Ptilohyale bisaeta (Kim & Kim, 1991) (Korean Name: Teol-chae-jjik-hae-jo-sum-i-yeop-sae-u) Hyale bisaeta Kim & Kim, 1991: 32, figs 18–20. Hyale crassicornis. — Kim & Kim, 1987: 14, fig. 12. Material examined. No specimens in the authors’ collections. Previous Korean records. Jejudo Is., Uleungdo Is. (Kim & Kim 1991). Diagnosis. Antenna 2, peduncular article 5 and flagellum densely setose. Pereopods 3–7, basis more than 2 x as long as ischium–dactylus combined. Uropod 1, outer ramus with 5–6 spines. Telson with one apical seta. Remarks. Our extensive collections did not contain this species, so Ptilohyale bisaeta remains unreported from Korea since Kim & Kim (1991). We tried to examine the type material which had been deposited in Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. Unfortunately, the material has been lost so that we could not compare P. bisaeta with the remaining 2 Korean ptilohyalid species. The status of this species in Korea, therefore, is still unclear.Published as part of Eun, Ye, Kim, Young-Hyo, Hendrycks, Ed A. & Lee, Kyung-Sook, 2014, The family Hyalidae (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Talitroidea) from Korean waters. 1. Biography of Lin Wen Zhong Gong has another way to call, that is Judge Lin. The leading character is Lin Ze-Xu. This book is based on functionary experience of Lin Ze-Xu, with the captivating plots of court case, helping by highly skilled military attach\uc3\ua9s and chivalrous knights, and the history facts of Opium War. It makes Lin Ze-Xu\ue2s Confucian temperament and tragic mood more, also contrasts with author\ue2s sorrow and furiousness for the politics at the time. History, court case, martial arts\ue2\ua6\ue2\ua6etc. are essence of this book and it broadens the way of this writing style. The topic of the thesis is \ue2An Analysis of Judge Lin\ue2. The following thesis will be divided into six different chapters. The introduction is Chapter one of the thesis, which is including researching motive and purpose, literature review of predecessors, researching version by existing information, raising questions, choosing research methods and arranging chapters. In chapter Two, I discuss the study of characters of Lin Ze-Xu, also makes a deep analysis of author\u27s purpose of writing him. In chapter Three, I analyze supporting actors and actress. Meanwhile, I illustrate author\u27s purpose of writing supporting actress because the author had different manner to describe supporting actress. Moving to the Chapter Four, I mainly focus on the plots of Judge Lin, and organize cases of Lin Ze-Xu and his subordinates to understand features of cases. In Chapter Five, I represent the causes of Opium War. China and England had difference of opinions of opium. Therefore, it is easier to comprehend what the author\u27s purpose is. In the last chapter I summarize the main points of the preceding chapters and confirm particularity of Judge Lin

A Simulation of Liquid Crystal Grating with Field‐Induced Twist Deformation for Beam‐Steering Applications

    No full text
Beam-steering device using liquid crystal (LC) grating with field-induced twist deformation, which has symmetric LC director distribution, is demonstrated. The proposed LC cell can convert the polarizations without multidomain LC alignments, and the polarization of the output light can also be changed with different input polarization. Therefore, the polarization of the input light is controlled, and the polarization of the output light is analyzed by additional layers that each consists of a switchable quarter-wave plate (QWP) and a linear polarizer. The transmitted light of the proposed LC cell can be diffracted in three different directions by changing the bias voltage. The calculated efficiency and angle of steering are 46% and 8°, respectively. Potential applications of such a grating for diffraction optics, optical interconnect, and beam-steering devices are foreseeable.11

PH0044/0058 - Mrs Lum LoyDate:1884Lee Toy Kim was born in Shekki (China) around 1884 and came to Darwin about 1898. At the age of 17, she married Lum Loy, a mining engineer. Together they settled in Pine Creek and had one child, a daughter called Lizzie Yook Lin who was born on 8 December 1906. After her husband died in 1918, Lee Toy Kim returned to Darwin with her daughter. Here she bought a four-hectare property at Fannie Bay and established a mango plantation of approximately 200 trees. In 1935, Lee Toy Kim sold the mango plantation and moved back to Darwin to help her daughter run the family cafe on the corner of Bennett and Cavenagh streets. Later she purchased land in Stuart Park where she ran chickens and sold eggs. After the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese in 1942, Lee Toy Kim was evacuated and she made the long journey down the Stuart Highway to Adelaide and then on to Sydney. After the war she returned to Darwin. She found the city destroyed and the land she had previously owned had been acquired by the government. Compensation was paid for her chicken farm and with this money she bought a small block on the corner of Henry Street and the Stuart Highway. Lee Toy Kim lived and worked her garden on this land until she died on 1980 at the age of 96. Source: Northern Territory dictionary of biography. The Importance of Proofs of Security for Key Establishment Protocols: Formal Analysis of Jan-Chen, Yang-Shen-Shieh, Kim-Huh-Hwang-Lee, Lin-Sun-Hwang, and Yeh-Sun Protocols

Despite the importance of proofs in assuring protocol implementers about the security properties of key establishment protocols, many protocol designers fail to provide any proof of security. Flaws detected long after the publication and/or implementation of protocols will erode the credibility of key establishment protocols. We revisit recent work of Choo, Boyd, Hitchcock, & Maitland (2004) where they utilize the Bellare, Pointcheval, & Rogaway (2000) computational complexity proof model in a machine specification and analysis (using an automated model checker -- SHVT) for provably-secure key establishment protocol analysis. We then examine several key establishment protocols without proofs of security, namely: protocols due to Jan & Chen (2004), Yang, Shen, & Shieh (1999), Kim, Huh, Hwang, & Lee (2004), Lin, Sun, & Hwang (2000), and Yeh & Sun (2002). Using these protcols as case studies, we demonstrate previously unpublished flaws in these protocols. We may speculate that such errors could have been found by protocol designers if proofs of security were to be constructed, and hope this work will encourage future protocol designers to provide proofs of security

[[abstract]]The thesis deals with the ‘lian…dou/ye …’ construction in modern Chinese. In order to clarify the informational status of ‘lian…’, issues on topic and focus are shown in the first part of this thesis. Then, discussions on semantic functions and conversational implicatures of this construction constitute the sencond part. Lastly, the formal complexity and pedagogical instructions will be presented as well.
