A Unified Shell model for Buoyancy-Driven Turbulence

    No full text
We construct a unified shell model for stably stratified and convective turbulence. Shell model simulation of stably stratified flow in turbulent regime exhibit Bolgiano-Obukhbov (BO) scaling in which the kinetic energy spectrum varies as k11/5k^{-11/5}. However, simulation of convective turbulence shows Kolmogorov's spectrum. These results are consistent with the direct numerical simulations of Kumar {\em et al.} [Phys. Rev. E {\bf 90}, 023016 (2014)]. We also observe a dual scaling (k11/5k^{-11/5} and k5/3k^{-5/3}) for a limited range of parameters in stably stratified flow

    ELECTROMAGNETICS FOR ELECTRICAL MACHINES

    No full text
<p>It is general information that electrical energy is used in a variety of settings, and it is also common awareness that electrical machines play critical roles in manufacturing and other STEM-related industries. Because it is meant to assist both students and working engineers and technicians, this book was prepared with both sets of readers in mind: students and working professionals. The course "Electrical Machines" is taught differently at various universities and goes by a variety of different titles, including "Electrical Machines-I," "Electrical Machines-II," "DC Machines and Transformers," "Electromagnetic Energy Conversion Devices," "Special Purpose Machines," and so on. This section offers a comprehensive discussion of the subject matter that is normally covered in courses of this kind. This book highlights the modifications that have been made to the curriculum at all institutions, both in India and overseas, and those adjustments have been made. In spite of the fact that there are a great many textbooks devoted to this subject matter, the majority of students consider Electrical Machines to be one of the most challenging academic fields to study. Keeping this in mind, the content was developed in a logical manner, with an emphasis placed on the essentials. Because each chapter of the book has the required words, and because the accompanying illustrations are distinct and simple to comprehend, the majority of the content does not need much explanation. Throughout the course of the book, several more examples, both solved and unresolved, have been included as a means of assisting students in their preparation for the numerous sorts of questions that will be included on examinations. In order to facilitate consistent learning and the retention of information, a portion of practice problems has been included to each of the chapters. At the end of each chapter, there is a sufficient number of multiple-choice, shortanswer, and test questions, as well as unsolved situations. These elements combine to make the book an independent educational experience. There is no pretension made by the author that they conducted ground-breaking research for the book. The published works of well-known authors have provided us with access to a wealth of materials, which we have used to a significant degree. The author, on the other hand, is certain that his presentation is quite systematic. In addition to that, he mentions that the text is written in a way that is easy to understand and digest. A claim of this kind, despite the fact that every effort has been taken to assure correctness, is unlikely to be true in light of the circumstances. </p&gt

The priority for ideas and philosophy related to "Network Theory" have been traced back and documented by Braun(2004),and credit goes to Karinthy(1929).The IT has empowered to realise it, as the most practical phenomena and it is no more a humour. The OAI (Open Archives Initiatives)and ACIS (Academic Contributor Information System)are progressive in the direction ,which may lead to realise the "Collective Genius" at global level. Focus of present study is on Author-Self-Archiving (A-S-A)Metadata of the 983 Eprints in the Live Archives of the E-LIS (EPrints of Library and Information Science),which were approved till 7th July 2004.The A-S-A Metadata was used for librametric analysis. Self-explanatory bibliographics are illustrated. The highlights include: Conference papers (34%); highest approval, June 2004 (28%); published archives (76%);not refereed (52%); not in public domain (60%); highest self-archiving-author (De Robbio, Antonella). The Nos. of EPrints having single JITA domain specifications were: Theoretical and general aspects of libraries and information(27); Information use and sociology of information(80);Users,literacy and reading(13);Libraries as physical collections(30);Publishing and legal issues(57);Management(13);Industry, profession and education(36);Information sources, supports, channels(113) ; Information treatment for information services, Information functions and techniques (101); Technical services libraries, archives and museums(25); Housing technologies(1); Information technology and library technology(92); and Inter-domainery (395) i.e. having specifications of two or more than two JITA classes

Transient response analysis in IBR-dominated power systems based on short circuit ratio

    No full text
Inverter-based resources (IBRs) play a major role in transition to renewable energy, which poses new threats to the power grid’s stability and dependability. As convention a synchronous generators are replaced by IBR causes decrease in the inertia of the grid. As the penetration level rises, the grid’s strength decreases, making it more vulnerable to disturbances. This paper presents a dynamic performance evaluation of a grid-following inverter(GFLI) under varying grid strengths, characterized by different Short Circuit Ratios (SCRs). The inverter is designed with a constant DC voltage source, an L-filter interface, and a cascaded control structure that includes inner current control loops and outer power control (PQ) executed in the synchronous d q reference frame. The transient behavior and current tracking performance of the inverter are examined by applying a step change in active power reference from 10kW to 11 kW. The Key system responses are observed by time domain simulations. The analysis highlights the influence of grid strength on the Efficiency of the control strategy, especially in weak grid conditions. Results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy maintains stable operation and accurate power delivery under strong to moderately weak grid conditions, while performance degrades significantly under weak grid scenarios (SCR = 1)

Kiran Desai is one of the most important women Indian writers. She is the daughter of Anita Desai, another noted Indian writer. She was born on 3rd September, 1971 in Chandigarh. Kiran Desai is one of those women writers who had created a great impact in the literary world at a very young age. Her novel, “The Inheritance of Loss” talks about the life struggle of the people in the hilly regions. At a very young age she won the Man Booker Prize in 2006. The novel is filled with full of stylistic playfulness, emotions, love and beautiful description of nature and its elements. The novel is filled with full of natural elements. The author also describes the difference between the living pattern in India and abroad. Further, in the novel people of various communities livings together peacefully without any discrimination are clearly depicted in the novel. Further, the dependence of nature by the people especially those living in the hilly regions are also shown in the novel. The novel also depicts, the tension created by humans over the possession of the nature (especially the land and demarcation of the boundary). Moreover, the beauty of natural landscape on the hilly region at the various times of the year is also beautifully represented by the author. The novel shows that without nature, human cannot survive alone and it hasalways helped human in various ways. Preserving culture, tradition and living together is also depicted in the novel. Nature also plays an important role in identifying the culture of a particular community. Lastly the author describes the scenic beauty of Kanchenjunga (the second highest mountain in the world)
