Marcus on Belief and Belief in the Impossible

    No full text
I review but don’t endorse Marcus’ arguments that impossible beliefs are impossible. I defend her claim that belief’s objects are, in some important sense, not the bearers of truth and falsity, discuss her dispositionalism about belief, and argue it’s a good fit with the idea that belief’s objects are Russellian states of affairs.

Abstract Title: Att handla rätt: En kvalitativ studie om den politiska konsumenten Seminar date: 2nd of June, 2010 Course: FEKK01, Degree Project Undergraduate level, Business Administration, Undergraduate level, 15 University Credits Points (UPC) or ECTS-cr) Authors: Linda C. Ågren, Marcus Klasson & Mikael Fransson Arman Advisor: Cecilia Cassenger Key words: Political consumption, Identity, Late Modernity, Consumer Behavior, Green Consumption Purpose: By looking at the phenomonem with a deeper and a broad understanding of the political consumers view and attitude against consumption, this paper wishes to contribute with knowledge of what the political consumer sees and motivates her consumption through. Methodology: This paper is based on a qualitative research study with an abductive approach. Theoretical perspectives: We believe that the current theory within the field of business administration is often one sided and disregards important aspects in the complex nature of political consumerism. Our ambition is by reaching out from our field and viewing the phenomenon with theoretical input from other areas as political science, we will find a more dynamic image of the consumer behaviour surrounding the political consumer. Empirical foundation: The empirical study is based on 10 individuals which on the basis of previous research definitions can be categorized as political consumers. Since the concept of political consumption is partly unknown as a concept, the criteria was arisen in the way that they should have an expressed strong interest in some form of consumption that fell under the definition of political consumption. Discussion: We can see our political consumers often are driven by a moral be
