, factors influencing birth rate were defined. The methodology chapter provides information on the methods used in the thesis. Subsequently, in the practical part, an analysis of secondary data from Kazakhstan was conducted. A comparison was made with other countries, particularly with the Czech Republic. A questionnaire survey was also conducted in Kazakhstan, and the results were analyzed. Chi-square tests of independence were performed for selected factors. The conclusion summarizes the results of the analysis.Cílem této diplomové práce je zanalyzovat, které faktory ovlivňují vysokou míru porodnosti v Kazachstánu. V teoretické časti práce na základě odborných článků byli definované faktory ovlivňující porodnost. Dále v prací následuje kapitola věnovaná metodice práce, kde lze najít informaci ohledně použitých metod v práci. Následně, v praktické časti byla provedená analýza sekundárních dat z Kazachstánu. Bylo provedeno porovnání s ostatními státy, hlavně s Českou republikou. Dále bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření v Kazachstánu, výsledky kterého byli zanalyzované a pro vybrané faktory byl proveden chí-kvadrát test nezávislosti. V závěru práce jsou¨shrnuty výsledky analýzy
