An exploratory investigation into human resource practices and employee retention outcome in the Malaysian ICT industry
Author name as given on title page: Parveen Kaur Sukhdarshan SinghThis thesis explores the human resource practices and employee turnover problem in several local and international ICT companies in Malaysia. Human resource practices are used as an intervention to investigate the turnover problem because various strategic human resource management (strategic HRM) and IT/ICT employee management studies advocate that companies should invest in employee-friendly and advanced human resource practices that are beneficial for their employees, because employees’ positive responses will benefit the employers eventually, for example, by lowering the companies’ turnover rates. However, by adopting the constructivist paradigm, qualitative research methodology and constructivist grounded theory approach along with interviews with senior managers, Human Resource Managers and ICT employees, this thesis finds that the impact of human resource practices on employees and employers is not as straightforward as what has been claimed in the studies. This thesis discovers three types of human resource practices, i.e. Paternalistic, Formal and Informal, which affect employees and employers in four different ways ranging from mutually benefitting both parties to not benefitting both parties.
In addition to the three types of human resource practices, this thesis also discovers four types of employee outcomes and two types of employer outcomes, which when compiled together, provides an in-depth understanding of what is happening in the Malaysian ICT industry in relation to adoption of human resource practices and employee retention outcomes

Until very recently, women did not claim the attention of
academicians in Pakistan. Short of cliche-ridden write-ups glorifying
their exalted and sometimes imagined roles, little else was written to
reveal the reality of women in the country's tribal, feudal, changing
society. The exceptions have been reports and case studies, mostly
commissioned by the Government or by international agencies. These,
however, have remained confined to departmental files and a limited
readership. The few titles which have appeared in the last ten years or
so, besides a few autobiographies (e.g. Jahanara Shah Nawaz's, Shaista
Ikramullah's), include Rashida Patel's book on the family laws, Parveen
Shaukat Ali's study of women in the Muslim world and Kishwar Naheed's
collection, in Urdu, of papers on some aspects of women in

On the other side, Age, Education, Rural Location, Formal Employment, Credit Availability, Green Belt & Trees, Health Facilities, Irrigation Facility, Clean Drinking Water, Sui Gas Availability and Housing Condition are the origin of increasing Assets of Households while Female to male ratio is reducing Assets
Inflation and Growth Nexus in Pakistan: A Time Series Analysis
This study is related to recognize the effect of inflation on economic growth in the case of Pakistan. Inflation is a state when the general price level moves to increase. A large number of people say that if unnecessary money pursues meager goods this state is called inflation. This analysis is comprised of data from 1981 to 2014. Selected variables are Gross Domestic Product growth rate, Inflation, Child labor force, Unemployment, and Gross fixed capital formation. The inflation will work only if the rising price process prevails in the country and increases in wages, devaluation of the currency, an increase in oil prices, and an increase in indirect taxes. This finding fails to provide credibility in the direction of observation that developing countries are confronting a persistent decline in the gross domestic product due to the devaluation of the currency. ARDL technique and unit root test are used to find stationary. There is no single solution to the conflict. So, the Government should accept those measures such as monetary and non-monetary to fight it. These measures can be classified as under monetary measures, Fiscal measures and General measures. Credit rationing put to get a better gross domestic product. Policy commands that Pakistan should adopt an energetic plan for encouraging gross domestic product utilizing exceeding channels
Real-time air quality measurements using mobile platforms
Air pollution poses a serious threat to our health and quality of life. Measuring pollution in the air we breathe and sharing the results with our peers is an important step in increasing social awareness for creating a clean environment. Usually, pollution measurements are conducted using expensive monitors at fixed locations. These measurements fail to provide accurate real-time pollution information in most of the highly polluted roads. It is desirable to have access to real time fine-grained measurements to be able to quickly analyze and identify alarming levels of pollutants. Pervasiveness of smart phones with internet connectivity and increased availability of personal air quality sensors provide a unique opportunity to develop air pollution conscious community of users for collecting and sharing real time air pollution data. In this thesis, we propose air quality monitoring through mobile sensors, which are low-power, low-cost, designed to sample air pollutants such as carbon mono-oxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide, environmental temperature, humidity and air pressure and communicate via Bluetooth with a smartphone. We built an iOS mobile application that makes use of location services available on the mobile phones, to record GPS co-ordinates along with air pollution readings. We built a mobile to cloud replication model, data exchange protocol and outlier detection for anomalous sensor readings. We also employed spatial database queries to optimize location based pollution data sharing and visualization of pollution data overlays on mobile map displays. We evaluated our mobile pollution-sensing model against stationary NJ DEP monitor and studied spatial granularity of pollution data.M.S.Includes bibliographical referencesby Parveen Sevus

تانیثیت: سماجی و ثقافتی پہلو: Feminism: Social & Cultural Aspect
Feminism is a movement that seeks to bring to light various issues of women’s social life. The profound effects of this movement or ideology on literature can be felt. From Sir Syed Ahmad Khan to Allama Rashid Al-Khairi most of the women’s domestic education, weak faith and veil issues were discussed under the influence of feminism, women have also presented creations with such skills that their social and cultural attitudes have come to the fore. Female Writers have sadly portrayed the supremacy and exploitation of masculine society through the eyes of a woman. They also raised social awareness among women by exposing the social and cultural characteristics of the country. They valued women in their own way in the context of social status. These women demanded education and freedom for themselves and raised their voices against the injustices done to women in the society. Their writing also shows feminine resistance and protest alone with cultural decline, the breakdown of values, the problems of domestic and marital life. Ada Jafri, Kishwar Naheed, Fahmida Riaz, Parveen Shakir, Noshi Gilani, Humaira Rehman have feminine expression. In their poetry women’s emotions, depiction of social conditions and their psychological response is a new experience in Urdu literature. This tradition of feminine poetry reflects our cultural tendencies

Electricity Generation and Real Output in Asia: A Panel Co-Integration Approach
Purpose: The present study concentrates on the relationship of electricitywith real output in Asia. The paper analyzes this connection individuallyamong all regions of Asia. Some countries are selected from Central Asia,East Asia, South Asia and South East Asia. Time period of 1990 – 2015 hasbeen chosen for the analysis. We have considered Solow growth model andhave taken labor and capital as necessary variables for growth. Afterconfirmation of integration of order as 1 for all variables, Kao Cointegrationtest infers presence of long run relationship in all models. FMOLSsuggests that labor and capital are positively significant factors for thedevelopment of real output in all the regions of Asia. Electricity Productionis positively influencing real output in Central Asia, South Asia and SouthEast Asia; For East Asia, it has been stated as negative. On the basis ofresults, study suggests that government should develop more skilled labor, cheap investment opportunities, efficient and cheap electricity production
