Ser-aí sem existir. O jovem Heidegger leitor de Natorp

    No full text

The author makes a brief personal and intellectual sketch of Renato Treves. A stay for widening studies in Germany, together with Norberto Bobbio and Ludovico Geymonat, will explain Kelsen’s influence in Treves’ theory of law, not compatible with Max Weber’s influence in his approach to legal sociology. In the second part of the article, the relationships of Renato Treves with Spain and LatinAmerica are analyzed from the increase of fascism in Italy that came out into his exile

I analyze four stories included in Renato Rodríguez´s Quanos (1997). From a particular thematic perspective, I demonstrate Rodríguez´s interest in ideological schemes attached to old Venezuelan customs. It is a sort of narrative involution that claims the attention of the scholars when studying this author\u27s general creative corpus

The article briefly surveys the scholarly contributions of the late Italian scholar Renato Traini (1923-2014). The article dwells on Traini’s activity as Professor of Arabic language at the University of Rome “la Sapienza” and focuses on his pivotal role in studying and cataloguing Arabic manuscripts (mainly but not only Yemeni) in Italian libraries, as well as on his work as the main author of the most important Arabic-Italian Dictionary

Interplay of grounding-line dynamics and sub-shelf melting during retreat of the Bjørnøyrenna Ice Stream

The Barents Sea Ice Sheet was a marine-based ice sheet, i.e., it rested on the Barents Sea floor during the Last Glacial Maximum (21 ky BP). The Bjørnøyrenna Ice Stream was the largest ice stream draining the Barents Sea Ice Sheet and is regarded as an analogue for contemporary ice streams in West Antarctica. Here, the retreat of the Bjørnøyrenna Ice Stream is simulated by means of two numerical ice sheet models and results assessed against geological data. We investigate the sensitivity of the ice stream to changes in ocean temperature and the impact of grounding-line physics on ice stream retreat. Our results suggest that the role played by sub-shelf melting depends on how the grounding-line physics is represented in the models. When an analytic constraint on the ice flux across the grounding line is applied, the retreat of Bjørnøyrenna Ice Stream is primarily driven by internal ice dynamics rather than by oceanic forcing. This suggests that implementations of grounding-line physics need to be carefully assessed when evaluating and predicting the response of contemporary marine-based ice sheets and individual ice streams to ongoing and future ocean warming.Physical and Space Geodes

Augustus: a CCN router for programmable networks

Despite the considerable attention that the ICN paradigm received so far, its deployment has been hindered by the scale of upgrades required to the existing infrastructure. Software programmable networking frameworks would constitute a remarkable opportunity for ICN as they enable fast deployment of novel technologies on commodity hardware. However, a software ICN router implementation for commodity platforms guaranteeing adequate packet processing performance is not available yet. This paper introduces Augustus, a software architecture for ICN routers, and detail two implementations, stand-alone and modular, released as open-source code. We deployed both implementations on a state-of-the-art hardware platform and analyzed their per formance under different confgurations. Our analysis shows that with both implementations it is possible to achieve a throughput of approximately 10 Mpps, saturating 10Gbit/s links with packet as small as 100 bytes. However, to achieve such performance, routers must be carefully confgured to fully exploit the capabilities of the hardware platforms they run on.Despite the considerable attention that the ICN paradigm received so far, its deployment has been hindered by the scale of upgrades required to the existing infrastructure. Some students dream of becoming authors of books, but what should we mobilize to achieve this aspiration? Looking at the present day, it is possible to observe a precarious contact with literature in schools, together with teachers who lack literary knowledge. For this reason, the theme selected for this research will move in this direction, seeking answers to the question: How to train children's literature authors? Thus, our general objective will be to investigate how Renato Moriconi became an author, mobilizing the following specific objectives: to verify how Renato Moriconi's insertion into the literary world developed; to detect how Renato Moriconi's growth occurred; to explore the creative process in the work "Bocejo"; and, finally, to identify the role of access to literature in the formation of the student and the teacher. Therefore, in order to achieve our goals, we opted for the qualitative approach of documentary research. The possible solution found will fall on the role of access to literature. Keywords: Author training. Renato Moriconi. Literary Practices. Image-book.

Renato Ortiz, cultura e modernidade - a França no século 19

    No full text
The complex relationships between culture and modernity are the theme of this book. To understand the type of civilization that was born from the French and Industrial Revolution, Renato Ortiz reconstructs in Culture and Modernity, mainly through the categories of space and time, everyday life in Paris at the end of the 19th century. The author begins his book by admitting that, "at first glance, it may seem strange that a Brazilian intellectual would have been interested in 19th century France." However, Renato, in fact, discusses in this work the new forms of human relationships, consumption and leisure that gained ground with the expansion of electricity, electronic communications, large "magazins", of modern printing techniques, therefore, a more or less natural development of the research he has developed into the vigor and contradictions of modernity in cultural life.
